Rating: Summary: My opinion was... Review: Okay, I have no clue what the rest of these reviews were coming from, but hey, I think it's a pretty good book. Then again, I'm bizarre, but it kicks! And I'll agree with some, though it did say 'Sandry's Book' I have to admit that it focused on other people too, but I still think that it kicks! And so does 'Tris's Book'.
Rating: Summary: I want Tortall! And Jonthan, Daine, George, and everyone Review: It's was ok but it need Tamora's exicitement to hold it up like i don't like Tris and she's the one with all the power and everything. After all was is Threacraft good for?
Rating: Summary: YEAH, I GUESS IT WAS O.K Review: The book was o.k. It kind of had a Tamora Pierce "flair" to it. I also have all the series she's ever written, and I would still have to say ALANNA ROCKS!!!!! The thing that bumbed me out was the name of the book. I mean, how stupid can a title be? It just kind of messed the book up. I still want to read the rest of the series to see if their better. Anyway- did Daine marry Numair, hmmm. We'll have to wait and see.(Also, the book didn't make me feel as if I were one of the charecters, and actually there.)
Rating: Summary: Okay but... Review: You've heard it before. I want TORTALL. I didn't really mind the new characters, weak as they may be, but it would have been great to tie in the familliar characters from Tortall. And what was with the title? Sandry's book? If it was about anyone it was about Tris, an unlikeable character who liked to make herself a victim! I was confused.
Rating: Summary: I agree, GIVE US TORTALL!!!!!!!!!! Review: I have read (and own) all of the books in the Lioness and Imortals series and this book was SUCH a let-down, I mean, come on, SANDRY's book!!??? The whole thing was about Tris. Puh-lease. Still this book had its merits. However, in conclusion, I must agree with my fellow reviewers in saying...... I WANT DAINE,NUMAIR, ALANNA, JONATHAN, THAYET etc., and most of all- TORTALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Good book Review: I think this was a very good book. I don't think it was her best but nonetheless... Is it such a crime to write about something different? Geez! It can get kind of boring for someone to only write about one kingdom and none others. I think it's a relief to have new characters and different geography. Very fulfilling. Quit griping about it. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I just have to wait for my library to get it in. If Tamora Pierce keeps turning out books like these, I'll be very happy
Rating: Summary: Good, but not as good as others. Review: I know this is getting cliche, but I WANT TORTALL, and even more, I WANT DAINE!!! I don't think that series should be ended yet--there are so many questions left!!! This book was okay (I guess), but it was a real let-down from Alanna and Dain--and I didn't like Tris!!! What about Sandy?!!
Rating: Summary: This isn't a Tortall book, DEAL WITH IT!!! Review: It isn't fair to draw parallels between this series and the Tortall series, this is completely different. Judge this book on it's own merits not on the basis of a book that should have been written in it's place. This book a fun, fast paced story that will keep younger readers enthralled. While it does lack some of the majesty and zest of her earlier books, I recommend highly it for children 8-11 years olds as a gateway in to fantasy literature.
Rating: Summary: It's a little confusing Review: I think this was a pretty good book, but while reading it, you expect it to tie in with Tamora Pierce's other books somehow. It would be nice to have some familiar characters from previous books drop in once and a while. If this was the first of Tamora Pierce's books that I'd read, I'd probably give it an 8 or 9. You wonder why it's called Sandry's Book. I mean, all she does is hold everyone together. It's not like she has an awesome type of magic. This book seems like it's centered more on Tris than anybody else. It also jumps around from one character to another so much, it's hard to tell who they're talking about. This was a great book, though, so don't think it's really bad or anything. It's just that from reading Tamora Pierce's other books, I expected it to be better.
Rating: Summary: I MISS TORTALL!!!!!!!!! Review: This book is great. It's wonderful. It's not Tortall. As good as this book is though, I miss the people of Tortall. Daine, Alanna, Numair... Well, I suppose most everyone misses them, but this book is good, a nice start for a new series.
