Rating: Summary: Bassackwards! Review: I started this series bassackwards (assbackwards.) I ordered a copy of this book at random because of the great looking cover, I seldome read what is written on the jackets or others reviews of a book as far as that goes. Anywho, in just the first few pages I found myself lost inside the world of Nouri Sommers and Gabe Baldwin, and I loved each and every page of it -- after the first few chapters of Le Fin, I got to know some of the leading characters, I was hooked...I knew I would have to first see how the series ended but I also knew I would have to see how it all began and how each book in the series played out. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED IN THE LEAST!!! I'm most happy to recommend The Lambert Series in its entirety! Victoria Murray has become an author that I will eagerly be on the lookout for!
Rating: Summary: "Suspenseful yet lustful soap opera" Review: If you're into steamy romantic suspense, this is it--the Lambert series (a set of 4 books), is a suspenseful yet lustful soap opera mixing mystery and intrigue with romance. I enjoyed this story very much and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre. Waiting for more books by Victoria Taylor Murray to hit the online bookshelves! (I hated to see this fun series end!!!)
Rating: Summary: "Brava!!!" Review: I am a big fan of this series and enjoyed all (4) books connected with it. If you are a fan of this writer this book should be high on your list to check out! The suspense is delicious and the romance sizzles!
Rating: Summary: Le Fin ......... Molly's Reviews Review: Title: .Le Fin Genre: Romantic Thriller Author: . Victoria Taylor Murray Line/Publisher: Publish America ISBN: 1 59129 874 1 Interesting read Recommended 5 starsThe Review Six weeks after the most upsetting week Nouri St Charles Sommers has ever experienced, Ethan Sommers is dead leaving his widow Nouri a very rich woman. Clint Chamberlain, Ethan's attorney and Nouri's sometime sweetheart has disappeared. PI Charles Mason is engaged to marry DA Tonya Daughtery and Nouri has fallen in love with Boston detective Gabe Baldwin. Baldwin is the detective who has been given the task of protecting Nouri from threats against her life. Gabe's ability to fill a room with roses and buy designer clothing is explained at last, and Gabe and Nouri have had a serious tiff leading to Gabe returning to his former fiancée. Just when it seems that nothing more can happen Chamberlain and his Nouri look alike mistress resurface and Nouri is involved in a death defying auto crash. From the opening paragraphs wherein the reader listens in while Gabe is talking to his fiancée Lisa Clayborne on the telephone, to the last sentences with a mystified Nouri cuddled in the arms of her husband the reader is carried on a fast paced action packed drama. Writer Murray shows an adroit deftness as she gathers all the loose ends left dangling in the first three books of the series and has woven a satisfying conclusion to the narrative. Writer Murray exhibits a canny knack for clever presentation. Her settings are clearly drawn, bring the reader right into the action and serve as a springboard for the characters she places against them. Murray's hearty, often inflexible characters performing against a setting of scheming, deception and ongoing trysts continue as before with cupidity, mendacity and misunderstanding appearing rampant throughout the work. The narrative carries the reader on a fast ride from Connecticut to Boston and then back to Connecticut again before returning to Lambert on Eastern Bay near Cape Cod. Le Fin clarifies for readers much of the provocation behind Ethan Sommers and his subsequent demise, as well as exemplifying for the reader the rational motivating Gabe and his long time friend PI Charles Mason. Gabe and Mason are often both irritating and endearing all within the space of a few lines. I found much to like in both characters. The four volume series portraying dissolution caused by attainment of affluence without maintaining a solid principled value system is a poignant recital. The lack of joy engendered by wealth as we watch the yearnings of a crowd of often desperate and lonely people who are not always certain what they want even when it is before them makes for an entertaining read. With wit and style writer Murray continues some tongue in cheek cliché in her work. There are some small areas where editing might be in order to tighten up the -ly endings, however on the whole Le Fin moves right along, the overall premise line is convincing and Author Murray's wit and writing style does hold the interest of the reader. Good book for a lazy afternoon spent sipping tea and reading in the porch swing. True to the Genre. Not for everyone, some graphic sex, some profanity
Rating: Summary: Why does it have to end here? Review: Darn, I finally find a romantic suspense series that I was really getting into and then it stops! BUMMER! Hope Ms. Murray changes her mind and brings the Lambert series back again real soon!!!
Rating: Summary: An ending that worked for me, Review: Le Fin (The Ending), of this writer's Lambert series, worked for me. I honestly didn't expect the four-book series to end the way it did. I was both pleased and sad. Why sad? Because I hated for Nouri and company to come to an end. I hope Ms. Murray changes her mind and brings her fantastic characters back again real soon! I will miss them!
