Rating: Summary: HOT Review: I only pick up this book to read on the plane and could not put it down. I even wished that the plane ride was longer. My first Linda Howard book and certainly not my last. The characters were very real, I thought Dane was just as sexy as any man could get. Steamy love scenes and a story line that keeps you reading till you've finished. Two thumbs up.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, must-read! Review: I had never read a contemporary romance. In fact, I shied away from them, because I thought they were horrid and unrealistic. Well, while I was working at Crown Books several years ago, I was given the book by a friend. I was so engrossed by it that, because I left the book at work, I ended up buying my own copy so I could finish it. Wow! I am now a devoted fan of Linda Howard's, and am always quick to refer her books to other readers. This story was engaging, sexy, and intense. What a combination! Good job, Linda!!
Rating: Summary: Unexpectedly a great book. Review: If you like sensitive romance, definitely a must to read.
Rating: Summary: Love the Book Review: I have read this book a couple of times. I love the idea that Dane was hooked on Marni from the start. He was very sexual and sensual but I was not put off by it, quite the contrary. The ending is exciting and the epilogue is endearing. Would love to hear more about these characters -- possibly in a book about Dane's detective partner (hint, hint)
Rating: Summary: Good Stuff ! Review: Another fabulous, can't put down read from Linda Howard. Thetensionbetween Marli and Dane is sizzlingly sexual, the plot is full of thrills and chills, even the supporting characters fascinate - this is one you'll read more than once. I'd love to revisit these characters...(Yes, this is a hint, Ms. Howard!)
Rating: Summary: Excellent! One of the best written books I have read. Review: Ms. Howard weaves suspence and romance in such a way that one does not want to put the book down. Although graphic with murder scenes, it is done so well that it does not offend the reader. I highly recommend it
Rating: Summary: Wonderfully entertaining. Review: This is one of my all time favorites! I pull it off the shelf and re-read it every so often. Well written with lots of emotion, tension and strong characters you care about. Not to be missed
Rating: Summary: Best of Linda Howard's Books Review: Linda Howard successfully weaves a funny, delightful,
believable fantasy that is sensitive and intelligent with earthy sensuality. It is by far the best Linda Howard
book yet, and certainly one of the best of the genre.
As usual, Howard manages to intrigue you in the action and
interaction of her characters without insulting you, her reader. Her female lead character is not a simpering nit-
wit, and her male lead is not an overbearing boor. Her characters are people whom you like but have failings. There are love scenes, but they are well written and lack the silliness of many romances.
If you like romances, you will probably want to read this book again and again. If you like Linda Howard, DON'T MISS
THIS ONE!
Rating: Summary: A Great Story Review: I sympathize with the reviewer who did not care for the epilogue, but I loved every word of it. It injected a bit of humor that, although a trifle silly, made me like the characters even more. I love Howard's storytelling. She has a way of writing sexy text and great mysteries that make for a winning combination. I just purchased 24 of her books and expect to enjoy every one of them.
Rating: Summary: A gripping suspense story...I'm hooked! Review: Marlie had just the right blend of toughness and vulnerability that endeared her to the reader. Despite her trials, I didn't feel sorry for her but felt along with her, thanks to Ms. Howard's canny ability to invite the reader into the story. And Dane...hmm. Difficult, demanding and devasting, at first, he made you want to slug him. When he reveals his tender side, watch out. Head over heels time. The story is gripping and suspenseful. This was my first Linda Howard book but definitely not the last!
