Summary: Got my scores back for Dec and Jan test
Review: Ten Real SATs helpful in improving my score. The first test I took with no preparation I recieved a 1100 (510v ,590m). I took the test in December and got a 1220 (570v, 650m). In January I recieved a 1270 (610 v, 660 m). That's a 170 point improvement over three tests! My strategy is to take as many tests as you can to become acquainted with the tests. Also, learn a select list of vocabulary words. Princeton Review's list is fairly reliable. I recommend reading articles daily. Acquiring this skill helps on the reading portion.

If you're willing to work hard, improving your score will happen. Knock on wood.

Summary: Nothing better
Review: After taking the SATs last year, I can say pretty definitively that there was no better practice than taking real, released SATs. I would recommend this book to anyone who is considering taking the SATs. Begin early and either buy two copies or don't mark up the book, because it can be reused after all ten tests are taken, to take the entire test over again or to practice certain areas in which one may need work.

Summary: Best SAT Practice Method...Really
Review: Out of all the SAT books I have used [Princeton, Barrons, Kaplan] This one I believe I have benefited the most from. Nothing can compare to practicing with REAL actual SAT tests. I used a timer and took all the tests in the book a month before test date and was very happy with my improved score. Sure the other books might give you weird hints and somewhat helpful techniques, but this is the REAL thing. The only downside was the tests didnt have explanations to the answers.

Summary: A must-have for taking the SATs
Review: This book is great, you get to practice on real test questions. If you are like me, companies like Barron's or Kaplan can not help you. I just simply can't get the strategies into my brain, especially for math. All of the math mistakes I make are really stupid, like saying -5 is less than
-6. The only way I can up my math score is by this book, I know all of the stuff I just have to pass the stupid mistakes I make. I know the test companies help you with what questions to answer and stuff like that, but I am a person who can sometimes get hard questions correct and easy ones wrong. I can use this book to practice, that is all of the real help I can get.

Summary: Being accustomed to REAL Tests helps
Review: I was very disappointed after taking my first SATs at the end of my Junior year when I got a 1100 (510 V, 590 M) so I decided to buy this book and use it along with Barrons and Kaplan. I took the SAT last saturday and it seemed so much easier. The practice tests accustomed me to the types of questions that are on the actual SAT.

I'm hoping and even expect that I'd reach my goal score of a 1250. If everything falls in place a 1400 would be great.

Practice. Practice. and Practice alot with this book and grab a book like Kaplan or Barrons to learn the strategies.

I'll respond to what my scores are in a couple weeks.

Summary: Every study strategy should include this book
Review: There's just no question about it: the best way to study for the SATs is to take practice tests. It might be wise to use other books to learn and review (i.e. Barrons), but nothing will raise your score more than becoming familiar with the test. My lowest practice test (the first i took) was 1360. My 6th and 7th practice tests' scores were 1510 and 1500. I scored a 1570 on the actual SAT. Buy regardless of your goals or starting place.

Summary: Build your confidency
Review: I've bought this book after i studied with Barrons Math Workbook and Kaplan Verbal Workbook. This book has made me build my confidence. I scored 1420 on my SATI. I scored 780 on math and 640 on verbal. But there is a problem. They don't have explanations to the problems. So you have to catch your own mistakes and know why.

Summary: Guaranteed sore-raiser
Review: This book allowed me to move from a 1430 (790V, 640M) to a 1550 (800V, 750M). 'Nuff said.

Review: Ding the SAT without this book is like bungee jumping with no cord!!!

The book is absolutely essential.

Summary: Absolutely Essential For SAT Practice
Review: I've taught many SAT classes and consider 10 Real SATs by far the most important book to own. Simply put, every SAT student should have a copy of this book for the practice tests, as these will allow you to see exactly how the SAT is set up. However, don't buy this book for the test-taking methods, which are quite basic. Get your hands on a Kaplan, Princeton Review or Up Your Score book for test-taking methods, then practice those methods on real SAT tests.

How many of the practice tests should you do? Good question. How well do you want to score on the SAT? Remember -- Practice Makes Perfect. I suggest that you complete all ten practice SATs contained within this book, plus review those tests. You do not necessarily need to do all as full-length timed tests. Consider doing one or two 30-minute sections per week for a few months, and then, beginning four weeks leading up to the actual test, take a full-length test each week at the same day/time as you will take the real SAT. This will help with your timing and mental endurance.
