Rating: Summary: The fastest way to learn conversational Spanish Review: This book is the clearest, easiest and most rapid way to learn a foreign language I've ever experienced, and I speak 6 languages. I learned to speak rather fluent Spanish in record time because of the ease of using this book. I was able to rapidly perfect my fluency later because I was fortunate enough to find the late Margarita Madrigal in New York to teach me. She was a fun person, hence the fun of using Magic Key to Spanish to learn the language. I'm now using it to teach Spanish to my friends and they are advancing rapidly. It is an amazing book
Rating: Summary: Best 1st Spanish book I've ever seen Review: This book is undoubtedly the best that I have seen for people starting their study of Spanish. Its rapid introduction of past tense and simplified grammar rules are unique as far as I can tell, and I have an extensive library of current texts. It's a great way to get "up and running" in Spanish. When I first started studying Spanish, it was amazing to me how everyday after studying a chapter I would here examples of what I was learning as I would walk around Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. This book stimulated me to further study because it made me conversational much more quickly than the more conservative, "let's master the present tense first approach" of other academic text books. Also, for the price it is unbeatable. It's nearest competitors in value per dollar would be books for a more advanced level of study, "Practice Make Perfect - Spanish Verb Tenses" and "Practice Makes Perfect - Spanish Pronouns and Prepositions," they are great supplements to any text. You cannot go wrong with Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish!
Rating: Summary: great book but needs an update Review: This is a great book, espcially to use in conjuction with a real spanish class. But beware, its is out of date on a few things. The most glaring being the rules for using indirect object pronouns. Other things that would benefit from an update is the spelling of certain pretrite conjucgations. But none of these problems are show stopper. On the whole the book will do a good job helping you cement in basic spanish.

Rating: Summary: Intuitive! Review: This is the cleverest, most intuitive language learning book I have ever read. I am an ESL teacher and I've seen a lot of books to help students learn languages. Also, I've been studying Spanish all my adult life--always working to improve it. This book is the best, most helpful Spanish text I have ever used, starting with simple cognates, then simple past tense, the progression feels effortless. I couldn't put it down for a month. I highly recommend it!

Rating: Summary: Estupendo! Finally A Spanish Instructional Text That Works! Review: Well, having bought numerous Spanish books over the years, this Spanish instructional text is by far the best! Why is it the best? It doesn't read like a Spanish text, and the lessons are fun and very easy to understand.Learning verbs (my downfall in the past) is presented in an easy to understand step-by-step method. Similarities between English and Spanish words are presented in an easily understood manner. Plus, learning from this book is downright fun! At this very moment I have five Spanish instructional books gathering dust in my bookcase, and one lying open on my comfortable old recliner. Guess which one I now read and study every day. Margarita Madrigal has a winner here!
Rating: Summary: Is it just me, or is this really a Magic Key? Review: When I first tried to learn Spanish, all that I had was an ancient Spanish-English diccionary that my grandmother gave me, and it was taking me nowhere. I went to the local library and found my way to "Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish". I read the book in under two weeks and it was amazing. I could then begin to decipher the telenovelas on the Spanish television, and I began to be able to speak spanish to my grandparents. Along with experience, I believe that anybody can become fluent in spanish with the aid of this book. Listening experience such as watching television is acceptable, but speaking experience with natives is preferable. I recommend this book to anybody seeking to learn Spanish. It laid out my whole foundation for grammar and much of it for vocabulary. It is said that a speaking second language is essential in today's world, this book is the perfect way to acheive it.
