Summary: Candy for the brain!
Review: Stephanie Laurens name should be right up there with Amanda Quick, Julie Garwood, and Catherine Coulter. Her 'Bar Cynster' men are deliciously appealing. Wit and joi de vie reign in the Regency novel and along with her contemperaries above, Stephanie does justice to the period. Her characters are well defined and very sensual. If you want to read a book about real men in the real world than do not read any historical or period romance. However, if your brain has a sweet tooth and you want to give it some candy, well then, read one of Stephanie's books. By the way, only the Bar Cynster men believe they're flawless. That is what makes them so appealing. We all know they're not, but, we are willing to put up with them just like Stephanie's heroines.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I just love those Cynster men!!!!!!!!!
Review: Scandal's Bride is an awesome book-not as good as Devil's Bride-but right up there with A Rake's Vow!!! These Cynster men are all so sexy. I know they have no character flaws which is totally unrealistic-but it gives us women something to dream about. I can not wait to read Demon's Story-I am going to order it the second it comes out!!! I love Stephanie Laurens!!!

Summary: Yummy!
Review: This is the first Laurens book for me and I loved it. I have some very minor criticisms. Obviously the author loved to have her characters humph and hmmm but at a certain point it became much too repetitious. I have many favorite romance authors. I wonder if there is a rule book for them that says every heroine from England, Scotland and Ireland and other parts must have fiery red or auburn or strawberry colored hair with pale white skin and sometimes a few freckles. I find it totally distracting. They must know there is a certain amount of fantasy in placing oneself into the female character. I for one do not like red hair. I cannot imagine myself with red hair. Most of the red hair one sees is dyed and not well. Heroines should be shades of blonde or brunette, a color most of fit into. Red heads, please ignore.

Summary: Better than A Rake's Vow, on par with Devil's Bride!!!
Review: Of the hundreds of books I've read, I very rarely give a 5 star rating...I think I would prefer to give this a 9 out of 10, but since that's not an option, I'm giving it five stars. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and got some belly laughs when the Cynaster family visits Scandal and Catriona en mas. The poor only child gets inundated with family. I like the story, and although I can commiserate with Mrs. Giggles that the Cynaster males have no obvious flaws, I think that's part of the charm. As escapest reading, once and a while its nice to read about strong males who are "perfect", that's part of the escape. Now, I wouldn't want that to be a trend and read it in every new book, but Mrs. Laurens does such a good job with these males that I think that's their appeal. No one believes that anyone like that exists, though we wish they did. I have but two small objections to the book, which might seem petty in the extreme. The first is the excessive usage of the word "humph". I think everyone "humphed", and a page was not complete without it. The other small critisism was the amount of times Scandal appreciated the "swing of" our heroine's "hips". I loved the romance scenes and the quality which gave Scandal pause as to whether this was reality or a dream. I also like the fact that they don't get caught up in the "misunderstanding" plot. They seem to, but work through it and get on with the story. Do not pass go, do not collect $200...go out and BUY THIS BOOK!!!

Summary: This romance novel introduced a new author and new family,
Review: This novel is the first I've read by the author, Stephanie Laurens. I found it immensely readable, with excellent characters, interesting plotting, and of course, lovely romance interludes. I found the family connections, and the development of the relationships in this book to be well-written and plausible. I would rate it highly as a good read!! I hope to locate and read the rest of Ms. Laurens books as well.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent Book!!!!!!
Review: For the ones that are going on and on about it not being realistic enough, need to get a grip. Romance books are purely for the fantasy. If we wanted reality we wouldnt be reading the books. And besides men and woman where treated differently back then. I like the fact that Stepanie Laurens has them married off to women who can take them down a peg or two. Tell Me would you like it if the characters where normal and boring? I think Stephanie Laurens has done an excellent job with this series of books! I hope it is'nt to long before the next one comes out. I also hope that she means to bring out the female Cynsters.

Summary: A Minority's Opinion
Review: I hate "Devil's Bride" - Devil was one of those arrogant mules I use to laugh at in old Bugs Bunny cartoons. And Honoria giving up her dreams at the end - ugh!

And here comes "Scandal's Bride". What a pleasant surprise. Richard is one sexy hero who does know the meaning of compromise! And the heroine, though irritatingly "independent" at times, are likeable.

An easy read except for two things:

(a) The story begins to show signs of sagging after the marriage of Richard and Catriona.

(b) Richard, like Vane and Devil, seems to have NO insecurities, NO weaknesses, NO fear... no offense but making them less-superhero-like will make them more appealing (to me).

"Devil's Bride" gets 2 stars, "A Rake's Vow" three, so in fairness, this one gets four as to me, it is the best of the lot.

Summary: very good, but not what her first book promised
Review: Lauren's first book,"Captain Jack's Woman" left me waiting with baited breath for her next books. I wasn't disappointed in "Devil's Bride" but she has been losing her touch as she proceeds through this series. I love her heros and heroines but this book just misses that magic touch, the sexuality is absent and Captain Jack was filled with it. Get back to your original style, Stephanie, and you'll have lots of winners with the Cynster family.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The Cynsters are wonderful
Review: I read "A Rake's Vow" first. I liked it so much I then read "Devil's Bride" and have been waiting for this book to come out.

I like how the characters are developing from one book to the next. Each book you learn more about the different looks and personalities of the different "Bar Cynsters".

I loved this book and can not wait for the next one to come out. I hope she not only writes a book for each male, but also writes a book for each twin and the other women shown in the family tree.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Ok, but...
Review: I agree with the reader who stated that Devil's Bride, the first one, was the best. I could barely get through the second and this one plodded along. I thought she had me hooked with Devil's Bride and her early Regencies but I started to skip pages in Scandal's Bride! Her writing is still exceptional, it's the female characters that are lacking. The Cynsters are what make Laurens' books.
