Summary: world of illusions
Review: This book Illusions is a great book in my mind, but to others I could see it as being a totally confusing and nonsense waste of time. If you can get into this book, and your open to new ideas or ways of living life then I'm sure you will enjoy this book. Richard, the main character and the author of the book is led by the hand of a prophet who teaches him that life is all one big illusion. You can sit and be impressed by what you see, or you can become a master of the illusions around you, and be able to do anything, even walk on water. Richard said he wanted to fly, thats what got him started, the book will tell you how he ends up doing it. enjoy it

Summary: Illusions
Review: This is a unique type of book gushing with thought-provoking passages all rolled into a story. You will like this book if you're the type of person why hates the beginnings of movies or books because you can't wait for the action. It starts confusing, and if you really don't get it, or don't want to read it--it's ok. The book does not lose interest if you skip the intro--in fact it's so well written that you pick up on the story wherever you start. But you will want to go back and reread when you're done--I assure you.

It's about a man that is slightly cocky to start, and gets introduced to a book "Messiah's Handbook". Not sure why, he begins to read while flying for the summer with his partner. The lessons are well taught through time and thought. The story is basically his take on the readings, and how they became true for him. Everything seems very magical--but is so real that it's nothing short of intense.

This is the kind of book that you could open up, scan for the italicized print, and read that as your thought for the day--and it will apply to everything you do, feel, and think. And then, just to make it that much cooler--there's a story that goes with it. I can't say how useful this book really is. And if you read the story--at the end it comes full circle. It's great. Just read it.

Summary: Review of Illusions
Review: I probably wouldn't have picked up this book normally, it's really not a usual book I would read but I am taking a Virtual High School class and was given this book. Sometimes the books that you are told to read can be some of the best books. I am glad I did because I found the book incredibly interesting. It is a different way to look at life that I found to be really great. One thing I found interesting was that the prophet in the book never forced Richard (the main character) to understand what he was trying to tell him. He would show him certain things like one time he shows that he can walk on water so Richard does too. Richard chooses to believe that he can walk on water and sink into the ground. As confusing as that may all sound, it makes sense when you read it. "Richard, don't forget what you did today. It is easy to forget our times of knowing, to think they've been dreams or old miracles, one time. Nothing good is a miracle, nothing lovely is a dream." Images may be dreams, but beauty is real because you saw it. This book is about illusions and dreams vs. reality and our perspective on reality. It is really interesting and easy to read. I think everyone would enjoy it.

Summary: The Book that keeps on giving....
Review: There are certain books that change our way of thinking. I am an avid reader of books and because of that it takes alot to change my way of thinking. I am well set in my ways, so when I open up and think about new things, it's a massive step. Thanks to Richard Bach for enlighting me. His book Illusions did just that. It is a Thinking book. I was challenged to rethink my values and question why I thought the way I did. Anyone who has ever read Johnathon Livingston Seagull knows the writing style of Bach. It compels the reader to become something more then just a reader: a thinker. I am not going to dsecribe the story because it will be taking something away from the discovery process the book creates. I will tell though it is grand and if you are openmined you will enjoy it.

Summary: As it says on the back, "A great way of looking at life."
Review: There are a lot of great reviews about this book here, so I will keep this one simple...this book reminded me that all of us can attain heights that we cannot yet see, and that each of us can have the ability to grow into something that, today, we can only imagine.

Summary: Illusions review (Tammy Conneely)
Review: Illusions, by Richard Bach is a book that has left me thinking, and has really opened up my mind. This book presents us with two main characters, Don and Richard, both pilots. Don is the Messiah, who travels around the world, picking up pasangers. Him and Richard have a good relationship, they constantly have conversations, and share their philosophies. What impacted me in this book, were the many passages that were available for the reader. These many passages really got me thinking, and I could identify with so many of them, that it helped me understand problems or situations in my life. This was a true advantage I was able to gain out of reading this book, and I think this is the reason why I enjoyed the book so much. It's an excellent way of human identification, of human discovery, and of human expansion in thought. I would definitely recommend this book for those who haven't read it yet. Overall, it is a real benefit for the discovery and the interpretation of every individuals' soul.

Summary: Illusions
Review: A friend of mine made me read Jonathan Livingston Seagull only about a week before I was presented with a copy of Illusions. Now, Seagull left me with pretty high standards as to what Bach's novels are like, and I was very curious to see if Illusions would reach my expectations. As it turned out, however, I enjoyed Illusions even more than his previous book. It contains the same type of message as Jonathan Livingston Seagull, but the characters in Illusions make it even better than Seagull because they are easier to relate to. Sometimes they are even sarcastic or comedic with one another, and you can't help but laugh out loud no matter where you're reading it. I find that it is absolutely wonderful that someone with such insight has means to share it with the world. This book makes you want every person you know to read it as well. If you are familiar with any novels of the New Age genre, you'll notice that many of them resemble lectures in that they simply name off the many things you can do you improve your life. The great thing about Richard Bach's Illusions is that he creates a plot, which is both amusing and easy to follow, featuring his chosen message. If you haven't already read this novel, it's definitely something to put on you "to do" list, as well as that of everyone you know.

Summary: A handbook for the advanced soul
Review: Is the world what most people think it is? Is there magic? Illusions by Richard Bach is a great book that makes you think. It is the story of a man who is flying passengers for a living. When he meets another pilot like himself a relationship rich of learning and insight to life develops. The other pilot calls himself a reluctant messiah. I started to read this book and didn't put it down until I was finished. It is really amazing because it gives a lot of true insights to life. It is certainly a book to keep close to the heart and read it again and again. Richard Bach wrote a great book and I can heartily recommend it to everybody who is willing to read and think about it because the more you think and put your own thoughts into it the more it develops from a nice story to something great to live by - like your own how to become a messiah session.
