Review: Of the four books in the series I have read, this and "A Swiftly Tilting Planet" are the best and most interesting. There are boring parts and some of it is complicated. However, I like this book because it is exciting and very interesting. I recommend this book for readers 10 years and up.

Summary: Breathtaking
Review: "A Wrinkle In Time" is one of the most amazing books I have ever had the privilege to read. Madeleine L'Engle's book filled with mystery, fantasy, suspense, and amazing symbolism grabs your atention and holds it to the very end.

Meg Murry is a high-school girl that thinks that her life is a mess. She doesn't fit in at school, people pick on her precocious five-year-old brother Charles Wallace, and her brilliant physicist father, who is involved with top-secret government projects, has gone missing. She and her family have no idea where he is whether he will ever get home. One day she goes to a purportedly haunted house deep in the woods with Charles and her life changes dramatically. There she meets Calvin O'Keefe, whom she immediately feels an affinity to. The three ladies living in the house, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, take the children on a wonderful but terrifying journey to save Meg's father.

Charles, Calvin, and Meg must journey through time and space to try to save Mr. Murry in this wonderfully written book that will keep you absorbed to the very end.

Summary: A Wrinkle in Time
Review: "A Wrinkle in Time" is one of the most original and well written books of all time. Meg and her 5 year old brother, Charles Wallace, along with their new friend, Calvin, go on a mysterious and space travelling mission to find and rescue their father who they haven't seen in a long time. Soon the three find out what a tesseract, or a wrinkle in time, is and they're travelling to different galaxies and making new alien friends and also major enemies.

"A Wrinkle in Time" isn't only a great book because it's original and not like any other book ever written, but because it's not just one kind of story. It's mostly a science fiction book, but you could also classify it as a horror, adventure, and a mystery book. If you like reading intriguing books that are original and interesting at the same time, I recommend getting "A Wrinkle in Time."

Summary: imaginations rock!
Review: I read this book for the first time in the third grade. Now as a high school student, I still enjoy hearing about the troubles of Meg Murry, the wonders of Mrs. Whatsit and the horrors on Camazotz. If you have never read the book, this must sound like jibbirish, but I assure you: you will be swept away in this amazing book. Madeleine L'Engle is a great author who has written many wonderful books, but this will always be my favorite.

Review: A Wrinkle in Time, By Madeline Legal- Science Fiction

Essential Summary

A Wrinkle in Time is a classic confrontation between good and evil. Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin go face to face with evil during their adventure in another galaxy. They are on a quest to free Meg and Charles Wallace's father from the terrible and hideous IT. Mrs. Watsit, Mr. Who and Mrs. Which guide them on their Journey. Meg has to look deep inside her self to figure out how to free her brother, who was also taken by the horrible IT. They all use their strengths and weaknesses to prevail.

Highlights(Scenes in the book that are memorable)

All of a sudden Mrs. Watsit, Mr. Who and Mrs. Which bring them into the second dimension while tessering from earth to another galaxy. Meg feels like a piece of paper flattened out. She could barely breath. Then she becomes her normal self again. A split second later she begins to get a cold feeling throughout her entire body. Later Mrs. Whatsit explains to her what happened. They had traveled through the dark thing.

A man, who feels it's his duty to report them, leads Meg, Charles Wallace and Calvin to IT. When they get to IT, IT tries to take control over them. Calvin resists by saying nursery rhymes to out loud and succeeds. Meg resists by saying the Gettysburg Address out loud. Charles Wallace just says no. It targets Charles Wallace because he believes he is the smartest, even though he is only 6. Charles eventually gives in to IT and becomes under IT's power. This book was a good read and I hope my summary proves helpful to you.

Summary: It is still the best!
Review: I absolutely loved this book, as a child & as an adult. I bought this audio tape for my mother who is 47. I am giving it to her for Christmas. She loved reading this book to me as a child as much as I loved hearing her read it. I think this may be one of the best Christmas gifts I have gotten her because it is a connection between us. And the best part is that the author, Madeleine L'Engle is the one who is narrating the audio. Wow! How better to get the full story than to hear the woman that wrote it read it. I am so excited! I cant wait until she lets me listen to it too!

Summary: The best book I ever read!!
Review: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L¡¯Engle is a book that all the science fiction or fantasy lovers of all ages should read. Even though the book is geared towards young readers, it is interesting enough for adults to read. The book is so different and unusual that it makes your imagination travel through time and space with the characters in the book. As you travel throughout the book, you can learn lessons that are important to your life.

The book is about a girl named Meg Murry, an awkward, but loving high school student. She finds out that her missing father who is a gifted scientist is being held prisoner by the evil forces on the other planet of Camazotz. With Mrs. Who, Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Whatsit¡¯s help, Meg, her extraordinarily intelligent younger brother Charles Wallace, and their new friend, Calvin O¡¯Keefe, go on a dangerous adventure through time and space. They fight the evil forces including the giant disembodied brain named IT, The Black Thing, and the Man with the Red Eyes to rescue Meg¡¯s father.

Throughout the battle of good and evil, Meg learns few lessons. When Meg arrives at a planet of Camazots, she is surprised at the place. The place represents complete conformity and security, but no personal freedom with its rows of identical houses and identical human beings. Meg learns that being unique and individual is better than being absolutely identical. Another important lesson that Meg learns is that she can not know everything. When she goes to the planet named Uriel, she can accept that the musical dance of the creatures is beautiful even though she can not understand nor speak their language. She learns that being able to feel is more important than the need for total understanding of the world around her. Another theme of the book and an important lesson for Meg is the inadequacy of words. L¡¯Engle demonstrates that verbal speech is not the only way with which we can share our thoughts and feelings. Meg learns her lesson in her rescue of Charles Wallace: she fights over and wins IT through the sheer power of love that transcends spoken language. When you read the book, you can learn few other important lessons.

A Wrinkle in Time is a great book that anyone who loves adventures and science fiction should read. I really like this book. In the absence of any ambiguities or shades of gray, the book¡¯s central conflict is clearly and starkly dramatized so that readers of all ages can understand its themes and its messages. The book is very interesting and catches your attention because it¡¯s very different from our normal life: unreal, and very strange. It is so fictional and unusual that it might be too childish for some people. The book is well written. The story flows nicely, but it ends awfully quickly at the end where it should be concentrated the most on: Meg saves her brother by her love, and then is happily whisked home, all in few pages. I also hoped that the author explained about the tesseract which is a wrinkle in time more clearly. The book refers to Christianity at the theological and philosophical level; and while the struggle between good and evil forces in the world is a central aspect of Christian theology, it is also universal in its scope. It is a great science fiction story which is very adventurous, imaginative, appealing and which teaches you very important lessons. I recommend the book to people who like to use their imagination as they read the book.
