Summary: What a disappointing hero!
Review: Many people have complained about the heroine in this story, but I have issues with the hero. What a boring, judgmental, stick in the mud! I do not see what Alix saw in him. He was the major problem in this book for me. I enjoyed the first half, even laughing out loud, but eventually my dislike of the hero took away any enjoyment I had in the book.

Summary: Charming, delightful, fresh, best read in ages!!
Review: My first review, so taking the plunge, you know it is a book that really moved me. My sister-in-law loved this book and gave me copy for a present and OHHHH I thank her!!

Hats off to the brilliant Katie MacAlister for giving us a wonderful charming, quirky female who is not perfect!! It's SOOOOO nice to have a 'human' person with faults - LIKE THE REST OF US!!

I don't think any book has ever warmed my heart or charmed me more. That said, think the Yanks will not get the humour and that is a shame.

This book is like the last couple for Katherine Deauxville, that I happened to adore. Fear a few just won't catch the fun!

I simply LOVED this book and cannot wait to read more from this author.

Summary: Lighten UP! It's a comedy! (And I laughed myself silly)!
Review: Oh dear bad reviewers...lighten up! This book has an incredibly flawed heroine who doesn't see her own flaws until near the end of the book - and her journey to self-realization is hysterical! No, this book is not your common "cookie-cutter" romance with typically perfect people, it's much more refreshing than that! (And who isn't tired of the "perfect" boy meeting the "perfect" girl and having the "perfect" romance? Puh-lease! IMPROPER ENGLISH is so much fun, and so completely funny at times, you really will laugh out loud. Alex is a dream and Alix (yes, the names are the same, but spelled differently), is the funny, quirky, flawed person inside all of us. Alix does understand the error of her ways, eventually and Alex is a true hero for waiting for her. Yes, this book is irreverent, yes it's silly and YES it is fabulous! I can't wait to read Miss MacAlister's next book! Thanks Katie, for not churning out a typical "Cookie-cutter" romance!

Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!!
Review: Okies...what a gem!! I laughed so hard think I hurt myself! I simply loved Alix and Alex. Loved Alix's attempt at writing, can related to her insecurities and the needs to pick out a stupid excuse to distance yourself in order to keep from getting hurt. I loved the odd ball tenants in the flats that surround them.

Sheesh...I just loved this book...what more can I say!!

Thank you, Miss MacAlister. I am eagerly awaiting you other books!!

Summary: BAD English
Review: Other than a few mildly humorous comments by the main character, I was extremely disappointed in this book. The main character was so unlikable that it just made the book unenjoyable.

Summary: ...
Review: Someone at a Jane Austen web site recommended this book so I got it. Total waste of my time and money. The writing is painful. The lead character is so obnoxious that you hope NOT to have a 'happy everafter' ending. I got rid of the book quickly; I didn't even want it in the house lest someone think I like this sort of junk.

Summary: Simply Irresistible!!
Review: Think this books should come with a CD of Robert Palmer's simply irresistible!! This book was so funny. My sister gave it to me along with Melanie Jackson's Selkie (almost done so will write one that one next!)on the condition I write reviews.

I really hurt myself, nearly choked reading Alix 'book'. Oh WOW! that was SO Funny. But was surprised by how very human and vulnerable Alix was. She's not perfect, but guess what, so I am, so it was nice to have a heroine that felt like a girlfriend!! How many girlfriends do you have you really think needs a swift kick once in a while, but you still utterly love them??? That is adorable Alix!

And Alex?? Hum on a 1 to 10 scale, 1 being the harry guy at the garage and 10 being JD Robb's Roarke.....Alex is a 9.5!

This is one of the best books I have read in a long time.

Summary: Funny!!!
Review: This was certainly not your typical contemp. romance! I thought it was absolutely hillarious!! I have never laughed so hard over the antics of a mascara blob! Yes, the heroine is seriously flawed; Yes, the hero could be a stick in the mud; But it was a very enjoyable read, and I would recomend it to my friends!
