Summary: A must read, for within is explained flying squirrels.
Review: I have gone through two other religons before this, and sadly enough this one is the one that makes the most sense. Even if you have no intention of changing faith, this is still a good read if you have a good sense of humor. Anyone who finds this book repulsive or evil, ...caugh zealots caugh..., is wound way too tight about their faith, or likely is not convinced they are true believers of it. Advice: Read this book, get a good chuckle, move on with life, or get into and speak with the goddess through YOUR pineal gland.

Summary: Get The Illuminet Press Edition rather than the Loompanics
Review: The 5th edition, from Illuminet,(i.e. the one with the purple cover) has an extended introduction that more than makes up for the $2.00 price difference. (evidently there is also a Steve Jackson Games edition, but I've never seen it so I can't comment) Kerry Thornley, AKA Lord Omar Ravenhurst, one of the co-authors, died in Atlanta last year. He was every bit as mellow and cool as you might have thought, and his untimely passing is mourned by everyone who knew him.

The crux of the book's phliosophy -- to the extent that Kerry and Greg set aside their satire and humor long enough to propound a philosophy -- is that creativity is the fundamental good; order v. chaos and statism v. anarchy are only secondary concerns. Reading the Principia changed my thinking forever.

Summary: Live and Learn
Review: Those who know, know Eris and her followers have been around a very LONG time. One can truly learn EVERYTHING necessary about truth and magick here. Just read -- and take the time to understand this excellent book. Have FUN.

Summary: WHAT A WASTE OF PAPER! TRASH!
Review: I thought this would be entertaining, interesting atleast, but is it? Of course not! This is the stupidest book I have ever read and I hate it. There was nothing helpful, nothing on Chaos Magick, it's a bunch of inane chatter with about twenty words on each page with rediculous pictures. I HATE THIS BOOK!

Summary: Ummm, Waiter! There is a Fnord in my soup!
Review: Funny, funny, funny! Seriously though, this book of a new philosophy called Discordianism, Discordia, or Eris, whatever you like cause know one knows for sure. Not sure if they care either. You who read this are now donned Popes of Discordia. Go now and spread the butter on your toast.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: PLEASE FEEL FREE, TO CAUSE CHAOS AT ANY TIME IN MY LIFE.
Review: AFTER READING THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS POSTED, I THOUGHT IT fNoRd would be nice to let people know that the original author was one (or two, i'm not sure) Greg Hill at Berkely CA 1963. Otherwise known as Malaclypse The Younger.

Summary: A Life-Changing Event
Review: Before I read this book I thought I was simply an agnostic with a strange sense of humor. Now I see the Truth, that all along when I saw all that was wrong with organized religion, and that any god of this universe must be a superb joker- it was Our Lady of Holy Discord speaking to me through my pineal gland! I just didn't know how to listen. Fortunately, a (now ex-) roommate introduced me to this wonderful tome of clear thought, and I saw the muddy existence we live through with new eyes. Buy this book. Read this book. Open your eyes to the Truth. then open them to the other Truth. Then, try the one after that, and after that one, try the one over there- and while you're at it, look over in the corner underneath it- hey, there's another!

Plus, it was simply heinous that the number of reviews stopped at 22. There simply HAD to be a 23rd- so I wrote this!

I always was Discordian, and simply didn't know what to call myself. Suffice to say, I now do. Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia! fnord.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Buy it. Now. Forget about how much it costs.
Review: One of the greatest books of all time, it belongs in the library of any left-wing individual. Though it is freely distributable and can be found on the internet (www.fnord.org and www.kbuxton.com/discordia are the best sites), it's best to have the actual book version, because you get all of the pictures and whatnot.

If you don't much know what this book is about, you can probably find out from other people's reviews. After reading this book, you will never look at life the same ever again.

Summary: guerilla philosophy at it's best
Review: hilarious little boo

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An excelent piece of semi-literature, read book now!
Review: The Principles of Discord are contained in the Principia Discordia. Why whould anyone want to know something as silly as that? Well because it is damn entertaining. The reading and proper evaluation of what is written, and then a totaly different evaluation of what is written will grant you with, perhaps not enlightenment, but a state similar, generaly resembling total understanding of life, society and how foolish it is. The "book" more like a combination of humourous monty pythonish blurbs designed to entertain and confuse, and well thoughtout phylosophical statements, meant perhaps to evoke serious thought more likely also to confuse. If you have strong religious beliefs I do not recomend taking anything in this book seriously, but as a joke. To others delve into the complexity of the book, and the very inteligent statements that are here contained, in summary this is a entertaining read, and should be read by all or none at all. Don't worry if you begin to feel confused or have trouble following the plot, quite simply: It is ment to confuse you, and there is no plot! Get over it and enjoy.
