Rating: Summary: Familiar like an old friend. Review: Truth be told, I had not picked up a Jackie Collins novel in about 12 years. In high school and college I gobbled up every JC book I could get my hands on and then all of a sudden, the thrill was gone and I moved on. Then one day I saw this newer version of one my all time Jackie faves and I knew I had to get it. I read it in 1 day savoring the familiarity of the orginal. The characters, professions, lingo, fashions etc. had changed but the same spark that drew me in 12 years ago was there. Truthfully, I was impressed with how well Ms. Collins has adapted her dialouge to fit with today's slang. I have read books by other authors who have been writing a long time whose dialouge never changed with the times. Ms. Collins never seems dated or that she's trying too hard. She knows what she is writing about and gets it out there. Is it Shakespeare? No, but it is a chance to escape to the world of the rich and famous and loose yourself for a few hours. I recommend it to old fans and to those who have never read a JC novel before.
Rating: Summary: Awful book, yet no surprise! Review: Unlike "Hollywood Wives; The New Generation," the other books by Jackie Collins I found interesting and fun. Yet this book was very dull and shows the true awful writer in Ms. Collins. The entire time I was reading this book I was travling by plane or by train. I thought it would be a nice read for a long trip. The book only frustrated me with its obvious ignorance and I simply returned the book to the airport shop I bought it at. I also noticed very sloppy grammar and spelling in the book. It was a true flop of a book that I would reccommend to not even my worst enemie.
Rating: Summary: Is Jackie Capable Of Writing Anything Else? Review: When I was in 8th grade, I picked up Jackie Collin's Lucky and devoured it in 2 sittings. It was fast paced, sexy, and fun. 25 years later, I thought it might be fun to read her again for some summer fun. Sadly, I have to report that this is one of the WORST novels I have ever read. The plot is entirely silly. Despite being English, the author's command of the English language is dubious at best. But the worst part of all is that this novel is not FUN. And that's what it should be. Her characters are so one dimensional/stereotypical that I have more compassion for Dick... in the See Dick Run series. Even the sex scenes, of which there are few, are boring. The only bright side which is why I've rated the novel a star over 1 is the blind items she scatters throughout the novel. For a light, sexy, fun summer read look elsewhere... and if you like blind items, try the online gossip columns. But leave this novel on the shelf.

Rating: Summary: Better than her last two novels, but still mediocre...... Review: While this book provided a few laughs and was at times somewhat entertaining, Jackie Collins is yet to recapture my interest like she did with all of the Santangelo novels. Significantly better than her last two novels which were boring, perhaps this means that she is coming back into the style of writing which we have come to know and love. Regardless, she remains one of my favorite authors and I will buy her books anyway.
