Summary: Concise and to the point
Review: "Modern European History" is definetely a must-have supplement for any student currently enrolled a European History course. However, if you are taking the AP course, have maintained a good average and taken notes all year, then this book does very little to prepare you for the AP exam (the book doesn't even mention AP). It is a handy reference, though, that can be used as a quick review of the material.

Summary: This book is a valuable "quick refercence" tool.
Review: Dr. Viault's book is a very valuable reference tool; either "quick reference" or detailed discriptions of events that have occurred throughout Modern Europe. The book is broken down into sections that make reading easy and interesting. This book is ideal for use as a textbook and general reference. The book captivates the reader as Viault expresses his vast knowledge in the subject with a professional touch. I highly reccomend this book for all!

Review: FIRST OFF, IGNORE MY AGE, I'M REALLY 15 BUT DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE A PROFILE ON AMAZON & SINCE KIDS UNDER 13 DON'T NEED 1...WELL, I JUST HOPE U KNOW THAT I'M NOT ONE.... GETTING BACK TO THE BOOK, IF NOT FOR THIS BOOK, I COULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN THRU THE YEAR MUCH LESS THE AP TEST! "MODERN EUROPEAN HISTORY" HAS THE INFO THAT I NEEDED FOR MY TEACHER'S QUIZES AND THE AP TEST. PLUS, AN INDEX IN THE TO MAKE LOOKING UP INFO SO EASY! ALL THE OTHER BOOKS I BOUGHT WERE OK, BUT THIS BOOK WAS SO CONSISTENT IN ALL AREAS-IT WAS BASICALLY A TEXTBOOK BUT SHORTER AND TO THE POINT. THE ONLY BAD THING IS THAT IT DOESN'T HAVE PRACTICE QUESTIONS IN THE BACK LIKE OTHER BOOKS. I HAD TO USE REA'S FOR THAT, BUT STILL, THIS BOOK IS WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I do suggest that you use this book along with your text book during the year because it is an excellent summary of the main points! Within the MASS confusion of your European textbook this books cuts it down to the main points U need to know! read this book along with ur text and u will be on ur way! It doesnt have any of that .... about DBQ's and things cuz u should do that in ur class, no review book is going to help ur writing. This book is so great for all the facts!p.s. make sure u look "inside the book" online!

Summary: Great for reviewing key topics in AP European History
Review: Hey, Whitney Young HS/AP Euro students, I'm sure you already heard of this book from Mr. Tennison and previous students... need I say more? For those of you not a WY student, this book helped me a lot with understanding topics that I needed to review for the AP exam. Keeping in mind that it isn't a replacement for your textbook or class lectures, this book can really help you jog your memory--exactly what it's supposed to do. Too bad finding an AP U.S. equivalent isn't as easy to find...

Summary: Best AP Euro Supplement I have seen!
Review: I have 17 books for AP European History and think that this is the best, it is well organized and follows the same frame as the text book that I use (A History of the Modern World)

Review: I liked this book as an study guide for my AP European History class. It reads like really good notes with all relevant information ready. I didn't give this a perfect score because, well... it's still a history book and some time periods aren't as interesting as others are.

Summary: Great for test review and the AP test
Review: I used this book in my European History AP class and found it to be a treasure trove of information. Easy to read, and not long winded like some history texts. The book itself is long but that is due to the immense about of European History that is needed to know for the AP test. I read this book over a period of time before the big test and easily scored a 4. Very helpful, I recommend.
