Summary: Dayan's likeability can overcome Lisa's grating whining
Review: I enjoyed this book, it was entertaining and Dayan was way less annoying and overbearing than some of the other Carpathian males have been. I like the storyline about the super secret organization that is hunting the Carpathians and the psychics because there can only be so many battles with vampires hunting the mates.

I like how Feehan is branching out and creating other things to hang books on like the research into why babies have such a hard time surviving the first year, etc. I'd hate to think that each successive book would just be strong Carpathian male finds his mate who loves him but resists him and then relents formula.

I would have given the book more stars were it not for the most annoying character I've ever read who you were supposed to like. Lisa should have been left on a hillside with her memory wiped! Better yet, I wish my memory of her character could have been wiped. Every time she came onto the page I rolled my eyes, worse yet, Corinne was made a thousand times more annoying by simply liking and trying to accede to the woman's ridiculous demands. Each time Lisa demanded something utterly stupid and reckless and Corinne ran to her "sure, whatever you want!" I began to loathe her too. I wanted Lisa to get kidnapped or killed or removed somehow and all of the wishy washy "oh she had such a hard life that she can't be expected to grasp reality" garbage just rubbed me the wrong way. I pray she doesn't show up in later books as Cullen's girlfriend.

In any case, I did enjoy Dayan as I enjoy the whole branch of the Carpathians he comes from. It would be nice though, to have more female characters who are really strong and not so stupid. It's hard, as a strong intelligent woman, not to run screaming into the night when we are supposed to actually believe some of the women in these books are strong (like Joie, who only got a short story in The Only One, but who was truly a strong woman.)

Summary: Dark Melody
Review: I found this book to be my favorite of all of Ms. Feehan's Dark Series. It had a thicker plot and a twist... the lead female has a failing heart. Also, unlike the others, this female has been married before, and isn't some quivering virgin. The romance between the main couple is both hot, and very sweet. This book is a great book for anyone who loves a romance novel with a twist.

Summary: Good, but not one of Christine Feehen's best.
Review: I have read all the books in the Dark series and I'm a big fan. This last one is good, like the others, and has an ingenious plot, but it had a few flaws, in my opinion. First, it concentrated on one of the secondary characters way too much. It was as if the author was trying to convince the reader over and over again on why we should like the character. By the end I really didn't like that character at all. Secondly, the people in this book talk much more than in the other books. I like it when they discuss things, but in this one they discuss the same things over and over again, and usually it's about that secondary character I already mentioned. Aside from those two things, this was an excellent book and I definitely recommend anyone who is following the Dark series to read it. But if you haven't read the other books in the series, definitely don't start with this one. Start with Dark Prince and then work your way to this one.

Summary: Dark Series Rocks!
Review: I never read romance novels, but Feehan's Vampire series is very, very good! I stumbled upon the first book "Dark Prince" and plunged head first into the series afer that. It's got a little more sex in it than I am used to in my vamp books, but her writing skills are phenomenal. I highly reccommend her as an author!

Summary: A good story but a little slow
Review: I read the preview of this book on Christine Feehan's web site and was really looking forward to reading the entire story of Dayan and Corinne. Their story is good but at times, somewhat slow and redundant. I like the faster pace and more action packed "Dark" stories, especially "Dark Prince" and "Dark Guardian" and "Dark Descent" (which should have been a full length story!). Maybe it is for this reason that the most interesting parts I found in this book were when the previous characters got involved. It was great to finally read about the reunion of Gregori with Darius, Desari and the other band members. It was also nice to read about Shea and Jacques again and the references to Lucian and Gabriel made me wish they also had parts in the story as well. I would still recommend everyone to buy this book since your "Dark" story collection can't be complete without it. I wish Feehan's publishers would put out her books a lot faster!

Summary: Love vs death
Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was fast moving and kept you guessing till the end. The love scenes and the struggled that the main characters go through are very realistic and one can relate to them. The heart condition, the baby, the first husband's death, the fight for life, love and survival keep the story interesting and moving. It kept your interest even though this is one of many in the series it stands on its own and brings new outlooks into the rest of the series. It gives you the desire to read more and more of these books. Keep up the great job.

Summary: Wasn't the best
Review: I really liked all of the previous books that christine feehan had written but I was really disappointed with this book. It focused way to much on character who were in the previous books. It was very hard to read with alot of interest. Unlike any of the previous books in the dark series all of which I read in one sitting this one was just boring.

Summary: Loved the heroine
Review: I really liked this one, and it's my first in the series. I plan to go back and start from the beginning. This one grabbed me because in the first chapter you find the heroine with a heart condition, and it really resonated with me.

Summary: This writer is going to the dogs !!
Review: I used to be such a fan of this writer but you can take it to the blood bank this was my last FEEHAN book! She has gone rock bottom with this piece of garbage !! There wasn't anything, not one, that I enjoyed in this story.
