Rating: Summary: Pure Joy! Review: As for the "reader" below who is using this space to trash Monroe's work, I wonder if they even read Rosalind's book. I found Cosmic Journey to be a wonderful, and enlightening look at the truth of us all. It is definitely worth a read. I was especially taken with her information on the 5 different consciousness 'layers' and the section on what goes on 'behind the scene' while we sleep. It is a beautifully written book that I found hard to put down. My own experience with OOB adventures began when I was quiet young. But it wasn't till I read Robert Monroe's classic: Journey's out of the Body that I was able to willfully and consciously start having regular OOBEs. I can truthfully say that YES you can read a book and have an 'out of body' experience! I highly recommend Cosmic Journeys!
Rating: Summary: A Book that helps fill your clue bag! Review: First of all I believe it important that you know who is writing this review. I want those who read this to know I am just as open and just as skeptic as the average truth seeker. I am the guy next store with a wife, children, a church I attend and many questions about what God means. While pursuing my search I read a lot and research topics of interest that may help me on my journey. I have read Ms McKnight's book twice and often refer back to it when I need to refresh my memory. The author and the words in the book are not just some wild fantasic creation from the mind of a Steven King type. I (Mr. Skeptic) have attended the Gateway program at the Monroe institute. I have been to Focus 10 and beyond, how?, The science is there to get you there, what happens once you are there is not yet measurable in the eyes of science. I listen, I follow the directions, it happens. Did I have the same experiences at Ms McKnight, no I didn't, but others did, my time will come. Your time can come too here on earth. Read this book, read it again, read other books, and the truth will come. This book talks about energy and energy vibrations a lot. For some this conveys a New Age Band wagon attempt. This could not be farther from the truth. Look at your hand, what you see is only skin, while it looks solid, what we have is solid matter that has molecules and atoms. And physics tells us that every atom is more than 99%empty space and all those sub-atomic particles are moving at extreme speeds through this space, hence -vibrating enery. The void in every atom has this vibrating intelligence. I am not a physicist but this quantum soup is always vibrating, and at the quantum level the space between sub-atomic particles is like the space between galaxies. There is so much we take for granted for which we can not see. I know we can vibrate our own energies to other conscious levels while here on earth. Whether you call them Focus levels or something else is not important. As my journey continues I know I will reach some of those places Ms. McKnight has gone. I just keep my patience under rap and continue on my journey, helping those who need a hand along the way. Enjoy the book and have Joy in knowing you ARE more than your Physical body! Peace-Rick
Rating: Summary: How can this be true? Review: I have been reading and enjoying the works of the late Robert A. Monroe for many years. Rosalind McKnight's accounts of the features and experiences in the etheric plane are consistent with other accounts. However, I was 150 pages into this book and all of a sudden it occurred to me - how can any of this possibly be true? How is it possible to be astrally projected out of one's physical body and still be hearing questions from the control room in the lab and still be verbally answering questions with one's physical mouth while one is in another dimension? Sounds funny to me. I would find it more credible if the author wrote down recollections of her experiences after she had returned to the physical plane. As far as I'm concerned, You can't be two places at once.
Rating: Summary: Authentic Tribute to Bob Monroe Review: I have had the opportunity to read this book, interview Rosalind and also work with Bob Monroe. This book is a heartfelt tribute to Bob and an intimate revelation of Rosalind's personal experiences. These expereinces occured when there was little information and research available to contextualize them. In other words, it was a time when everyone was out beyond the edge of what was known and pyschologically survivable. Rosalind demonstrated great courage in exploring this "new" technology, her inner self and her perceptions of uncharted realms of consciousness. Rosalind is the real deal.
Rating: Summary: An insider from the early Robert Monrow OBE days Review: I really liked this book. The reader gets more personal information on Robert Monroe and also the work being done at the Monroe Institute and what it was like in the beginning. What I liked more is that most of the book is material from higher beings who spoke through Rosie. And as I have found the worlds of Robert Monroe and Seth coincide perfectly.
Rating: Summary: New age blah blah Review: I started reading this book and must admit that the first chapter was OK. Suddenly the OBE traveling starts and it ends in reviewing all new age cliches that exist around the world. Reading some other books on OBE's I can't resist to mention William Buhlman's book. In his books he describes that OBE's are heavilly influenced by our own thought patterns. Here you go, you see what you want to see. No wonder there's allot of same type experiences between her and Robert Monroe. They've been talking allot with each other. Don't believe that what is written is the absolute truth about OBE's and other intellingences throughout space. It's all about yourself and how you stand in the world.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Super. Review: If anyone likes Far Journeys (by Robert Monroe), or is interested in gathering wisdom and knowledge from higher intelligences, this book will certainly do a great job for you. Some parts in the first third of the book were a bit slow to get through, but thereafter it's all excellent stuff, reminiscent of Monroe's adventures in Far Journeys and Ultimate Journey. This book does not teach you how to do OBEs. What this book does is: - gives you a different perspective and more info on the Monroe Institute and Bob Monroe. - provides a lot of cosmic wisdom and info from dialogues between Monroe and higher intelligences (through the author)
Rating: Summary: Perfect Complement To The Monroe Series Review: If you have read any of the other Monroe books. This is a must read ! Rosalind was one of Robert Monroes first explorers. She presents a chronological account her explorations of the higher planes of existence and experience with her guides while working with Robert Monroe. There are people who have died who think they are still alive. There is one very fascinating chapter about an Irishman whose ship blew up at Sea back at the turn of the century. ( THE PATRICK EVENT ) Patrick who thought he was very much alive was found hanging on to a piece of wood from the ship he was on. Bob Monroe, and Rosalind made contact with Patrick vie thier guides and led him to the light and his family. It was a very emotional event. Especially for this reader. bobmck@cox-internet.com
Rating: Summary: Choke down the storytelling to get to the good parts Review: Rosalind is no writer, and it's painfully clear as I trudge through the awfully proper and "grammatically purty" dialogue that only computers might speak. My only consolation is knowing that it leads up to laboratory transcripts from the Monroe Institute. If you haven't read any other book on oobes, start with Robert Monroe's books. If you have read his books, you may be able to tolerate this one. I admit, getting her viewpoint of the lab experiments does give them more depth, but only if you believe in this stuff. Otherwise, her lack of writing ability and new-agey religious viewpoint tend to make the reader skeptical of any data she provides.
