Summary: Haunted Places: The National Directory
Review: A MUST HAVE! My favorite book on ghosts. I take it with me on trips. I also refer back to it, when I am watching the Discovery Channel, TLC or reading about the paranormal. I also add information I've gathered(like a journal entry). It is just good, interesting reading.

Summary: Excellent! Couldn't Be Better <3
Review: Although I would never really want to come face-to-face with a ghost myself, I really get a kick out of reading about them. This book a unique guide to some of the most haunted places in the nation, and even includes addresses and phone numbers to make contact with the actual premise possible. It's a fun, enjoyable read that I highly recommend.

Summary: Great summaries of haunted locales
Review: Hauck really did a good job in compiling information on the sites that he talks about in his book. As the title implies, it is a reference book and not necessarily a book of ghost stories. This is the wrong book if you're looking for more detail than the paragraph or two that Hauck provides. This is a must-buy for anyone interested in local haunts or mystical places to visit. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: Extremely Compelling True Ghost Stories ... ...
Review: Haunted Places, The National Directory is one of those books that once you get started reading is difficult to put down.
For example, do not read the section about Tennessee's Bell Witch alone late in the evening unless you don't have to be at work early the next day. These stories contained in this book
are genuinely creepy and will keep you awake late into the night. Better than coffee. This book is everything a good true
ghost story book should be. Enjoy.

Summary: The BESTghost directory.....
Review: I am a ghost afficianado, with shelves full of books on the subject, but this one stands out. It covers SO MANY haunted sites! In my area alone there must have been 30 sites listed (which is more than the local authors could manage to gather), yet each listing seems legitimate, and checks out with the local fokelore. There are haunted cemeteries, houses, churches, schools, libraries, etc. I've actually had people tell me about having experienced strange things in some of the local sites BEFORE they even knew I had this book... imagine their shock when I showed them that the place in question is listed in the book!

Each listing doesn't necessarily have too many details, but just a short background and description of the phenomena... there are an amazing number of listings for every corner of the country, though! I highly recommend it!

Summary: Great for the average ghost hunter
Review: I found this book to be very helpful. I have always been interested in authentic hauntings, and often find myself looking for a local haunted house when I travel. This book tells you not just about the occurrences, but also where the lives of the spirtis began and ended, and why they have come back from the spirit world.

I liked the fact that it told you whether visitors and interviews were allowed. It was also helpful that the book told you on a scale of 1-5 the chances of encountering a spirit.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to visit haunted sites, or would rather sit home in the safety of their own beds and be chilled.

Summary: Very Thorough and Excellent Reading
Review: I read Mr. Hauck's book along with a series of other books on hauntings and found it to be very informative. It's an easy-to-read book, and Mr. Hauck's ability to convey ideas, concepts, and directions is unsurpassed. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a general-purpose directory of haunted places.

This book is a must for any ghosthunter or for the person just interested in the Paranormal. The book features every known haunting reported in the US. The book also tells you about the haunting and even gives you a address and phone number. The book even tells you how to get to the location of the haunting. Thats why I rank this book five stars. I also recommend Haunted Places: The International Directory. Buy both books and you will own the most comprehensive list of Haunted places. Enjoy!
