Rating: Summary: Cute Story Review: Okay can you say cute story. Rachel Garett works the night shift at the morgue and one evening a dead man is brought in, or is he dead? She can't seem to remember. Etienne Argeneau is a 300 year old vampire, and he has one little problem, someone keeps trying to kill him. With every attempt he ends up at the morgue and he keeps meeting this beautiful redhead. Unfortunately, he has to erase her memory of him being there. Then one time too many he is brought to the morgue and while he is waking up, and yet again seeing Rachel, there is another attempt on his life, and Rachel is caught in the middle. Now Etienne has a choice. Only once in his life does he get to bring a human over, and that human usually is a life mate. If he brings over the wrong person, he could spend the rest of eternity alone. Should he bring over Rachel? She's cute and just saved his life but he will be alone for eternity if she doesn't agree to be his lifemate. This is a very lighthearted story. It's cute. Etienne the vampire is not dark and depressing. He has a mom who is just like anyone else's mom except she's going to live forever. This is a very cute story and I would highly recommend.

Rating: Summary: Oh yeah! Review: Rachel thought she had just another "crispy critter corpse" on her exam table; she'd never been more wrong. Etienne Argeneau only appeared to be dead. Once the bullet was removed from his heart, Etienne was able to heal. So, his intrepid assassin had to try and kill him all over again, but this time, Rachel got in the way. After she'd saved him, Etienne couldn't just let Rachel die, so he did the only thing he could do, turned her into a vampire like himself and took her home to meet the family. Now, he just had to hope that the two of them would fall in love, otherwise, he'd just lost his only chance at a lifemate. Each vampire could only turn one other person during their life.Rachel's journey to falling in love won't be easy. Etienne's family is rather unconventional, she's worried about her face turning bumpy, like Spike's, blood is not her favorite dish, and Pudge is still out there, looking for vampires to kill. However, when she looks at Etienne, all that other stuff is just stuff. ***** Like Single White Vampire, Love Bites is an intelligent, witty barrel of laughs. Admittedly, Pudge is more irratating than evil, but that is no drawback. Marguerite, the matriarch of the clan has promised to find her other children lifemates, and this reviewer looks forward to her fulfilling the promise. *****

Rating: Summary: Take your Vampires with a Grain of Sugar... Review: So the plot's a little predictable. That's not why you read romance in the first place, is it? It's the romp on the way through that draws you in! That being said, I can write this without any guilt. I personally prefer comedy to drama anyday, and Sands' delivers this quite well. While the editorial posted by Amazon scoffs at one vampire's surfer/hip lingo, I personally found it quite funny. Maybe it's because I grew up with 90210 and Saved by the Bell, but I love valley lingo because of its absurdity. Vampires who wallow in their own damnation are no fun at all. And that's what this novel is: FUN. Don't expect anything that will knock you to the floor laughing (Single White Vampire is better for that), but this is a cute bit of fluff that's great for rainy day reading.
Rating: Summary: Once bitten, forever smitten? Review: This is the second in Lynsay Sands' vampire series, which began with Single White Vampire. However, it's actually set *before* SWV, so could be read before it. The reviewer below is incorrect, actually: in SWV, Etienne was engaged to Rachel; in fact, Lucerne and Kate attend Etienne and Rachel's wedding. Etienne is 300 years old, born a vampire into a family of vampires. He's not too worried about being single, since he's sure that he'll find his one true love some day. But suddenly he has to make a choice. He's only allowed to 'transform' one human in his lifetime, and most vampires use that one transformation for the woman - or man - who will be their soul-mate. But his life has just been saved by Rachel Garrett, a mortician, who jumped in front of him when a madman was about to try to bleed him to death. Unfortunately, Rachel is the one who's got hurt, and she's dying. So what does he do? Let her die - or 'waste' his one opportunity, transform her, and risk remaining single and alone for eternity? So he transforms her, and he and his family smuggle her back to his house. And, when she wakes up, he knows he will have to deal with her reaction to having been turned into a vampire without so much as a by-your-leave. And that's probably going to be the least of his worries, he thinks - apart from anything else, regardless of how many times he begs them, his family will probably ignore his wishes and tell her just how much of a sacrifice he's made for her. And that, he knows, is the last thing Rachel will want to hear. Coming to terms with being a vampire is one thing; discovering that the man in whose house she is staying has given up his chance of a lifetime's happiness is another. And the last thing Etienne wants is for Rachel to feel guilty. But guilt is the last thing on Rachel's mind when she wakes up. She is a vampire?! And she has to learn to drink blood? YUCK!! Okay, so she doesn't have to suck the necks of strangers, but even the bags Etienne keeps in his fridge taste disgusting. How on earth is she ever going to survive? Not to mention the fact that these new people in her life are just plain scary - Etienne actually sleeps in a coffin! And his cousin delights in serving up doctored drinks designed to make her behave completely out of character. And, as if all that's not bad enough, the man who tried to kill Etienne and almost killed her is still on their tail. This vampire life isn't looking like a lot of fun so far... But then, sex is pretty terrific, so maybe it has its compensations? Another highly amusing vampire story from Ms Sands - I'm already looking forward to book 3, Tall, Dark and Hungry. wmr-uk
