Summary: FANTASTIC BOOK!!!!!!BUY IT NOW!!!!!!
Review: I'm a great lover of history so I decided to take the AP Euro exam without having taken the course. I came across this book in the library and made it my SOLE AP Euro review book cause it looked interesting. And I easily got a 5. Even if you don't like history, this book will make it a piece of cake. It has everything--maps, dates, important events and plus it uses simple language so you won't get bored or confused. This book also goes fast--i only started studying 3 weeks before the exam with this book! Buy it now if you want to ace your class or test or just gain some incredibly interesting knowledge!!! :-)

Summary: If ure an Ap European Student, u have to get this book
Review: My Ap Euro class was issued a thick text book; it was dry and monotonous. After reading two chapters, i realized i was going nowhere. I ordered Viault and never had to open a Euro History textbook again. I took the test and easily scored a 5, all thanks to this extremely lucid and easy to follow book.

Summary: Good For Reference, But Not Good For The AP Euro Test...
Review: My AP European History teacher actually made us buy this book from him at the beginning of the year. To tell you the truth, I probably only got a third of the way through this book. It was just way too long and detailed. I mean, seriously, it's like 600 something pages! And, all it gave you were facts, facts, facts. It does nothing to help you make connections, and the AP Euro test expects you to make connections. I know someone who like basically memorized this whole book(that's like 600 pages of european history), but only ended up with a 3. That's because the test does not just test your knowledge of facts. It tests how well you can put those facts together. Buy the Princeton Review's prep book instead. It's brief, concise, and to the point.

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: One word puts this book in summation: "Wow!" This book is simply terrific. It summarizes European History from the 1450s - 1990 in a way that makes you remember every single piece of information. In addition to helping me study for the AP Exam, I used this book for...
1) Research Papers
2) Class Exams
3) Research Projects
4) Curiosity (I found myself flipping through this book looking for something new)

In addition to this, it really highlights your class textbook well. I brought it to class one day, and within a week, three people told me they bought it and found it just as great. I have to say that this book helped me achieve a 5 on my AP European History exam.

Do yourself a huge favor and buy this book!

Summary: Great AP European History Prep!
Review: This book is a great book for reviewing everything you will need to know for the AP test. Everything is clearly written, with maps provided when appropriate and timelines preceding each chapter. My advice, however, is not to read this the night before the test. It is somewhat lengthy and is better used if reviewed as a study guide throughout the year. For cramming right before the test, I'd recommend the chapter summaries [in italics] at the beginning and end of each chapter. These are good general overviews to help refresh your memory and clear up any last minute confusion.

Summary: An excellent review guide.
Review: This book is a great supplement to regular reading. However, if you're lacking in time, you can read it as a textbook, although that would give one a rather general overview of European History. It's too bad that a text of comparative quality is not availible for American history. My EHAP teacher (Mrs. Phillips) has made this text required reading, and I believe that that has had a definite effect on her class's AP scores. A short, easy-to-read, and comprehensive review guide.

Summary: This book summarizes an in-depth textbook very well.
Review: This book is a great tool for studying European History. Viault has put this book in an outline form which makes it easy to brush up on key points. It is a great book but it does lack coverage of social history and is a little thin on the cold war.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A great class guide, but a poor AP Test Review book...
Review: This book is great for studying for tests. It is solid in all subjects except the Enlightment, Scientific Revolution, and Cold War. This is because it does not give you the big picture very well. Then again no book does that (in my point of view.)The real weak side of the book is that it is to detailed to be a AP Euro Exam review book. It just has way to facts, I would recommend the Princton Review book for that. So I gave it a 3 for good class review, and bad AP Exam review.
