Rating: Summary: Get a clue Review: Obviously, this woman knows only hearsay about the occult and witchcraft. The religion of Witchcraft is a very peaceful one, and the occult is a path to seek knowledge, enlightenment, and one's own personal veiw of God. If you want to know about witchcraft, get something by Raymond Buckland, Scott Cunningham or even SIlver RavenWolf, if you need it softened up. (Silver does have a tendency to do that)As of the general occult, I suggest Dion Fortune. Do some REAL homework before you make judgements on a wonderful practice...we are not enemies of Jesus. (I happen to like him very much) I am a witch, I am proud of it, and I wish a Blessed Be to everyone!
Rating: Summary: Why oppose this book? Review: In response to the reader who asked why people are opposed to this book: I am opposed to this book because it is nothing more than a sell of the sensationalistic, the author of this tripe has been thoroughly discredited by everyone who has done an investigation into her claims, and because it teaches you absolutely nothing about spiritual warfare. This woman is a liar and a false teacher, plain and simple. We are *NOT* supposed to be putting our faith in subjective experience as believers, rather we are called to test *everything* in light of Scripture. Are there dark forces out there? Yes. Do they target Christians? Yes. But that is as truthful as this book gets. In fact, I would put forth that this book itself is one of those dark forces, because it blinds Christians to the Truth about the real issues surrounding spiritual warfare and lures the people who believe it to be truth into chasing after faerie tales rather than engaging in *REAL* spiritual warfare. Period. First of all, the author repeatedly bears false witness against Witches by claiming that they are baby eating Satanists. Does severe ritual abuse happen? Probably. Are there crazy people who call themselves witches and abuse children? Probably. But, to say that all witches are like this is to say that all Christians are like David Koresh. It is worth noting that EVERY SINGLE CASE of "Satanic Ritual Abuse" that has been investigated has been proven false, including Ms. Brown's story. It is also worth noting that the most infamous example of "cult abuse", the mass sacrifice of hundreds of people including dozens of children, occured during the 1970s in Jonestown, Guyana in the name of Christ. Christians need to stop chasing faerie tales and get grounded in Truth. These days there are so many in the Church who are utterly incapable of discerning Truth from the counterfeit that it would be laughable if there were no eternal issues at stake. Use the BRAIN that God gave you and rely on the Scripture that was given to use instead of crazy and/or stupid false teachers like Rebecca Brown, Bob Larson, and just about anyone on the TBN channel.
Rating: Summary: Seeking More of God's Wisdom Review: I read this book years ago and while it was mind boggling I never doubted that the things Dr. Brown experienced could happen. One thing that I knew for certain was that you had to be deeply rooted in Christ to be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. There is something going on in our church at this time that I am troubled by and after praying about it the Lord layed this book on my heart and I went and pulled it out and would you believe that the problem that we are confronted with had been marked by me 8 years ago with a sticky note for my friend to read addressing the same issue that we had witnessed at that time. I know that the devil would have all christians to remain ignorant about spiritual warfare so that we can remain little cowards and continue to run from him or be afraid. One of your reviewers said that Dr. Brown had lost her medical license if that be true it comes as no surprise since she exposed one of satans main playgrounds, he had to get her out. I feel that when we are totally sold out to Jesus Christ and truly born again the secular world is going to always say that we are crazy and luke warm christians are going to say that you have a demon. The same power that Rebecca has in the Lord is ours for the taking but we are too lazy to seek that power. We have to pray and read the Bible daily. The reviewer that said he hope Jesus hurry and take Rebecca to heaven or something to that effect sounded like a christian and just like satan always does he showed his real hand when he said "hail satan" and to create even more of a stir among the dark world if you notice I don't even capitalize satan's name, ever. So christians it is time to "Prepare for War" in the spiritual realm. May GOD bless and keep you all.
Rating: Summary: Drug induced delusions Review: This book is utter nonsense. "Dr." Brown has been discredited many times over. In each book she writes her lies compound until nothing is left of the truth. The things she subjected "Elaine" to were atrocities. The book is grossly inaccurate in nearly every detail, glorifies evil, and is completely without credibility. Werewolves, and other such creatures are played to be real life and prowling about looking for Christians to torture. Here is a place to start for factual info about the book, its author, and purported events therein: Answers.org is a Christian site which gives all the details on Brown's delusion and subsequent suspension from the medical profession. I see dozens of rabidly conflicting views from both sides, though it seems the worst ignorance and hate flows from the Christian side. Think for yourselves. RESEARCH. Don't just take one side's opinion because all but a few here are, in this reviewer's opinion, too biased, or blind, to say anything eloquent about the book; but instead throw attacks at each others religions. There are perhaps 3 reviews here that are trustworthy since this has turned into a popularity contest...
Rating: Summary: The Occult is real & is strong in our communities Review: This book really opened my eyes; having been envolved in the Occult. These demons & oppressions are real. This book WILL touch you, no matter if you are a Christian or not. It will test your faith in amazement. Bless you. -Fred D.
Rating: Summary: WARNING, BEFORE YOU READ THIS BOOK Review: If you're a new Christian ( a baby Christain) or, a Christian whose been a mediocre Christain from a plain church or, a Christian that knows there is a devil/demons but take it sort of lightly or, a Christian living in sin or luke-warm, YOU MAY BE VERY DEVASTED AT THE INFORMATION IN THIS BOOK! After reading it don't get so mad at Rebecca, she's a person trying to relay a message that is literally against the kingdom of darkness, so expect the enemy and his colleaues- even know-it -all Chritians, to make her every move look like she's mentally ill. She's a human and has stepped out on faith to tell THE BODY OF CHRIST AND PEOPLE WHO ARE ESPECIALLY TRAPPED IN SATANISM and think there is no way out (because they signed packs with the devil),....that the devil is real and is trying to kill, steal, and destroy our walks and lives and that we do have power against satan and his demons if we are believers to get back to God and walk with HIM. If she does not sound 100% accurate at least try to understand what she is trying to relay. If she does seem mentally ill is: * Noah for making an ark, telling people God is going to flood the whole earth? * Is Abraham mental for going to sacrifice his son,? * or lots wife turning into a pillar of salt? * or Jesus spitting on someones eyes to allow him to see? * or a very plain man from no religion, being born on earth claiming that he's the king of the Jews that they've been waiting for all those centuries. * or Paul saying the voice of God was talking to him as he walked up the road and that the voice was Jesus who suddenly blinded him and told him that he would soon be preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ * or Stephan being killed for preaching about Jesus and at the time of his stoning he's telling the peole who'se stoning him that he seeing hosts of angels-as the heavens are openng up to him and more and all these incidences would be considered by mentally ill people if it were today (Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever) I guess a lot of Christians still don't know God's personality.....but the personality that THEY want Him to have. During the time of Rebecca and Elaine being attacked by these satanist, witchs etc, as usual, there was hardly any support from the church, the body of Christ-to at least pray for her/them because of the gross attcks. Face it, if you're called to expose the kingdom of darkness, satan is NOT going to attack you with a little switch from a tree branch, he's going to try and take you and your family out (kill, destroy-any way possible) if he finds a way because you're comming against his turf. The devil WILL try to have his demons put sicknesses on you if you're trying to walk with God or have a mnistry such as this, but that's when the Christians-The Body of Christ was/is suppose to be praying and interceeding for Rebecca brown and her health, and her mentality during a ministry such as this. People no matter who they are are not going to be perfect. Be loving and look at the big picture darkness against light is what the book is about Don't read this if you're afraid of the reality of demons and satan. IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT OR HAS NOT THOROUGHLY UNDERSTOOD THE BIBLE AND IS NOT TRULY WALKING WITH GOD WITH JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR, Save yourself from the chaos, DON'T READ IT AT ALL. P.S. from a person who did have cancer and was instantly healed by JESUS CHRIST (put on me by an evil spirit called cancer because I was trying to find out about Jesus and give my life to him) I still became a Christain and when I realized what was going on and that I don't have to live like this and that it was demonically put on me, it left in Jesus' name. Everyone does not have the strong faith that I have that is why believers and Christian are to pray for one another even through sicknesses and not fight amongst each other, critcize etc. and has already had many incounter with demons etc....just for giving my life to Jesus Christ, and trying to walk the staight and narrow path that Jesus has for me here on earth.
Rating: Summary: READTHIS BOOK! Review: This is one of the most amazing books I have ever read. It blew me away! Before I read it, I personally was experiencing some strange stuff... and when I talked to my friend about it, she recommended this book. It helped shed some light on what I was going through and I learned a lot about demons and spiritual warfare. I have to be honest, some of it was really hard to believe, but I'm not saying I don't believe it! My favorite part was the story about how the satanists astral traveled over to a house to kill the people there, but couldn't get in because the house was surrounded with huge angels, arms interlocked. That was the first time Elaine realized that there was a stronger power out there. This is a fascinating book and everyone should read it!!
Rating: Summary: Satan Does Not Want You To Read This Book! Review: This book was truly amazing in two ways. First, it was written with a clear, concise, and straight-forward approach. There is no fluff and not a single paragraph wastes the reader's time. It's packed with useful information and the pace at which the reading unfolds is perfect for the subject matter at hand. Second, the approach the author(s) take(s) is one of the most Biblical with regards to spiritual warfare. Every point is solidly backed up with scripture. It's one thing to read about spiritual warfare, but it's something totally different to live on the frontline day after day. If you want to get serious about being a Christian, you've got to know your enemy. This book will give you an insight on exactly what Satan is trying to do to destroy your life and how you can fight him, both for your sake, and how to stand in the gap and fight Satan on behalf of someone else. Absolutly the best book I've ever read!
Rating: Summary: I've read this book several times! Review: Please bear with me as I explain why I gave this book one star.. First of all; there is no evidence that this woman is who she says she is and that she is a medical doctor. If she is a cancer doctor she would know that cancer is caused by many different things such as an upset body chemistry- not demons. Throughout the three book triology (science fiction for Christians) she talks about seeing and speaking with angels. She also confronts the devil one on one in the form of a handsome man. I'm sorry but many things do not add up. If anyone has ever seen an angel or talked with the devil please let the rest of us know in a review. She describes everything as being of the devil including martial arts; which I'm sure she's an expert in that too. Honestly, I don't want anything to do with people who call themselves witches or satanists or Christians who proclaim that these books are true. I've never seen her on any T.V. show or respond to anyone who contests her experiences either publicly or privately. There is no evidence of werewolves or vampires-- why would anyone want to be around one if they were real? If you are a bible believing Christian get back to the basics.. Like Faith and helping others. There's no need to psyche yourself out and live in Fear of demons and the devil.
Rating: Summary: The way to Heaven Review: "Set the Captives Free" by Rebecca Brown was a very inspiring book. It teaches of the many ways that Satan tries to deceive us and the many things that we do in our lives which to attract him to us. I think that is very good that there is a person like Rebeeca in the world who can write these type of books. In today's world I think people should open their eyes and see what Satan really is - a liar and a deceiver.
