Rating: Summary: Good Book Review: Although this is not one of my favorite books, it is a wonderful read. The plot will keep you guessing and page turning until the end. Great Job Mr. Johnson
Rating: Summary: The ultimate deception! Review: Deception would have been a good name for this book. If you looking for a page turner, this is the book. This love triangle is one that will keep you guessing, turning page after page. I read this book in two days. A must read!
Rating: Summary: Give Mister Johnson his Propers!! Review: Greatly impressed by his skill of brilliantly depicting true to life characters in The Harris Men and The Harris Family, Mister Johnson came back on the scene and flipped the script in a major way with Love Frustration. This novel is sure to be a favorite in all the reading groups. A story so beautifully told, characters so true to life, a page turner to the very end. To mention any detail of this novel would be a great disservice for all of who have yet to get their hands on this one. To my fellow readers I implore to you that this one is a must read!! Mister Johnson is in the ranks of E. Lynn Harris, Omar Tyree, and Eric Jerome Dickey, nonetheless he maintains a unique voice, an individual with a great talent for story telling. Entertaining, dramatic, and comedic. Love frustration will have you hooked from the very first sentence. Would it be rather shameless of me to say that I am now an official RM Johnson groupie? I am claiming the title. To all my fellow Amazonians, Love Frustration is a brilliantly told story that will quench that need for a REAL GOOD BOOK thirst!
Rating: Summary: Relationships Can Be Crazy Review: I could not believe the talent of this writer. It felt as if these characters were members of my own family and I couldn't put it down until I saw what happened to them. I read "Father Found" by this author and it was very good as well, but this book's style is so different from that one. I was able to appreciate the skills of this author because he went from that drama to the drama of every day life and did a great job doing so. It's quite interesting that I was driving in my car when RM Johnson was on the radio and my sister called my cell phone and asked me to listen to him talk about his book. It took a lot for me to turn from my favorite station, but after hearing about it, we both searched it out. It's a great read and I can't thank the author enough for giving us something that was an easy read and interesting and entertaining as well.
Rating: Summary: This book was ok(3.5 stars) Review: I gave this book 3.5 stars because I couldn't give it 4 stars because it wasn't that good but I couldn't give it a 3 stars because it wasn't that bad either. The overall story was ok but there were a few problems. All of the characters in this book are suffering from just what the title says "Love Frustration" and stupidity. The main character Jayson was just too soft of a man to me. I am a huge fan of R.M Johnson's and I will continue to buy his books. This just was not one of his best books.
Rating: Summary: COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I just finished Love Frustrations and I thought it was excellent! This is the first novel by RM Johnson that I have had the pleasure of reading, but I am definitely going to back track and read his other works! From the well developed characters to the well written dialogue, this book is absolutely EXCELLENT. I have read some of the reviews here and just like my review there isn't enough we can say to give this book justice! I think some of the reviewers give up too much of the story, but the book is so unpredictable you won't want to put it down! I couldn't!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I met Mr. Johnson at a book signing in Duluth,Ga. That was the first time I had even heard of him. I decided to support him and purchase one of his books, not knowing what to expect. One thing I can say is this will NOT be the last book I purchase from this writer. I bought the novel on Saturday and I finished the book on Sunday night or should I say Monday morning at 3:45 am. His artistic writing style allowed me to live along with the characters in his book. I felt as though I was right there watching it happen, like going to the movies. I loved it and plan on going out to purchase his latest novel. Avid reader in Atlanta
Rating: Summary: ARAROJAX review Review: I reviewed this book for my book club ARAROJAX. Jayson had every intention of marrying Faith, the woman that he thought was the one for him, while maintaining a best friend relationship with Asha. Faith really didn't want him but was kind of determined that she didn't want him with anyone else. Asha on the other hand had a very "country, but willing to please" kinda guy but she couldn't make up her mind in which direction she wanted to swing. Jayson tried to get a backbone when confronting the married man that Faith was having an affair with, but wasn't very convincing. I think that readers that have enjoyed past books by R M Johnson will find this book a little different from the others that he has written but will enjoy it. Reviewer: R.Evon
Rating: Summary: First-time reader turned fan Review: I walked into Waldenbooks in Green Acres Mall in NY and found this writer sitting in a corner delegated to him. I like to promote our african american writers, so I purchased his book. We made small talk while he signed Love Frustration and I also purchased another of his novels (The Harris Family). Anywho, I bought this book 2 weeks ago and decided to start reading it just this week and finished it in 1 night! This book started jumping directly from page 1 and never stopped. When I was reading the book jacket I thought this book would be about what happens when you have a man who is now best friends with his former lover and what happens when the fiance says she wants him to stop being friends with the former lover. LOL the joke was on me! This story of Jayson, Faith and Asha(the former lover) took on new twists and turns with every page. Jayson is engaged to Faith, and Jayson is the former lover of Asha who just so happens to live in the same building that he owns. Jayson wants to please Faith so he bows to her demand that he stop hanging out with his girl Asha since Faith is so insecure and swears up and down that he is still sleeping with the woman. Jayson goes to cut his homegirl off and changes his mind and the next day Faith is leaving his building and runs into Asha and she tells her that Jayson is so sorry for having to break off the friendship with her (nevermind that the heifer is lying through her teeth). Asha strikes back at Faith and the truth comes out that he didn't cut her off and that they were still friends that ruffles Faith's feathers some more. You have Jayson: the fiance who hates the dating game and just doesn't have a clue in macking. He wants to settle down because his game sucks. He's gullible and vulnerable, all around sweet guy with the momma skeleton in his closet. Then there's Asha: the former lover who loves Jayson like a brother and nothing more. She is now engaged to a man she loves but is in denial of her closet lesbian side. She is also suicidal but that part of her character isn't fully developed. Oh brother and then there is Faith: you gotta hate this woman early on in the book but in the end she redeems herself. She broke her man's heart when he caught her with another man (who just happens to be married). There is so much drama in this novel that it is too many to list. You just have to believe that it is a well written novel and the characters are very unpredictable. Just when you thought you had it, you don't have it. You must pick up this book! Trust me I don't do many review but I am a devoted reader and I am of the small group of people who are just not feeling Eric Jerome Dickey.
