Summary: How the Womanizer tamed a Shrew
Review: This was a very fun book to read - the characters are very well written and the dialogue often had me laughing out loud. Alexandra's father has faked a betrothal contract between his daughter, Alexandra, and his deceased best friend's son, Vasilli. Neither party has any interest in getting married, yet both feel bound by honor to uphold the terms of the betrothal unless one of them breaks the contract. Each tries to convince the other to cancel the betrothal - and they go to great lengths to accomplish this. Alexandra forgoes bathing and manners, and refuses to dress in anything other than men's clothing. Vasilli pretends to be as arrogant and lecherous as possible, and tells Alex that should they marry, he has every intention of getting her pregnant with a heir, then leaving her for several mistresses. During a long journey from Russia(Alex's home), complete with Alex's herd of prized white stallions, to Cardinia (his home), they have many occasions to feud and bicker, yet despite this, they manage to fall in love along the way. If you are looking for a fun story, filled with lots romantic tension and very little sex, then you will enjoy this book. I had a really hard time putting this book down and was captivated until the very end.

Summary: A Fun Read
Review: As soon as I realized that Once a Princess had a sequel, I ran out and found this book as soon as possible. And I wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed it immensely. I just love Johanna Lindsey's style of writing.

The story of Vasili and Alex was made so interesting by the way they were both trying to hard to turn each other off. I laughed at so many scenes in which their plans backfired and they were drawn only closer to each other. Alex was a heroine I could admire for her spunk, her stubborness and sheer determination. She was the perfect match for such as Vasili. He on the other hand was already on my nerves from Once a Princess. I didn't like his arrogance in that book though I did understand why he acted that way. So it took a little bit for me to be won over by him. But not long. After all, he *was* drop dead gorgeous. And his true personality soon came shining through. He was fiercely protective of Alex and when he finally realized his deep love for her, I just melted watching him show his soft side.

It was so much fun catching up with Stefan and Tanya, learning about what they've been up to. Now I am just waiting for Serge and Lazar's stories. They should definetely each have one. Great book! Give it a try. But read Once a Princess first as its the first in the set.

Review: ...I have no clue when they actually fell in "love" all they did was fight. They were nice to each for like to seconds before their malace for each practically dripped off the pages. Okay, the [physical activity] was good, ...In the end I was hoping they wouldn't get together,...

Summary: Yet another JL favourite
Review: You Belong to Me is a wonderful story, which is a sequel to Once A Princess. Alexandra Rubliov and Vasili Petroff are forced to honour a betrothal agreement that their fathers 'supposedly' arranged. Neither are happy about it and do their damndest to get the other to break the engagement. Set in Russian times, you can just imagine the expolsive tempers that they both have. I loved the manner in which Alexandra tried to disgust Vasili and found myself laughing as I thought that Vasili was a bit too full of himself and definitely needed taking down a peg or two. The passion that flares between them was consuming. Neither were prepared to give an inch. Most definitely a keeper, as are all of JL's books (even the odd bad one). This is yet another JL book that I read over and over again.

Summary: Spectacular Sequel to Once A Princess
Review: I loved Once A Princess so much, I was almost afraid to read this sequel, fearing it could not live up to it. It is almost as good. Which means, it was a heck of a fantastic book! This is the story of an exceptionally handsome count misled into believing he is betrothed to the daughter of his dead father's best friend. Accustomed to having women swoon over him, the young woman he is betrothed to, is an exception, who adamantly opposes marriage to him. Each tries to portray themseves as undesirable to get the other one to back off and break the engagement, which neither wants to do as a matter of honor. It is a charming story and much enhanced by the appearance of the characters from Once A Princess. Well worth reading.

Summary: A Great One! Vasili IS a great guy!
Review: I reread ONCE A PRINCESS after reading this, and I got a better understanding of Vasili. I found him to be very endearing, whereas the first time I read about him, I thought he was too arrogant. He's not, actually. Too handsome for his own good, it kind of works against him where women are concerned. All of his relationships to date have been superficial - until he meets the lovely and spirited Alexandra.
Since she has no interest in marriage, she displays terrible table manners, etc., hoping Vasili will end a betrothal neither wants. But I think Vasili was smitten the moment he began to call her "Alex", her preferred name, whether he realized it or not.
Vasili was a true standout, a great man, and a wonderful match for Alex. And, as I remember from ONCE A PRINCESS, his loyalty to his friends, especially Stefan, was unquestionable.
I liked the way Vasili seemed to momentarily stand aside while Alex threatened - in an understanding way - other women interested in him. A losing battle, that, since Vasili was so handsome. There were no men, or women for that matter, as perfect and beautiful as Vasili. Alex eventually understood this and realized she couldn't spend the rest of her life worrying about it.
It was a joy to read more about King Stefan, although Tanya could have been in it more.

Summary: Laugh out loud
Review: Didn't enjoy the prequel, Once a Princess, but absolutley loved this one. Really witty. I loved the interaction between the 2 characters. Definitely reccommend this one. I ordered 6 JL books over the internet and read all 6 within 6 days and read this one last, probably the best out of the six. Must catch up on some sleep before ordering more JL books. They are so unputdownable!

Summary: Readable but....
Review: After I read "Once a Princess" I decided to read this book because Vasili, Stefan's cousin, is in it. I expected better after reading "Once a Princess." Although I did enjoy catching up with Tanya and Stefan, I found I simply could not like Vasili. His arrogance is unbelivable! When they have their wedding night at the end of he book, Alex gives him her prized horse to thank him for that night. Vasili thinks she gives him the horse because she loves him, and says "Why didn't you tell me Alex?" She says "What" and he goes "That you love me." She hasn't admitted that he loves her yet, and then he says "Admit you love me" and "You love me! Say it!" He is arrogant even when he thinks she is going to admit she loves him! On a higher note, I really did like Alex, for her stubborn, blunt ways, and how she brings Vasili down a notch or two. She is also the first woman to ever resist him, and he is, of course, shocked! This book is a book you can get through, but I think "Once A Princess" was much better!

Summary: you belong to me
Review: this was one of my all time favorite JL books. In once a princess Vasili was very cocky and sure of himself. it took someone as unrefined and intollerable as Alex to bring him down a peg or two. the humor in the book is unrivaled. i laughed out loud at some of Alex's shenanigans. this was truly a delightful story for me. As much as I love all of the Mallory's, Alex and Vasili are definately my favorites.

Summary: Lindsey is way below her usual average
Review: I thought that the heroine Alexandra was horrible! She would walk around and WHIP (YES I MEAN W/ A HORSEWHIP)any woman who flirted with Vasili. She was pushy and unloving even at the end. Lindsey, who is usually an extremely good writer, really fumbled with her character... Alexandra is supposedly in love and pining away for some guy for the past 7 years... yea right, it doesnt fit her personality at all. The plot itself wasnt all that great either... i honestly do not think it is a good book and would not reccomend it to anyone. Oh yes, to correct another reviewr Vasili did know that Alexandra was faking the bad manners... Queen Tanya tells him so...but God knows how he could fall in love with her, all he seems to do up to the point in which he professes love is oggle at her [body]...there are very few love scenes and the book itself is not very sensual maybe about 4 out of 10. anyway this book is not horrible but to be blunt it is just really not worth your time.
