Summary: The book I remember most from my childhood.
Review: Many, many, years ago my fifth grade teacher read "Just David" to the class. Everyday we looked forward to this. About six weeks before school was out, our teacher died of cancer. We were all heartbroken. I can still see her sitting in front of the class reading that book. It was wonderful; just like her.

Summary: A family favorite. Best book ever.
Review: My mother read this book to me as a child, and I have read it many times myself as an older child and as an adult. It teaches the true values of life from the mind of a totally innocent child, who has never been exposed to all of the attitudes of the "real" world, but has been thrown into the real world by unfortunate circumstances. The sweetness, beauty and innocence of this child is so refreshing in this world. My mother also read it to my oldest child. They had regular Friday night reading sessions, and JUST DAVID was one of their favorites. This is one of his best memories of his grandma. She died when he was 9. I will have a first grade classroom next year, and plan to read this to my class. Would love to have another copy. My copy is a family treasure, and I hate to take it to school and risk losing it. Hoping for a reprint. Excellent and timeless book.

Summary: One of Mama's Gems
Review: My mother told me about this book shortly after I began my studies to become a school teacher. It had been one of her favorite books and she had loved reading it to my older brother and sister when they were children. She tried to find a copy in local book stores but had no luck. My sister, upon hearing about Mama's search, got caught up in the nostalgia and located two copies of the book from the original printing in good condition and had them shipped right away. It turned out to be money very well spent.

Summary: A gift fom my Mother, captures innocence, perserverence.
Review: This book touches all who read it. My name is David. My mother got this book for me as an adult. It reminded her of her innocent boy, and his joy for life and resilience in the face of adversity. In her message, she wrote "All these things you either did, or would have done! You are my Davey!" My Mom always calls me "Davey", Yuck! But when she says it...I love it! I would sing, not play, but the approach to life, and yes death, is the same! If you need to talk to anyone about death, this book will guide you! It is so refreshing! I cried...ALOT! I have let my own children read it. I would love to get each of them their own copy!

This is a very powerful and important book!

PLEASE, PLEASE REPRINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: An excellent book!
Review: This is great! I never thought that I would go online and see reviews of "Just David". My Granddad was named after 'David' in the book, and my great-grandmother read it first when she was pregnant with him. (that was in 1916 when it was first was published). We still have the book, and my granddad, mom, and I have all loved it. I love my violin myself after playing for 12 years, and it was partially because of this book that my mom wanted me to play, not that I can play like David could but... I just finished re-reading it again for about the fourth time. It was falling to pieces when it finally got to me, and so my mom asked me to rebind it for her, and hopefully another four generations will read it after me.
