Rating: Summary: This is a really good book, it's very scientific. Review: This is a wonderful book. If you're not into science-fiction than it will most likely be pretty boring. This book has a really good plot and an ending that makes sense. The three old ladies are very interesting. This book was written in such a way that it doesn't just leave off in the middle of the story so that you will read the sequel. It finishes the plot and doesn't just leave you hanging, wondering what will happen. All in all I think that this is a wonderful book.
Rating: Summary: fantastic Review: I was introduced to this book 20+ yrs ago by my 4th grade teacher. She TRICKED us into reading it by playing a record (those are the vinyl things we got music from before CD's were invented) of the story - but she only played the first half, so if we wanted to know how it ended we had to read the book. I convinced my mother to buy it for me, and read it. It actually took several days to read, because when I got to the part where Meg was going into IT's lair, I was so frightened I put the book away and didn't want to read any more. After a few days, however, curiosity overcame fear and I finished the book. Then read it again. And again. Before this book, I read mostly dog and horse stories, as typical for a girl that age. After this book, I began to explore science fiction and real science (IS there such a thing as a tesseract?). I am now a Science Associate at a national lab, with degrees in mathematics and engineering, and planning to go back to school to (finally) start that PhD in Physics in fall of 2000. Much of the blame (or credit) for this can be traced back to reading this book.
Rating: Summary: Can Meg give up her own life to save her father from it? Review: Can Meg find out what happened to her father?Meg is a girl that gets taken by four unknown people to rescue her father. She has to face the evil powers of IT to find her father. I liked this book and I would give it five stars out of five stars. I would rate it this because the last 132 pages of the book I had to read all at once because the book was so good. This book was very interesting and I think it would take a very skilled person like Madeleine L'Engle to be able to write in different languages in her books.
Rating: Summary: A interesting book of fantasy. Review: A wrinkle in time is a wonderful book for kids that ;like fiction books. In the book a teenage girl named Meg goes on a journey to find her father. She goes on the journey with a friend named Calvin and her younger brother, Charles Wallace. This is not a regular journey because her father is lost in space! With the help of Mrs. Who, Mrs. Which and Mrs. Whatsit, who turn out to be from other planets, they tesser to planets and try to find their father. This is not easy because of "IT". IT has their father and even takes over Charles Wallace!
Rating: Summary: A wonderful mix ofsceince fiction and fantasy. Review: A Wrinkle in Time is a great story for children ten years old and up. Meg, the main charector is a girl who has a very low self-esteem.She thinks she is ugly and an oddball. Her father is away on a top secret business trip. Now he has disapeared. Will Meg, her little brother Charles Wallace, and Meg's friend Calvin be able to find Meg's father? I think this was a wonderful book and I strongly reccemend it to kids ten and up because it might be a little bit hard to understand.
Rating: Summary: A book of many levels Review: I was in the third grade when our teacher had us read this book. The other teachers thought she was nuts - too difficult of a book to read. We had to make pictures of our favorite characters - mine was Charles Wallace. It was the best experience I had in my grade school years. I have since read the book probably 10 times. I have given the book as gifts to my nephews and nieces. At 32, I have put this story into the memories that have shaped my childhood. I thank Mrs. Write, my third grade teacher, for directing us toward our imaginations. And to Madeleine L'Engle for giving no boundaries to our imagination.
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: I absolutly love the plot! It is by far one of the best books I have ever read!! Its like science fiction but not. Any ways this is a book every body should buy,or at least read.
Rating: Summary: The best book I've ever read. Review: This book was so cool!!!!!!!It has a cool message - love conquers all.The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that Madeline L'Engle never tells you what ever happened to the Mrs.Ws in this book or any of the other books about the Murry family.
Rating: Summary: Fascinating and Compelling! Review: I read this book when I was in the fifth grade and it has been one of my favorites ever since. It fuels the imagination and has the uplifting message that Love Conquers All. It helped make me a science fiction fan. Now my daughter, who is in the fifth grade, is reading it and loving it as well. What better review could you get than that? An excellent, excellent book. It would make a great movie! I recommend it to anyone age 9 and over.
Rating: Summary: This Is A wonderful book teaching you to have a good ego Review: This book is definently one that you must read strait through and never put down. Meg starts out always puting herself down. Then one night a lady comes to the door, that changed it all. There are actually three ladies who are angels, the angels of FAITH, HOPE, and CHARITY who help the children on their quest to find Father and Destroy IT. This is definetly an Evaluation book that has a great amount of total understanding on why it is important to have a good ego towards yourself and others. By Ryan Durham Mr.Martin's class
