Rating: Summary: Americans may have some trouble with slangs. Review: Breaking up is hard to do, so goes the song. When Jo and Dan fall apart from each other, Jo is just not ready to let go. It's bad enough that her job is being eliminated and her parents are on the verge of divorce, and putting her right smack in the middle of it. She ought to be able to have a relationship at least!Thinking it would be a good thing to be someone else, she invents a new persona via email and manages to contact Dan through his work email address. At first, her results are less than stellar, but then she scores. Just when that occurs though, her job is gone, and with it, access to a computer. With a bit of finagling, Jo manages to get computer access again, and begins a serious, yet harmless flirtation with Dan, learning things about him that she never imagined. This email romance or friendship serves also to make Dan begin rethinking things, and Jo as well. Dan finds himself torn between two women, the woman in his past, Jo, and the "woman" in the present, who he does not know is one and the same. Will he take the news well if he finds out the truth? There are a couple of other women who just might affect the way things go. *** At times, the plot is convoluted, and some of the foreign language, aka British, might be a bit hard for American "chicks" to follow. However, this screwball modern romance has all the charm of SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE or SHOP AROUND THE CORNER. It has useful lessons about never judging a person only on what you think you might see without all the facts.
Rating: Summary: Read this book!! Review: How refreshing to read a book where everything isn't too sickly sweet at the end (but still has a good ending!). I have read so many books aimed at my age group where the main characters prattle on about their designer clothes and posh lifestyles and don't endear themselves to you at all but Kelly Harte has managed to find a main character who is loveable and (more importantly) believable. Setting the book in Leeds also makes a refreshing change, every book these days seems to be set in London or 'the country'. This is the first time I can honestly say I have stayed up until the small hours gripped by a book (and I still managed to have a huge smile on my face when I finished it). This book is a must for anyone who wants to have their spirits lifted and I have recommended it to all my friends.
Rating: Summary: Awesome book by Kelly Harte Review: I am not sure why I decided to buy this book but I am glad I did. Maybe it was because of the whole email thing. Jo who has left her boyfriend without giving him a reason gets mad because he doesn't try to find out why she left. I think everyone who has read this book is guilty of doing the same thing as Jo. Someone pisses us off, we get mad but do not let the person know why but we expect them to apologize. That is why I liked the book so much. Of course the plot of the book doesn't stop there. You meet Jo's mom who is a wacko and her dad who is seeing Jo's boss. Meanwhile Jo is sleeping with her boss's son. I could go on but I won't. Needless to say, all the things going on in everyone's life ties into Jo's problems but by the end of the book, everything is somewhat resolved. I agree with one viewer's opinion that this was a great book without the usual everyone lives happily ever after. Great book, funny and a quick read. Buy it,,,you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: A quantum leap above the rest! Review: I bought Guilty Feet when it first came out but hadn't felt compelled to read it until now. I can't believe it took me this long to give it a whirl! This is a fun, fast-paced story of a young woman's misadventures with love and friendship. Having dumped her boyfriend, Jo decides to reinvent herself and assume a different identity on the Internet and have an e-mail relationship with him. It is in the midst of sporadic e-mail exchanges that she discovers various inconsistencies and deceit from people she thought were her friends. There are various twists throughout the novel. The characters are vivid and compelling. Libby, a bunny-boiler waiting to happen, is the most entertaining one of all. Her deceitful ways kept me turning the pages. The writing is quick and sharp -- Kelly Harte is a great new author. Red Dress Ink has again scored big with this gem. Guilty Feet is a quantum leap above the rest. Highly recommended...
Rating: Summary: Quick, Funny, and Interesting Review: I found this book to be a great read. It didn't drag on like some tend to do, it was quick and to point which kept my interest. I also rather liked the way the point of view continued to shift throughout the novel, adding funny twists to the plot. Overall, I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys this chic-lit genre.
Rating: Summary: Bridget Jones with a twist Review: I had so much fun reading this book. The plot is jammed full of twists and turns and without giving too much away, completely unpredictable. The lead character 'Jo' seems to have a life full of issues which seem scarliy similar to my own and in the way in which I enjoyed Bridget Jones' diary, I enjoyed this. I love England and have visited on several occasions but never Leeds and I will now definitley have to go during my visit in the fall. Kelly Harte describes it as a vibrant and fun city, full of edgy glamour and defintitely a place to party! I also fell in love with Dan- like Gwyneth and Madonna, I want to date an English man now!! This book is great for anyone who like me, doesn't have a perfect life- enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Loved it start to finish Review: I just knew I was going to love this book from the moment I read the first line and I was not disappointed. Enough has been said about the plot -which is excellent, but what I especially liked was that the charcaters were so down to earth. Real people. And okay, so Dan had a fun job as a music writer, but everyone did more or less ordinary things for a living, just like the rest of us. Just for a change, I really felt I could really identify... A really good fun and quick read - I finished it in a day, but then it was my day off. Can't wait to read Kelly Harte's next one.
Rating: Summary: My newest "Guilty" pleasure! Review: I really wish someone could explain to me how women get themselves into messes like Jo does in "Guilty Feet" by Kelly Harte? Because, we do. We ALL do. Jo decides to leave her live-in boyfriend, SURE that he'll chase after her and declare his undying love and passion. Bet you can't guess what happens next? ---------- he doesn't follow ------- Shocker huh? Well, it only gets better. Word is, he has another girl on the hook. I just don't understand why (supposedly) intelligent women allow themselves to be put into situations like this. It's frustrating --- but makes for amazing book reading :) "Guilty Feet" (a new Red Dress Inc book) is a hilarious and very true to life tale of regret and love. The thought of being "someone else" has appealed to everyone at one time or another -- the question is, can Jo repair the damage she has done. Or is it too late? I loved this book and think that Ms. Harte has a knack and talent for the "chick lit" genre. I look forward to more. Cheers!

Rating: Summary: No comparison! Review: I simply cannot understand any seemingly puerile comparisons of this fab book to 'Bridget Jones'! I love them both, but Guilty Feet is so completely different from BJ and stands on its own as a very good and funny read. In fact the only thing that the two books have in common is that the main characters are women, and they're both set in England, but not even the same part of England! And maybe that's one of things I like about GF so much. Because I got to know a part of the UK that I am unfamiliar with. A really absorbing read.
