Summary: The reason why I read romance!
Review: A delightful story! I adored Morgan and the way Serenity managed to tame him. This is one of the best examples of why I read romance. Marvelous!

Summary: A Pirate of Her Own
Review: Tooooo Sweet for me

I thought this was going to be a spicy romp. No way. I read the reviews of others and went on the hunt at my favorite used book stores for this book. This at no time was close to Dara Joy or Christine Feehan. Give me a break. When I read a romance I want sexual tension, this at no time has tension, you knew Serenity was going to remain a virgin for too long, Morgan was to polite to be a pirate. I want my hero to be dark and demanding he was a wuss. I will look at the reviews closer the next time.

Summary: Laughter and Spice
Review: Girls just wanna have fun! And we do when we read Kinley MacGregor. If you want laughter, spicy love scenes, and a rollicking story, pick up this book. It'll make you say "I want a Pirate Of My Own!"

Summary: Different and entertaining
Review: This book had an interesting spin on the old pirate kidnaps woman theme. I really liked the way Serenity could keep Morgan at bay while still being feminine and strong and I really liked the way Morgan could be both fierce and yet respectful. Her characters were complex and complete. Definitely a nice change of pace.

Summary: A real keeper
Review: One of the best pirate books I've read in a really long time. Funny, warm and passionate. It had everything I read romance for. I can't wait to start Master of Seduction. If it's half as good as this one, it'll be a keeper too.

Summary: Made Me Gnash My Teeth
Review: Having read the positive reviews, I was thrilled to see a copy of this book at the used book store and snapped it right up. It's fair to say that the first two-thirds of this book were entertaining and enjoyable, but whoa...the last third was a major struggle. The hero, who'd spent years efficiently and ruthlessly freeing impressed Americans from the British Navy, became a wishy-washy (and drunken) wuss, the heroine became an unreasonable, unreasoning, unlikeable martyr, the secondary characters devolved into a bunch of comic buffoons and, most unforgiveably, the ending was flat AND pat. Even at half-price, it was a waste of money.

Summary: Frustrating but entertaining
Review: I really enjoyed this book. Although, if you haven't read this or Master of Seduction, read 'Master..' first. 'A Pirate..' is the sequel to 'Master..' Jake's story is first then Morgans. Serenity wanted adventure and she got it. She is abducted and taken to Morgan's ship. The attraction is there but things go awry when Morgan semi-seduces her. I didn't think she had any right to hold herself completely blameless but she did. She was very unforgiving and at times ridiculous. Nevertheless, Morgan understood. This is a good story if at times frustrating. At first I didn't like Jake but I warmed up to him near the end. If you like pirate stories, don't miss this one. My favorite pirate story still remains 'Gentle Rogue' by Johanna Lindsey.

Summary: Romance as it should be
Review: This is one of the finest examples of the genre I've ever read! Beautifully written with characters I cared about.

Summary: A little better than her other book
Review: I bought this book and the author's previous book on the strength of reader reviews promising a funny and interesting book. What a disappointment! I found no true or original humor in it. I also noticed that the author hadn't kept track of details in the previous book - Kit's eyes changed from green to blue, and Jack Rhys' entire personality underwent a metamorphosis. This is not a polished product at all. I will not buy her books again.

Summary: Touching Excitement on the High Seas
Review: What made me purchase this book was the tingle of excitement I got reading the back cover. I can very well relate to Serenity's disposition, I too love a good pirate adventure and long to be a writer. I thought the way Morgan and Serenity were first brought together was supurbly done and very original. Kinley has got a real winner on her hands and I look forward to her future publications. (I also shared some of the book's jokes with my husband and had him laughing as much as I was.) Enjoy this one and get ready for more! She is coming out with a book about Jake and hopefully one about Stanley.
