Summary: Is it an illusion?
Review: Short, well written allegorical work. I especially enjoyed the journal introduction. It has a "new age" feel to it, but anyone with an open mind should find "Illusions" a good read; definitely makes you think. I'm still a bit skeptical, but a short time after reading "Illusions," on a beautiful October day, I spent my lunch hour making clouds disappear. Perhaps when I can float wrenches in mid air, I'll be a true believer.

Summary: An anchor to what life can be, if you choose
Review: Years ago, at a most desperate time in my life, I was given Illusions by a friend. It taught me something I had already known but forgotten, "I choose my destiny". I reread this book as an anchor at least every six months and have given no less than 100 copies to friends. It will change or assist to refocus your view of life unlike any book you have ever read.

Summary: A book I'm glad I read!
Review: In the Introduction of the book "Illusions", the author Richard Bach tells me that it is no coincidence that I came to read his book. For me personally I think it was a very good thing that I did. At the time I first read it I was experiencing many problems in my life that I felt were insurmountable. Reading this book showed me that there is always another way of looking at problems and allowed me to sort my life out to which I will be eternally grateful to Mr Bach. The book is an exploration of a way of life. Essentially it is two men discussing the reality of existence. Donald Shimoda is the new messiah but decides that he is really not cut out for it and decides to quit in the middle of a sermon. He discovers Richard Bach barnstorming in the Mid-West with whom he shares his secrets. When I gave this book to friends of mine, though, I found that some didn't get the same out of it as I had. One friend said, "I didn't see the point - it was just two men talking in a field..." Although this book is much more than that it does show that it will be many different things to different people. Maybe my friend had already learned the lessons of life that I found in this book or maybe she just wanted a light read that didn't require too much thought. It is certainly an easy, short and light read, but to look for a plot in this book is to look for plausibility in the Bible. It's just not there, but then that is not what this book is about. Whether or not I would have got so much out of this book if I hadn't been in such a state is something that is impossible to tell. But I did read it at that time and since then I have considered it my favorite book. I continually reread it and learn something new about myself every time.

Summary: How Illusions by Richard Bach changed my life.
Review: My friend suggested this book to me. I read it, and found that it described a great way to look at life. It presented it in an open-minded point of view which set it aside from other books I have read. It has definately given me inspiration, and I have read it quite a few times. I cannot wait to read it again. I have selected a favorate quote from the book. "Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again."

Summary: By far the most re-readable and BEST book ever written.
Review: As a pilot myself, I can relate to Mr. Bach's love of flying. Many times in the air, with or without anyone else, I have thought myself closer to God (whatever He/She may be). In the air is the only time I feel at ease with everyone and everything in the world; a feeling that Richard Bach conveys more perfectly in this book (and possibly Jonathan) than anyone else ever has and probably ever will!

Summary: Learning is just remembering what you already know.
Review: This is a book that always reminds me where I'm at. If ever I am lost, I read this book and everything makes sense. For me, 'Illusions' speaks of what I feel is the truth, my truth. It is so refreshing to read the works of someone who's thoughts are the same as mine, who has got the heart to write about his ideas so others can share and realise that they are not alone and there are many paths for them to take if they so wish. Thank you Richard.

Summary: Who is in control of your life...you are.
Review: Along with 2150 AD by Thea Alexander, this book is easily one of the best I have ever read. Like most of Bach's books, it is very easy to read, yet has depths that few can match. You can read it on many levels, from seeing it as a simple story to using it as a model for how you live your life. The same can be said of Bach's other book, Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Buy them both, you'll love them

Summary: Illusions is a great book
Review: It is a great book for those of you that believe in paranormal stuff. It explain the power of the mind and the way that people sometimes look for someone to answer all their questions and problems. Richard Back tells us the facinating story of two people, both male, that share a bond in time and space, making their dreams come true and showing how fragile life is

Summary: Reminding us of what we already know.
Review: Illusions is not so much a story as it is a journey for the soul. It is a reminder not to ignore our ideas and notions and gut feelings about how this life/universe thing really works. It is a reminder that no one is really alone. We are all friends, lovers, strangers, enemies. We are all one. We are. It would be comforting for many of us to know that the somewhat "strange and unique" way we have of looking at things is not so strange and unique. Illusions, Bridge across forever, ONE, Jonathan Livingston Seagull are all just that. Once when some friends and I were discussing what was so amazing about Mr. Bach and his "lessons", it suddenly occured to us what it was. It is not that his thoughts and ideas are so original, or that many of us haven't thought that too. It is the fact that, along this journey of ours, here is someone who took all these thoughts and images and ideas and did with them something that no one thought possible. Much to our astonishment, he actually WROTE THEM DOWN! -- Jason E. O'Brie

Summary: Truly Inspiring - a book of wisdom of life
Review: I have read this book more than 10 times and learned new things about life from it every time. This book is an important landmark in my journey of self-discovery and spirtual growth.Donald and Richard were just like Budda or Jesus and his disciples - asking and answering questions about life. Bach's point of view about life is very simple - men are free to do whatever they want to do without any limitation. What limited us is our conventional beliefs. So, put it all down and you will be free. I strong suggest anyone who wants to learn more about life to read this extraordinary book. And more importantly, everything I said may be wrong
