Summary: Read this book before you put your web pages online!
Review: A very well rounded and easy to understand book on web promotion strategies that gets people started on the right foot. People should read it even before they design their web pages - regardless of whether they wish to take an active roll in the promotion of their sites. Here at a1co.com we know that client understanding makes a substantial difference in the success of a promotion plan. I wish all my customers would read this book so they could understand why we ask them to make certain changes to their pages before we promote them. The book is well laid out with short, to the point paragraphs of information that can easily be grasped by beginners. I'll be recommending, "101 Ways to Promote Your Website by Susan Sweeney", to my clients.

Summary: A practical guide to internet marketing
Review: As a beginner I found this book to be veryhelpful. I now have a foundation to launchmy Internet marketing campaign with. Susan Sweeney is certainly quite knowledgeable and her book is filled with very practical and applicable information.

Summary: A beginners guide
Review: As I read this book, I got the feeling that Susan had obtained all of her knowledge by interviewing people or visiting various web promotion sites and taking notes. Not once did I sense that she has created actual Internet marketing programs or fully understood how it works in reality. If she has, let's have some URLs and run some positioning stats. The chapter on banner ads leads off with, "Banner Advertising Works! according to Forester Research". In fact, click-throughs in 1995 were 2.57%. Currently they are at .47%. There are, however many of good ideas in this book that will be useful to the novice site manager. But to drive real numbers, professional webmasters will need to look elsewhere.

Summary: Great help for someone new to the Internet
Review: Having only just "gone Online" recently, our company was not too experienced with websites. We found this book to be a great resource for helping us to make the most of our presence on the Internet, Very easy to follow with lots of great ideas.

Summary: 101 Ways to Promote Your Web Site by Susan Sweeney, C.A.
Review: I am a web designer for musicians, dog breeders, small business "corporate info" sites and organizations. This book as helped immensely in my promotion of my clients' websites. The 25 chapters in this book are packed full of useful information from Defining the Objectives of having a website, to the placement of meta tags and the finding the descriptions and keywords just right to promote your web site in the search engines without spamming them. My copy of this book has been dog-eared, bookmarked and well-used and well-read. This book is essential for Web Designers and Promoters of ANY LEVEL!

Summary: Lack of Bussiness Ethic
Review: I bought and read six books on Internet commerce. I found that Poor Richard's Internet Marketing and Promotions is the most practical and useful. This 101 Ways book disappointed me for two reasons: a useless companion Web site and insufficient writeup of most topics. I suggest the author/publisher be more honest in their marketing approach. This is a book that doesn't walk its talk.

Summary: Great resource for learning how to increase traffic
Review: I found this book to be a great resource for generating visitors to my site. It is very easy to read and understand and has great internet resources related to each topic for further details and tools. Each chapter covers a different way to increase traffic and is stand alone - I read the book through in a couple of days, and then went back and reread each chapter as I implemented the techniques. I immediately saw results. The information provided is really easy to understand, in plain english, and is easy to implement once you read the book. Some of the trciks of the trade provided really saved me alot of time - particularly in getting links to my site and getting placed higher in the search engines. Its easy once you understand! I would recommend this book to anyone who has a site and wants to increase their traffic. Thanks.

Summary: Good For Beginners, Otherwise Look Elsewhere
Review: I found this book very baisc and lacking any depth. If you're a beginner and never read any material on web site promotion, this book can be helpful. But if you're serious about promoting your web site, try the line of "Poor Richard" books for excellent reference material.

Summary: "A wealth of Information"
Review: I had a web site that just sat there! It was decorative all right, but pretty ineffective. And then I found Susan Sweeney's book - it has made a huge difference. I'm still in the process of incorporating all the changes to my web but I'm already seeing a difference. I use this book as a reference and read parts of it over from time to time as I implement changes. That's another thing I like, each section stands alone.

I have read all the literature on marketing on the web and I found this book by far the best on the market. It's accessible and full of information that proved to be instantly valuable in increasing traffic to my web site. I'd recommend this book to anyone who wants to increase their hits.
