Rating: Summary: most interesting Review: This is without doubt among the very best books there are on Goetia magic. The author's "Master Mandala" is a work of inspired magical genius. While I am a natural clairvoyant, and don't need to work with the magic mirror scrying technique discovered by Poke Runyon, the book's author, it is this scrying technique that makes the book so uniquely valuable to all those who are not natural clairvoyants and who want to see spirits. Be that as it may, Runyons arrangement of the Goetic spirits and angels of the Shemhamephoresh is the best I've come across. I admire his creative and scientific approach to the Goetic and Angelic material, and completely agree with his use of self-hypnotic techniques.

Rating: Summary: Caveat emptor Review: This may be a wonderful book full of wisdom and life-altering advice. On the other hand, you should know that one of the glowing, four-star reviews here is written by "Thabion". If you check out this person's other reviews, you will discover that he is none other than Carroll Runyon.
The high praise given to the author by Thabion thus seems a trifle peculiar. I would also mention that some of the other glowing reviews by anonymous readers do seem to me very similar to Thabion's style.
Rating: Summary: Real Magick That Really Works! Review: This remarkable book is the companion volume to an equally remarkable documentary video THE MAGICK OF SOLOMON. What makes the book and the video so exceptional is that unlike so many works on 'Magick' which are cut-and-pasted from earlier 19th century sources, this author has discovered (or re-discovered) the most effective method for summoning spirits to visible appearance in the dark mirror: he uses the phenomenon of facial reflection-distortion to conjure Solomon's 72 "Spirits of the Brass Vessel"--and it works! But the author doesn't stop there. He goes on to offer an integrated "Master Mandala' for the first time linking the 72 angels of the Shemehamphorash to the 72 Goetic Spirits in a system which balances Angelic and Demonic forces. Using his knowledge of the Golden Dawn (he is also the author of a book on the G.D. Cypher Manuscript) he describes the the true nature of magical colors and how to use them. "Earth Pentagrams" should be projected in "green," not "blue" as some people had previously thought. The justification for these "blue" Earth Pentagrams was the confused and dubious idea that the "Pentagram" was related to the "red" of Geburah-Mars (actually in this sense it relates to the pentagram as the Sign of Man)-and this Martian "red" needed to be "balanced" with the "blue" of Gedulah-Jupiter on the other side of the Tree of Life! Such illogical trains of thought have never been satisfying. The author cuts through such murky conceptions to explain the real dynamics of magical color. Agreeing with Israel Regardie, Runyon uses the more efficent "unicursal hexagram" as a Tipareth symbol. The author tops off his remarkable innovations with the first fully developed Qabalistic straight-line Chakra system based on the secret of The Flaming Sword from the Tree of Life. This adds a whole new dimension to the practice of Western Magick! All considered: this book is a must for the serious student of practical and theoretical High Magick.
Rating: Summary: Just my humble review and opinion of this item Review: Unfortunately, to put it plainly I was disappointed with this book. Some of the material that was based on fact from older manuscripts was good. Alot of the author's opinions are not in line with other teachings and I feel it can become quite confusing to those who wish to follow previously established beliefs and systems in combination with the author's beliefs. I also feel when a reader purchases a book they should be able to have all the info needed pertaining to the subject of the book. This author... omitts or vaguely describs information that can only be found in his videos and other documents, thereby forcing his readers to spend more for additional material which could have easily originally been covered in the book alone. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing, but if feel I am in agreement with most customers when I say it more or less sheds a negative "after-taste" feeling you get after purchasing this book.
Rating: Summary: Solomon's Magick By Poke Runyon Review: While this book had some nice information, it didn't have to have the author's personal life involved in it. Nor did it need to include information on his order etc. There was a lot of 'fat' that could have been cut and gotten to the 'meat' of the matter. As well in some of the things he is asking the readers to do will leave them open to attack. Overall, a decent book, but I think I could have done much better.
