Summary: A excellent read!!!
Review: Eric Jerome Dickey did it again!!!! This book is by far the best one that I have read. It is about two people struggling to be what the other one wants and needs, but all the while they are really hiding who they really are. This books focuses so much on what to many people are scared to admit, you have to accept people for who they are including all the baggage they may come with them. It is about giving second and sometimes third chances in the name of love. It is about learning about yourself as a person before you can bring love into a relationship with another. Summary: Skeletons in open closets...
Review: I am enjoying Dickey's depiction of the late twentysomething and 30's crowd. What's really enjoyable about this book is the things that I'm learning and his use of non-fictional references. It's nice to read fiction that seems so realistic. Plus, alot of kudos for his use of everyday language that has me laughing out loud, especially when describing his characters. For example, I got a good laugh at his description of Harmonica, and how a 'crop of razor bumps lived under his chin'. And how Harmonica says 'brang'. I wasn't expecting all these little extra treats that makes this book so enjoyable. Keep up the excellent work and I'll keep buying. Thanks.

Summary: A Big, Fat Disappointment
Review: I was very disappointed by this book. Perhaps my first clue was the fact that this book could not hold my attention. I must have put it down and picked it back up a hundred times before it actually got interesting to me. Couple that with Dana's irritating personality traits and Vince's baby-mama-drama and you have the makings of a not-so-great book. I have always been a fan of EJD, and have read all of his other books, but Liar's Game was almost enough to make me change my mind. Better luck next time....

Review: What can I say except the hits just keep coming and coming. Dickey has once again delivered a wonderful tale about realistic people living life the way it is meant to be lived. All I can say is I am glad he has decided to share his gift with the world.

Summary: Engrossing
Review: Liar's Game is a story of getting to, getting through, and getting out of relationships. This novel exposes the rhapsody, fear, betrayal, failure, and triumphs of different types of relationships...going beyond initial attraction, supple dating, and passionate entangled bodies, and into what occurs when you really get to know your lover... I truly felt like I was a fly on the wall throughout Vince and Dana's tumultuous relationship...feeling their pain and confusion. I especially felt Dana's pain of missing New York. Toward the end of the novel, Eric gave Dana a page or two to release her nostalgia for the place she previously called home. Having just relocated to California myself from the East Coast, I totally related and felt what Dana expressed. Vivid details and words took me right into Dana's mind, where I could see the places she described and the penchant longing she felt. Eric's previous novels were excellent stories that entertained me, and I just enjoyed them. With Liar's Game, Eric went deep, his emotion filled words lured me into the situations before I even knew what was happening. Liar's Game didn't just entertain me, I felt it.

Summary: This one missed the mark.
Review: I was't not impressed with Liar's game at all. It lacked identity. I could not distinguish this book from Cheaters, Milk in My Coffee or Friends and Lovers. The characters were damn near identical. The same basic story line, boy meets girl, they date, have explicit sex, go through unrealistic drama, break up then go through some lame self exploration and some how work things out. The one positive thing that I want to say is there was no "Jerry Springer" drama in this one. I think Mr. Dickey tried to go for substance this time around. I for one am pleased about that. Of course I like to read about folks clowning and acting a fool, just not all the time, I want susbtance. I want to take something away from the novel. Which brings me to my final point. What was this story about? What was I susposed to get from reading this? I couldn't find the moral or the point of view of this story. Mr. Dickey I think that you are a talented author but this one left something to be desired. Waiting for your next one.

Summary: Move Over Terry McMillan
Review: Eric has done it again. I can't help but love the man's work. I always wait for him to drop a new book and every time he never disappoints me. The characters he has in this book as well as his others are so real. I could totally feel how confused and betrayed the lead charcters Dana and Vincent felt. Eric really knows how to draw the reader into the books he writes. This is definitely a must read. If you haven't read any of his books you definitely need to start, better late than never. Was it just me who thought Dana's best friend was off the hook?

Summary: A new twist
Review: I'm so use to the happy endings with Eric's books. There's always characters that you want to end up together in the end. This book gave a new twist to his style. In the Liar's Game characters that I liked in the beginning I didn't care for them in the end. Every character in this book was real to the touch. I got a clear view of their personalities. It was so clear that I cringed when it was time to read some of their thoughts. This book dealt with a serious matter, but was funny at the same time. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. Some of the sayings I intent to incorporate in my daily life. Thank you Eric for taking me away from my life and showing me that things are not always that bad.

Summary: The Boy's done it again!!!!
Review: Hey, what can I say the book speaks for itself. It has so much drama in it, you have to be careful when reading, because it's deffinately going to remind you of someone you know. The book was great, I didn't like the way his ex-wife kept him from his daughter, just because she had remarried, it kept me guessing about what was going to happen, and I love that.It's another best seller, alright I'm waiting on the next one.

Summary: Eric at his best
Review: I have read all of Eric's novels, and this one was just fabulous. I couldn't stop reading this book. He's my favorite author now. I can't wait for his next book, whenever that will be. But if anyone out there who is unsure about reading his books. Take it from me he's good, he's worth paying the money for. Eric if you are reading this, Please Please Please keep up the good work. You are an excellent writer.
