Summary: One of my favorites of the series!
Review: I was not expecting to like this book. I started the series with "The Promise in a Kiss" and was prepared to hate Scandal and anything to do with him (because I loved the Sebastian/Helena story and he was the result of an affair). But after reading this book, not only was it was one of my favorites, but Scandal is one of my favorites, as well. I loved it ~ the passion, the love, the two strong personalities of Catriona and Richard trying to find balance and love with one another. I just loved every moment of this book: the two of them falling in love, seeing Helena interact with Richard, the return of Devil & Honoria and Vane & Patience, everything. I cannot recommend this book any more ~ it's fabulous!

Summary: Not worth it.
Review: A good romance is not all sex - it's about the characters and the story line. The sex scenes in this book are ridiculously long and graphic. I personally feel that sex scenes that leave something to the imagination are better than those that leave absolutely nothing. This book was not worth the money spent. Definately a disappointment.

Summary: One of my favorites
Review: I loved this book. I thought that it was funny how Catriona thought she was pulling one over on Scandal, but he really pulled one over on her. I thought the passion and sensuality of this novel lived up to what Stephanie Laurens is known for. I really liked how this novel emphasized the how deeply one of the Cynster males can love a women by his willingness to let her run the show. I also like how she compromises and learns that love is sharing ones life. That inorder to be loved one has to love in return. That in order to truly receive one has to give. This novel didn't have one of those "mysteries" like the other ones where the Cynster males have to save the female from something or discover some wrong doing of some sort. In this one, the Cynster himself was attacked and who done it was quite clear. This novel was more about two very different people learning to love and live together. I am a big fan of Stephanie Laurens. She is so sensual and passionate in her writing. This novel is chock full of sexy scenes. One has to envy Catriona. :) I would recommend this novel to anyone who is a fan of romance novels. This is a book that will definitely stay in my collection.

Summary: Another Delicious Cynster Man
Review: I enjoyed this Bar Cynster story as much as I did the first two. Yes, the men are without flaws, and yes, that's what makes it fantasy! But what yummy fantasy! The book includes all the things I love in a Stephanie Laurens romance: good dialogue, sexy, senual love scenes, believable tension between the man and woman, the man's respect for and devotion to a strong woman. What her novels don't have (thankfully!)is silly treasure hunts and prolonged scenes where the hero, having left the heroine in a huff, drinks for a fortnight. For me, those formulas make for boring stories. I loved watching Scandal learn more about his lady and about the vale. I especially enjoyed the prolonged visit by the extended Cynster family. I would love to have them descend on my home! I'm looking forward the the remaining books, which I have ready and waiting on my shelf.

Summary: i could barely force myself to read this
Review: i'm sorry, but this book was terrible. i like the cynster series, but this one just wasn't up to par. the plot was weak, the story moved very slowly, and catriona drove me up the wall. i would strongly recommend against this book.

Summary: I agree with Boring
Review: If you like sex scene after sex scene , thin to zero plot, flat characters, this is it. Unfortunately, like many writers, this author is now off my list.

Summary: So Far My Favorite Cynester Fall
Review: I like this book the most because I like Richard the most A warrior without a cause. This book was a fun read and delt with all my favorite themes, love, a strong woman hooking up with a strong man, loyalty, and most of all family. You will enjoy.

Summary: Didn't like it
Review: I really don't understand why this author is so succesful in her books, I found this book boring, it took some effort to finish it.
I agree with reviewer Shellie, I liked Scandal but I didn't like Catriona. The love between them wasn't believable or touching, and the story was slow. I think that the two characters were completely different, and Scandal's acceptance of her religion without concerns wasn't credible.

Summary: I really didn't like this book
Review: Okay, I am going to go out on a limb and tell the world that I did not like this book. All they did was argue, and I really didn't think they liked each other that much. This is the only Cynster book that I didn't like. I loved the others. I even liked the hero Scandal, but I didn't like her. I didn't even finish the book. I read almost all of it, but I felt like I was forcing myself to read it and I started skipping pages. Finally, I just put it down. I know I will be one of the only people to talk about this book this way, but when you don't believe that the hero and heroine love (much less like) each other I feel like I am wasting my time. Sorry ya'll.

Summary: A real departure in the series
Review: I am a huge fan of the first two books in the Bar Cynster series but this was a big departure from that group. I appreciate Miss Laurens attempts to "mix it up" a bit but the story line was difficult to buy (Lady of the Vale) and made it difficult to connect with the heroine. The pseudo-villainess was a bit tedious as well. I liked the idea of Scotland and Scandal was great but the book left me a bit cold. Perhaps, as well, the loss of the glittering London season was missed. However, the relationship developed between Scandal and Catriona was endearing and touching. Not a bad book at all but not quite what one might expect in this series.
