Summary: Revisiting Early Books
Review: For a rather late Nora Roberts fan (only the last 4 years or so) it was quite nice to find some of her early works in a reissue. The first story in this book acquaints us with Travis and Dee Grant, parents of Keely from Irish Rebel. I usually make it a point of reading books in their chronological order, so I was kind of miffed when I realized I had read Irish Rebel before this. However, this story was truly wonderful and an excellent example of how timeless Nora Roberts' writing is. The second story in the book, Irish Thoroughbred, was not as great. The relationship between Erin MacKinnon and Burke Logan doesn't really seem to develop, but follows the standard romance novel form of: man of the world sleeps with innocent virgin then decides to marry her but cannot admit his love for her while she desperately wants to feel loved, not just wanted. The story moves quickly, but one is left feeling a little unconnected with the main characters. Overall, the book is certainly worth the buy and is a must for Nora Roberts collectors.

Summary: LOVED READING THE DOUBLE FEATURE
Review: Going back in time to the basic story of the future stories she writes. I loved reading these stories. Nora is the best. None better.

Summary: Great Book
Review: I am a big Nora Roberts fan and have read every single one of her books. Irish Hearts was a good story, but it reminded me of a combination of some of her other books. The story wasn't as orginal I thought, but it was still a great story with a great flow in the storyline. I would definitely recomend it.

Summary: Not your typical Nora Roberts
Review: I bought this book mostly because I was very interested in reading Nora Roberts' first published book (Irish Thoroughbread). As I expected, it was quite inferior to her more recent works. If she wrote like that now, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be consistently buying her books! The second novel, Irish Rose, was somewhat better. The characters were more developed, particularly the male lead character. However, Irish Rebel is the best of the series, hands down!

Summary: Consistently good
Review: I enjoyed this work, despite the fact that it was a re-release of earlier books. Nora Roberts is a competent and skilled story teller, and even with the limitation of approx. 200 pages (always difficult to find satisfaction in such a short time!), has managed to provide a good piece of light entertainment for her audience.

Please note that either Ms. Roberts was extremely fortunate in that the work has not dated badly with its release almost 20 years later, or she was professional enough to re-work it sufficiently so her current audience could enjoy it properly - unlike a number of my other favourite writers who have hit the market recently with older, inferior work.

Summary: Wonderful Romance.
Review: I just love reading Nora Roberts books. Finding a book by Nora I haven't read, is like finding a present under the tree that hasn't been opened yet. Exciting.

The romance in these books is wonderful. In the first story Dee comes to America to live with her Uncle Padrick and meets the owner of the stable, Traves. I truly loved the relationship Dee has with her uncle. I also like the romance as it grows into true love.

In the second story, Erin meets Burke and decides to travel to America with him. Truly enchanting.

Summary: Still loving Nora....
Review: I loved this book, as I do all Nora Roberts stories. Set in enchanting Ireland, its one of my favorite love stories.

If you enjoyed the Dreaming Trilogy, you surely would like this story as well.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: short but good
Review: I really liked this book and it held my interest as do all Roberts' books. The main characters in both stories are compelling and I love the strength of Dee and Erin.

However, I tend to like Roberts' longer books better, as the longer stories are more detailed.

Summary: Early Works of a Great Writer
Review: I was happy to find Irish Hearts containing Irish Thoroughbred, Nora Roberts first novel. Having started reading Roberts only 3 or 4 years ago, I hadn't been able to find some of her earlier work. I was very impressed with Irish Thoroughbred as a first work. I thought it was excellent. The romance that grows between Adelia Cunnane (Dee), an orphan from Ireland brought to America by her uncle Padrick, and Travis Grant a rich and successful horse breeder that her uncle Padrick works for as his trainer, is engaging, passionate and endearing. Dee's Irish temper and tomboy abilities win the heart of the hunky Travis Grant.

Irish Rose, the follow up book to Irish Thoroughbred, is about Dee's cousin Erin McKinnon and Burke Logan, friend and neighbor to the Grants.

The book starts out in Ireland when Dee and Travis bring their children for a visit with Erin's family. Burke has gone along for the trip on Travis's suggestion to look into buying some thoroughbred horses in Ireland. Burke offers Erin a job keeping the books for his ranch in America giving her the opportunity she has been looking for to leave her small Irish village. She accepts the job. The storyline is a good one as it describes Erins impressions of America and the lifestyle. Fascinating as the relationship between these two strangers grows and the begin to fall in love. I highly recommend both of these stories as great reads for Nora Roberts fans.
