Summary: Better than Perfect...
Review: I read Paradise and then Perfect, my first 2 tastes of Judith M. I must say that I have not been disappointed. She has made a fan of me for life! I was also thrilled that she followed up the Matt and Meredith story from Paradise in Perfect. About Perfect, Julie was a woman who has spent her life trying to be a perfect person for her minister adoptive father and his family, I think because she never wants them to regret having adopted her. I think that is Julie's only weakness as a character as she continues to strive for perfection to gain their approval, even as an adult. Zach is a hunk of a movie star who is multitalented and who is totally jaded in the beginning of the story and ends up married to a lying, cheating wife that only married him to further her career as an actress. He learns not to ever trust women and that the life he craves so much can never be. He ends up in prison for a crime he did not commit and later breaks out of jail and happens upon Julie. She offers him a ride and kind of allows herself to be kidnapped if that is possible. It just kind of happens and so their relationship begins...And it is a beautiful tale of tentative trust, humor, and bonding unlike any other. Zach would never hurt her and wants to stop living at a point where he thinks he has caused harm to her. Julie realizes that he could have never committed a murder when he is so compassionate and caring. As he holds her "hostage" he regrets having to let her go, but cannot live with the thought of hurting her if the police were to find him while she is there. While together, Julie realizes that her life before she met him was ideal, but far from perfect, knowing full well that it was love that was missing now that she has spent time alone with Zach. In Julie, Zach found out what life is like outside Hollywood could be like. She represented everything he had ever wanted in his life, despite his resolutions that they could never be. She sent his emotions on a roler coaster ride whenever she was near, from sputtering anger to total starry-eyed love within seconds. She could make him laugh when he thought he never would again and she showed him what true love is really about. When Zach finally admits his love to her, it is in a heart wrenching letter that caused me 3 tissues to dry my eyes when I read it. Towards the end, Julie does something despicable, but is completey justified given her upbringing and stories she is presented with. I forgave her, although I cried my eyes out afterwards, for Zach and what he must have surely felt. Then I was suspicious when he was with a lady from his past. JM never says whether he sleeps with her, so I came to my own conclusion that he did not. Awesome book with incredibly deep characters. I would like if JM expands on FBI agent Paul's character in a future book because I began to get the hots for him in Perfect!!

Summary: Good by lacking something
Review: This is definately not one of McNaught best books. For some reason I hadn't read this one until recently, and I must say I was disappointed. The characters had a lot of potential, but I just could feel for them what I have for other of McNaught's characters. It may have been that I couldn't get over the breaking out of prison storyline, but I found the plot lacked depth. The inferences to Matt and Meredith seemed pushed, and I really like these two characters. I wanted to see them again.

If you like JM, read this book, it is just not one to get you hooked on the author like some of her other books.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: 3 and a half stars
Review: The chemistry between the 2 main characters was what kept me turning the pages but it took a long time for them to actually meet. McNaught wasted a lot of words with other story lines before getting to Julie and Zack. She went into their personal lives as children which was sooo unneccesary. And her portrayal of Julie as a tough street kid who hotwired cars at 11 years old was just ridiculous. She wrote in a lot of other people who we just didn't care about. She gave way too much time to the heroine's teaching career and those drippy, boring kids that she taught. McNaught never closed a lot of the stories that she opened because there were way too many to follow.
All of that having been said, the romance between the 2 main characters was perfect. Their time alone was perfect. And I just wish the whole book could have been about them instead of everyone else. I will also say that the ending was a little disappointing. Julie does something near the end that makes us hate her and unfortunately, the author never fully rectifies it and doesn't allow enough time for us, the readers, to truly forgive her.

Summary: A good read.
Review: When I read the reviews for 'Perfect', I was really excited to start reading the actual novel. I enjoyed the novel greatly, but it wasn't the BEST book I've read. I guess I would've liked the novel a lot better if I hadn't read the reviews that gave out little hints of spoilers. Anyways, I thought the storyline was great, and the characters were very well-developed. It's the main reason I gave it four stars, not three. Had the plot been less deep than it is, I would've given it three stars. Why? I have a few things that bothered me a little about 'Perfect'.
-Where did Paul Richardson go? After he went to Zack with the videotapes and letter, he just...disappeared.
-It seems as if Dominic Sandini also disappeared. After his visit to Julie, he was never mentioned again.
-Haha, although I know most who read 'Perfect' simply melted at the parts where Julie reads Zack's letter to her and the conversation on the phone they shared, I found it to be just a slight bit sappy.
Other than those few flaws I think 'Perfect' has, it's a really enjoyable read.
I must be the only person in the world who hasn't read 'Paradise' yet. I bought the book a few days ago, and I hope it's worth it, since I've read really great reviews on it. I've heard 'Paradise' is better than 'Perfect', so hopefully, I won't be disappointed.

Summary: 4.5 stars gets a nudge to 5...
Review: This book is awesome. I would normally give it 4.5 stars b/c no other book is better than Judith McNaught's Paradise, but then she brings in Matt and Meredith into Perfect. Gives it that nudge to 4.999999 stars. :)

I have read and reread this book almost as many times as Paradise. I just love it. I love Zack and Julie almost as much as Matt and Meredith. I was laughing and crying through the whole thing. Paradise and Perfect make you feel for the main characters, and that's what Judith McNaught does best. You care about what happens with all her characters, even the not-so-important ones. And what is really awesome is they have a double book that has Paradise and Perfect in one. Get that version if you can, because as soon as you finish one, you'll want to start the next.

Summary: Perfect is the book, the characters and the feeling you get
Review: Judith McNaught is the best weaver of romantic fairy tales that I have come across in romantic fiction (and I have read a lot). Even in her contemporary titles, like Perfect, she manages to bring a lot of the "Hero" aspect into normal, modern day men to make you feel that you are reading a fairy tale.

Julie and Zach are completely different, thrown into awful circumstances and yet, it's just another tribute to show that love can conquer all. The story will make you laugh, make you cry and leave you feeling long after you've put the book down.

I judge books not only on their ability to hold my attention while I'm reading them, but also on their abililty to keep it after I've finished. This book kept me enraptured while I was reading it, and fondly (and regretfully) thinking about them when I was done with it.

If you like fairy tale romance, endearing heroines and strong heros, you can't go wrong with this book.

Summary: PERFECT!
Review: This is one of my favorite stories of all time! I absolutely love every part of the book! I stayed up half the night reading it because I wanted to know what happened next. McNaught did a wonderful job decribing her characters, allowing her audience a closer view of each of her heros and heroines. The love story between Julie and Zack was beautifully, and very thoroughly written. By the end of the story, I felt like I had known personally and was so happy for them. When I finished the book, I turned it over and started from the first page again.

Summary: As beautiful as its cover!
Review: ..but it isn't as perfect as it's title. In fact, this book has many flaws and some of them are unable to be forgiven.

First of all, it left a lot of puzzles in my mind. -Where's Dom and his family? why didn't the story mention to them even a word after the world realised Zack's innocent?-Where's Paul Richardson? Isn't he suppose to come back and try to win Julie's heart after explaining the truth to Zack just to make it right for her after his mistake?

Moreover, I hate the fact that the hero's betrayed by the heroine even after she'd already known he love her. I still have a hard time fogiving julie for her silly weakness that led to her biggest mistake. I also think Zack is too forgiving. Julie deserved far more torture, and more suffering, than the story gave her.

Still, there're several reasons why I still give the book 5 stars. I give those stars to Zack, an incredible charming hero. I give it to his perfectly balance in strengthes and weaknesses, his gentleness, his sense of humour, his self-estreem, his occasional ruthless, ..and so on. I give them to a captivating story that forced me to finish the book in one sitting. I give it to those moving and touching moments that made me reread them again and again. I give them to all colourful supporting characters who add the right amout of spice to the bitter or sweet moments of Zack&Julie relationship. I also give them to the heroine, Julie, becase apart from her terrible mistake, her kindness, generousity, capable of strenght, and unconditional willingness to give her love to everyone make her the perfect soulmate for Zact's torture soul in every way.

And above of all, I give those stars to an incredible good feeling I felt after I finished the book.

So, let neither some negative reviewes nor those flaws in the book distract you from reading it. The most important thing is, if you ever read this book, you'll end up love it just as I do.

Summary: Utterly Perfect!
Review: This was my first Judith McNaught book. In fact this was the first romance novel I ever picked up. This book was so good I went out and bought every single title by JM! This book is amazing and it it so GOOD! I fell in love with the characters. Julie and Zach are wonderful because you can feel their emotions through JM's writing. Every time I re-read the book, I start sobbing at the letter that Zach writes Julie. You will never forget these memorable characters because Zachary Benedict has fought against the world and won, and Julie is an intelligent independent woman.
