Summary: Eye Opening
Review: I'll admit. I don't usually tend to lean tward any book that involves "Book of shadows" in the title. I for some reason tend to beleive that the word of the craft and it's techniques should be spread by "Witch To Witch" as opposed to "Publication to witch" (For lack of better terms). But when this book was put in my hands by the person I consider my mentor, I found the information very aspired and true to it's word. This book goes more in-depth on some very hard to find topics then most anything you'd see online. This book, I saw, was also reccomended in several Pagan and Wiccan magazines. It is highly reccomended from myself and my piers, and I garuntee that this is more then just "Spells and Faerie Dust." This book is more than worth it's turn on the bookshelf.

Review: If your looking to tap into the divine source and use it, this will definately help!

Summary: Very Thorough
Review: Let me start by saying that I like Ann Moura's books, for the most part. To each his/her own, of course. If you don't like her other writings, you may not like this one either. But if you DO like her other writings, then you will LOVE this book!

It is extremely thorough, well written as a ritual and spell book, and NOT a teaching book at all. If you are looking for a teaching book, get "Green Witchcraft III." This is the compilation of all the rituals and magical work from her earlier books, all written out and put into one manual. They are easy to find, easy to follow, flow together very well, and she includes a ton of extra information so it is right at your fingertips. No more hunting around and thinking "Where did I read that??"

Again, to each his own, but I think this is a wonderful grimoire.

Summary: Excellent Reference Book
Review: This book has everything you can possibly need, whether you are a beginner or advanced practitioner, it is a true working BOS.
It includes all of the standard holiday and ritual information and it is presented in a precise, non-fluff way. I particularly like the fact there are so many tables, planetary guides, sigils, runes etc. The type of info you can't seem to find anywhere else is all compiled neatly here with room to add on at the end of every chapter. She also added several tea recipes, I found to be rather charming.
What this book isn't is a book of spells, if you are looking for one of those, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Summary: Awesome reference book
Review: This is a HUGE book, FULL of good information. It's a reference book, though, so you'll need to understand witchcraft/wicca before you can make heads or tails of the information in this book. I find myself refering to this book again and again. Moura presents Sigils, Plantary Squares & Seals, a whole bunch of spells and recipes, a LOT of general and specific Symbolisms, and great sections on Tarot, Scrying, Ogham & Palmistry, among other things. She even has Pagan versions of Xmas Carols...I rolled my eyes about that at first, but now I think it's a pretty cool thing to include.
You can basically look up anything you need in this book. Highly recommended.

Summary: No-nonsense reference
Review: This is an excellent compendium of basic (non-Gardnerian, non-trad) wiccan/ witch ritual, theology and symbology. I believe it will be especially helpful for solitary (that is, not aligned with a coven or other group) pagans who are further along their paths than absolute beginners - people who need access to well-organized, non-fluffy material to bolster their personal practice. It would probably be a bit overwhelming for beginners, but that's not a bad thing as there are already too many beginning pagan books and not enough intermediate and advanced.

One of the most attractive qualities about Moura's writing is that she makes no extravagent claims of ancient lineage and she doesn't attempt to distort history to fit her version of the Craft; many Llewellyn books in the past have been rendered nearly useless by this tendency. The material is offered as neutrally as can be, and therefore it is easily adaptable for an individual's tastes and beliefs.

Is it just me, or is the overall quality of pagan books going up recently? Kudos to Llewellyn for finally putting out a quality witchcraft reference!

Summary: If its so great why are there 39 used copies available
Review: This is another Llewyllyn compilation of rehashed wiccan dribble.
Look at it this way.....How do you get a customer to pay for the same product more than once? By repackageing it under a different label and cover. Any and all of the information presented in this book can be found in almost any of Llewyllysn other books. Dont be taken in by this scheme. If you want to discover the green craft then check out HEALING WISE BY SUSUN WEED. With that you will not be getting rehashed information.

Summary: The Best Grimoire I've ever seen
Review: This is not only a visually beautiful book, but it's an incredibly dense book, chock full of correspondences, spells, rituals, and information. I'm not usually that enthusiastic about grimoire's written by others since many of them seem to be just a way to get their ego stroked. Some are so poorly written, you wonder why a publisher accepted them. One I've read had such poor spelling and grammar that I don't think it was even edited--a big mistake. While I understand that literacy amongst witches has only been common in this century, it still has a strong effect on how I perceive the author when there are such egregious errors.

I've been a solitary practitioner for years, but Ann Moura's book really increased my knowledge. It is probably a bit much for a beginner since it is not a basic book by any means. I've been told that some of her other books are basic witchcraft lessons.

This book just impressed me by the total amount of information gathered in one place. Not to mention that the rituals, spells, etc. are eminently usable and very well written. It was an interesting read just because things like the

Summary: A Complete Reference Guide For the Green Witch
Review: Years ago, Green Witchcraft changed my magical path. Ann Moura's series of books were the first books about the Craft that really taught what I wanted to learn. Not just Wicca, but how to see the Divine in nature and use the energy around us.

Grimiore of the Green Witch is a handy, easy to use reference with spells, rituals and many correspondence tables. It's the perfect companion to her other books. Though they will teach the basic ideas behind the path of the Green Witch, this grimoire puts the lessons to use.

This is not a rehash of the series. It assumes the reader is familliar with the rest of her books, but this volume is only the Book of Shadows. Some of the spells and rituals can be found in Green Witchcraft I, II, and III. There are some new tidbits as well.

Even if, like me, you have all of her other books, it is still a helpful addition to one's magical library. It has saved me a lot of time looking up information from the books in the Green Witchcraft series. It's great having everything in one volume.

If you are only interested in a spell book, this would still be a good buy. There are also recipies for teas and oils. Tables include herbs, stones, magical hours, as well as Ogham and Elder Futhark runes.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Top notch reference book - extensive to say the least
Review: You have to sit and thumb through this book to truly appreciate how extensive it is. The table of contents cannot even begin to do it justice! It has some spells and that is nice, but I prefer to write my own. Far greater are the listings of all the planets in all the signs, the herbs, the lists of runes, stones, colors, meditations, rituals (sabbat and other), casting circles etc.

This is a must have. I can't imagine not refering to it before casting a spell (baring the day when I have actually memorized all the information in it).
