Rating: Summary: Really a three and a half Review: I recently read Ms. Low's book "Facing Fear" and I loved it. So I ordered her first novel "Into Danger", which was a prequel to "Facing Fear". The bad news is I wasn't impressed with it. The good news is that based on her second book she's improved wonderfully! This book was way too repetitious! Marlena's constant desire to be in control of everyone and everything was way over the top, not to mention annoying! In the real world there is no such thing as control. It's impossible to predict with 100% accuracy how a particular person will react and there are always variables which can change the outcome of any situation. Marlena was way too arrogant and not particularly likeable. I didn't really see a connection between her and Steve beyond the physical. And Steve was just sort of "there". It's not necessary to read this book in order to get the maximum enjoyment out of "Facing Fear", a book I would highly recommend!
Rating: Summary: An Original Kick Bum Heroine! Review: I was baffled at first by the confusing story line. Who did the hero work for? Was he a Navy Seal (too many authors are using them these days) or a CIA agent? Or did he work for a made up branch of the service? And the heroine???? I never did figure out what she was supposed to do for a living. Se was snotty one second, insipid the next and totally unbelievable. I didn't like her or her sidekick friend and I thought the dialogue was too dumb to be real. The writing was weak, with too much repetition of words and overwriting. I doubt I'll buy another book by this author. It was not an enjoyable read.

Rating: Summary: Sizzling Debut Review: If you like fast and furious, intrigue and sensuality, this is the book for you. Gennita Low's debut novel is hard to put down. From the opening scene the secretive heroine Marlena Maxwell and Navy SEAL hero Steve McMillan are to die for -- literally. The chemistry between them heats up the pages. The mystery surrounding them is perfectly set. Bravo, Ms. Low! I can hardly wait to read your next novel!
Rating: Summary: Dynamic Debut!!! Review: If you're looking for suspense, intrigue and steam, look no further!! Gennita Low's first book, INTO DANGER, gives you all this and much, much more. Hot, macho Navy SEAL Steve McMillan meets sexy, mysterious maybe-assassin Marlena Maxwell and the sparks between them fly from Page One. Ms. Low has enough twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat and by the end of the book, I was begging for more. I'm looking forward to even more great things from this dynamic new author.
Rating: Summary: Clever, Mysterious, Sexy! Review: Into Danger is a book that is both fresh - and refreshing - all at once. There is nothing ordinary about this debut novel from exciting new author, Gennita Low. From the first page to the last, I found myself completely riveted to the pages, wanting to know what happened next yet afraid to finish the book too soon because I was enjoying it so much! This story has everything a good romance should, but not in a way we are used to reading it. Very strong, yet unquestionably feminine characters are a big part of the reason - and a treat to finally read! The heated tension between the two main characters, Marlena Maxwell and Steve McMillan, begins practically on page one and never diminishes as the story unfolds. Well-developed and interesting secondary characters also add depth and additional mystery to this novel - so much so that I want to read their stories next! I love the new voice this author presents to the romance genre, but would easily recommend that mystery/thriller and espionage readers give this book a try as well. In the tradition of some of the best spy-novel writers, Ms. Low craftily weaves a web of international and homeland intrigue that will keep you guessing to the very end. I rarely ever read a book twice - but I am sure to read this one again, and I am on the edge of my seat for more from this terrific new author! Bravo on a wonderful debut, Ms. Low!

Rating: Summary: An Original Kick Bum Heroine! Review: Into Danger is a wild rollercoaster ride that I didn't want to get off! A kick-bum heroine who could hold her own against the hero--what a concept in a romantic suspense. And the suspense that stays suspenseful till the end, keeping me guessing at the bad guy's identity. I finished the book with a satisfied 'ahhh!' Marlena Maxwell is in D.C. and she isn't there to, as the hero Steve McMillan notes, 'check out the Library of Congress.' Known as the world's most glamorous assasin, it is up to Steve to figure out exactly whom she is after. But things become complicated as Steve realizes there are other parties involved and they are after Marlena. It soon becomes a game of cat and mouse, spy-versus-spy, and mind-vs-body between these two highly entertaining characters. Gennita Low strikes a wonderful balance between romance and suspense, high drama and tongue-in-cheek wit, along with a cast of memorable secondary characters. The pearl scene is hot enough to steam the words off my pages! And the ending joke of that same scene...I hadn't laughed so hard in a long time. Had to share the joke with my husband! And he is reading the book now! I'm so glad to see a second book coming out. Going to preorder it for sure. I highly recommend this book for romantic suspense fans who are tired of the same old, same old serial killers/rapists plots. Into Danger is about the gray world of espionage and no one is to be trusted. A truly enjoyable plot with depth and complexity, Gennita Low's debut novel, Into Danger, will keep espionage/romance fans a thrilling ride.
Rating: Summary: Poor writing skills and a confusing story Review: Ms. Low's suspense novel with a Navy SEALs hero and undercover heroine is a trite and confusing read. The dialogue is redundant and her writing skills leave much to be desired. As if watching a train wreck, I kept reading this book hoping for it to get better or simply self destruct. Sadly, it did neither. It was difficult to figure out which covert government agency was training the hero, and I never did understand who the heroine was working for. Their 'hot' love scenes were merely tepid and their banter was silly to the point of idiocy. I will never buy another book by this author, and advise she take a course on dialogue or find an editor who will help sharpen her skills.
