Summary: Disappointing!
Review: I truly enjoyed Deirdre Martin's first book, Body Check. The characters were engaging and the storyline very good. When i saw Fair Play on the shelves at the bookstore, i eagerly snatched it up and dropped everything to read it. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED. This book was awful! The heroine was a jerk, and if she were a man in any other story, no one would tolerate her. Theresa was rude, arrogant, and tbe ultimate snob (i could use a few choice other descripters, but i'll keep this clean). she treated her family horribly. i depised her. on the other hand, i found michael to be charming and entirely too good for Miss SNOB. i was so frustrated with the way he pined after this loser for so long and how he tolerated her treatment of him. He deserved SO, SO much better.

Don't waste your time or money on this one.

Summary: More then Fair.. read it !!
Review: Fair Play and Body Check are full of life and romance

In Fair Play, Both Michael and Theresa are believable, real life characters whom you just cant get enough. It's a love story of today's women.

I loved having Ty and Janna still in parts of story, Please Bring all four back...

Fair Play is about life, I often felt like it was my friends and I talking about men and jobs..

I think everyone should read both of Deirdre Martin's books

Summary: Fair Play
Review: I have read both Fair Play and Body Check.. Both books are the best. I could not put both books down..

Fair Play brings Theresa and Michael to life with powerful story lines for both of them and does a great job of keeping friends Ty and Janna invovled in to the plot from her first book Body Check.

I did laugh and cry and can't wait for the next book...

Summary: Finally! A character who seems REAL!
Review: I loved this book! It is well-written , funny and human. I couldn't disagree more with some of the reviewers who posted here- Theresa is an amazingly realisticand likable character. She is moody, she gets irritable, she makes some less than desirable choices- just like I do, and all of my girlfriends do. How refreshing to read about a woman who is human and makes human choices. How many of us out there have nixed a new relationship in the bud b/c of fear? I'd rather read that than read about a two-dimensional clothes horse anyday. She carries on her relationship with Michael in a way that had me saying to myself " Been there, done that," more than once.I really felt like she was someone I knew, someone I could identify with. That aside, she is funny and beautiful and she does come around to see what's right in front of her. To have things any other way would be boring. I am a huge fan of Ms. Martin's, and I love the way she brings REAL people to life on the pages of her books. I can't wait for more!

Summary: Repeat winner
Review: Fair Play is even better than Body Check! The action and romance are still great and Michael and Theresa are even more believable, real life characters than Ty and Janna from the first book. This was another page turner. I just hope Deirdre brings Michael, Theresa and especially Anthony back in her next book.

Summary: Argh!
Review: It was so annoying how self-involved and ignorant Theresa was. Reread Martin's first book and pass on this!

Summary: Should be 3.5 stars ... not bad not good just so-so
Review: As I waited a year for this book to come out following Body Check, I must say I was disappointed. After reading this book in a matter of hours I ended up feeling as though it was unfinished because the ending in my opinion left much to be desired. Michael (aka Mikey D)the hero was great - caring and understanding - but the heroine Theresa ... well let's just say I found her unlikeable. Theresa had major issues from the onset of the book with still dealing with reprecussions from her attempted rape and her reasons for not wanting to date an Italian-American man. Her issues with her attempted rape are completely justifiable but the problem with dating someone from the same background as her comes off as being utterly ridiculous because she basically has no reason for it. On top of that she spins a good portion of the book with a guy who couldn't be more wrong her for obvious reasons that I won't give away. Then in the last 20 or so pages I felt like Martin just wanted wrap the book up so she just threw Michael and Theresa together because she realized that the book was supposed to be about them. Overall, while the book itself is not written badly, I find the story lacking in that one of the main characters (i.e. Theresa) just isn't likeable to me at all.

Summary: Boring book ¡¡¡¡¡¡
Review: Sorry Deirdre , but l think this book is boring ; "Body Check " is a much better book than "Fair play "

Summary: Deirdre does it again!
Review: After reading Body Check, I couldn't wait for Fair Play. Loved the characters- Michael Dante, the jock with the very vulnerable side and patience of a saint, and Theresa Falconetti who learns to face her fears and quit punishing men (mostly Michael). I loved the insights into Italian family lifestyle. My only regret is that I read it so fast (couldn't put it down)- now
I have to wait again for the next book which I understand will feature Michael's outcast cousin Gemma. Keep 'em coming Deirdre!

Summary: This was horrible!!!
Review: I was shocked when I came online to see the reviews for this book and saw that it had a high average. I rarely write reviews unless I feel strongly about the book. I feel strongly here, unfortunately it's negative. Theresa was a horrible person, I had a hard time liking her. She was a snob. And I don't understand why Michael would pine for her for TWO years!! Why?? Because she said something witty to him once? Give me a break. She was horrible to him. They aren't even dating during the book. At all!! One date, then in the last few pages they get together. Huh? I know we're supposed to feel sorry for her, and I did to a certain extent, but I don't think that excused her behavior. I couldn't get past that. I enjoyed Body Check and this was a great disappointment to me.
