Summary: Perfect... just, perfect
Review: This is a wonderful story, with charming and very likable characters. I listened to the audio version of this book, and found it to be very entertaining during my extremely long commute. I couldn't wait to get back in the car after work in order to hear the rest... and after a 70 minute drive, I almost drove around the block to hear more! This is a very warm and entertaining story, with characters that are very endearing. The reader, Kim Cattrall, did a wonderful job... bringing the characters alive through her voice, and speaking very clearly with a wonderful speaking voice. I highly recommend this book or the audio, I found it very entertaining.

Summary: Don't Judge A Book By The Prologue!
Review: We are introduced to a hero who's been shunned, disowned, and charged with murder. I had actually put this book aside because I don't like meeting a hero SO down on his luck. Then I read the reviews...
I didn't think any book could be as good as PARADISE, but I was wrong! This book was indeed PERFECT! I've never read a better story than this one!
Zack and Julie were wonderful; both beautiful, kind, and so realistic!!

I nearly cried while reading the letter that Zack wrote to Julie, and again during the airport scene.
HOWEVER, I really didn't like what JM had Julie do at the airport, even if Julie's actions were vital to complete the story. Although not applicable here, nearly half of all women would do what Julie did out of revenge, the other half (like Julie) out of some misguided belief that she's "helping" the man she loves. Good grief, no wonder men don't trust women! It's a no-win situation for these guys. Zack expected complete trust and faith from the woman he loved and it was Julie's absolute duty to give it to him. She needed only to look at Matt Farrell's friendship with Zack to see an example of complete and unquestionable loyalty.

Summary: Absolutely Perfect
Review: Never in my life have I read a novel that were so well-written. The characters Matt,Meredith,Zack,Julie was incorporated very well in the novel. From the plot to the surprising twists and turns were incredible. This Judith McNaught best.

Summary: A good read, but it's not Paradise...nor perfect
Review: McNaught is my most favorite Romance writer of all time. Perfect is a pretty good read but it's got some problems that are hard to overlook. For one, Zack is a bit too domineering for a modern day male. Evidence of that can be found throughout the novel. An example would be how, in the epilogue, Julie had written a book that Zack "agreed to let her write." Huh? She couldn't decide that herself? A couple other examples are Zack's burning Julie's clothes without her knowledge and permission, and his demanding to see what she wore as a necklace by pulling the chain out of her shirt when she said no. Although Zack thought he had a reason to burn the clothes and Julie's necklace turned out to be the ring he gave her, it just communicated to me that he didn't respect her very much, or even at all. I think a domineering hero often works in historical novels, but in a contemporary setting, a hero like Zack is not very believable.

Also, whatever happened to Sandini and his family? Did I miss something or Zack just totally forgot about them after he got out of prison and went back to his riches? Sandini is supposed to be one of Zack's only two true friends in the whole world. (Matt being the other) So I was kinda waiting to see what he'd do about his friendship with the Sandinis, who are a million steps lower than him in the social ladder, after he got out. But unless I missed a page, they were never mentioned again. They weren't at Zack and Julie's wedding that's for sure.

In my opinion, the parts of Perfect that ARE perfect are the ones about Julie's childhood and her teaching efforts as an adult. I cried so many tears when Julie was at the Psychiatrist's office and later on when the lunch money was stolen it's unreal! lol The parts about film making are interesting too.

All and all, it's not a bad book. But be sure you read Paradise by the same author if you haven't already done so. (Her A Kingdom of Dreams is great too!)

Summary: One of my favorites!
Review: When I first started on my whole romance novel obsession, my mom and aunts insisted that I read this book. It was an old copy, with the cover half ripped; the pages tattered and dog-eared. It had obviously seen better days, but of course, been read many times.
I had started the book, prepared to hate it (I was thirteen at the time, and it looked "too long" to read; it would take "too long" to get through). I found myself finishing it within a period of two days; I just couldn't put it down. That was the first book by McNaught that I had ever read, and it compelled me to read every single one I could get my hands on. I can honestly say Judith McNaught is my favorite author of all-time, and this book just blew me out of the water with the way it was written, as well as the emotions it drew out of me, as the reader. I would recommend Perfect to anyone, and I have!

Summary: SUCH a good book!!!!!
Review: OH my did I love this!!This was my very first by Judith McNaught, and let me tell you....I was not disappointed....I'm usually a historical romance kind of girl, but this story was literally "Perfect". The letter that Zack writes to Julie!!! OOOOOOH....I must have reread that letter like a million times....The characters are unbelievably well developed.....DEFINITELY a MUST READ!!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not my kind of book
Review: Though Judith McNaught is my favorite historical regency writer, I find that I don't particularly like Perfect. I don't mind brooding heroes, as some of the other reviewers did, in fact I like strong, powerful and yes, stubborn men (in books mind you, not in real life!). Men like that are much more interesting to watch them fall for a woman than real gentlemen.
The scenes in the cottage were magnificent. When Zack jumped into the river to save Julie I couldn't believe it, I almost cried. In fact while I was reading that part I promised my friends that I would give them the book after I was through, because it was certainly one of the best I've read so far.
So, why do I rate it with 3 stars? I must be honest and say that I haven't yet finished reading it and I'm afraid that I'll never will. The reason I stopped reading it has to do with my personal preferences: I lose interest in a book after the heroes admit openly their love to each other. I love watching them fight or hide their feelings and enjoy passionate and full of wit arguments. So, as soon as Zack told Julie he loved her too my interest died. Ok, I flipped some pages to see who was the real killer, but I like reading romance books for the relationship between the heroes, not the mystery. I also have to agree with some of the other reviewers that Paul Richardson deserved much better and I felt very sorry for him.
I admit it's a very personal preference that kept me from enjoying this book. If you don't suffer from it, I'm sure that you'll love this book since it's very well written and has beautiful scenes.

Summary: Absolute Genius
Review: The story of Zack and Julie is a truly touching, poignant, humorous look at what happens when two people fall in love... no matter what the circumstances. Though seemingly cold and callous, Zachary Benedict is the perfect example of an examplary hero in a romance novel. It is a wonderful, moving thing to stand by as he falls in love. This novel made me laugh, cry, and long for a fraction of the love shared between Zack and Julie. The letter, the phone call, the "date" , and the reunion are forever seared in my memory. The title says it all, this is truly the "Perfect"
romance novel.

Summary: The All-Time Best Romance!
Review: I've read this book several times and it never gets old. It has one of the most original storylines in a romance novel. The characters seem very real, even in such a surreal situation! Usually I prefer historical romance, but after reading this book I began to read and enjoy other contemporary romances. PLEASE read this book. . .I highly recommend it!!

Summary: What a perfect book!
Review: This book truly moved me. I laughed, cried and yelled at the culminate moments. (sigh) Julie was a special woman and Zachary is the kind of guy mama always warned us about (which makes him hot and sexy). This is one book you cannot miss! JOIN THE ADVENTURE OF THIS PERFECT LOVE STORY!
