Summary: Liked It
Review: I liked the book deeply. It touched on major issues in african american relationships today. I just didn't like the way he ended the book. I wish he would go back to the endings of his first three novels. But Dickey is a good writer and i hope he keeps up the good work

Summary: Eric is truly amazing!
Review: Eric has done it again! I picked up the book and could not put it down. I could relate to every aspect of the story, especially the area it was set in. I knew where everyone of those "spots" were. All the characters were developed, some more than others. I had a little problem with Dana, however, and I felt she did not deserve a man like Vince since she was so unfair and untruthful to him, even after he was truthful with her. God Bless you Eric, you are truly a prolific writer!

Summary: The way you do the things you do!
Review: I liked this book tremendously! I have read all of EJD's books and even though CHEATERS is my all time favorite, I could not put this book down until I was finished. I didn't particularly like Dana but she is as real as real can get. Eric is the only male author that I have read that can capture a woman just as well if not better than another woman. His stories are real and make you feel like you are right there living and breathing his characters. I love the way his storyline envelopes you. All I can say is when does the next book come out!

Summary: Lies, Lies and more Lies
Review: One lie lead to another lie and so on and on. Just tell the truth from just start.

EJD is one of my favorite authors. I've been with him from the beginning and still holding on strong. I enjoyed reading this DRAMA filled novel. From reading some of the reviews it appears that some readers didn't care a great deal for Dana. I liked her. Yes, she made some stupid mistakes but who hasn't?

As always, I enjoyed the unique writing style of this great author. All the characters were exciting. If you haven't read this novel yet, you are missing a treat. Be Blessed!

Summary: Enjoyable, but not his best
Review: Dickey has a writing style that is enjoyable and funny. He captured my interest in 'Sister, Sister' which remains my favorite of all of his books. This book is an enjoyable, easy read...perfect for a relaxing day on the beach, which is where I read it.

I struggled, however, with some of the basic premises of the book.

For Vince, I found it very unrealistic that his ex-wife could take his daughter out of the country leaglly. There was no mention of legal custody of the child and even if his ex had legal cutody, she would have to have Vince's written permission to allow her out of the country. This whole area of Vince's inability to see his daughter, sending money to his ex's mother, no clear custody rights, etc., left me feeling that Dickey didn't do his homework on this subject, and yet it is a basic theme in the book.

Dickey tried to portray the Cancer personality in Vince and the Gemini personality in Dana. Again, I do not think that he did his homework. (I am a female Gemini married to a male Cancer and I found it hard to relate to some of the actions taken by the characters in the book.) The two-sided personality of Dana came across as opposites - "good" and "bad" or "smart" and "stupid." Being a fellow female Gemini, I could not relate to the opposite twin that Dickey tried to protray. I also found it hard to believe that Vince being a Cancer would let his daughter out of his life so easily. I cannot believe that the male Cancer's "still waters run deep" feelings would have allowed it.

These issues bothered me throughout the book, but as I said before, 'Liar's Game' qualifies for a good "beach read" and not literary genius.

Summary: Once again....
Review: Once again EJD has written an excellent novel. Even though Cheaters is my favorite he came through for me. I couldn't put it down. A must read, you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Just as good
Review: I'm totally a Eric Jerome Dickey fan. When I hear he is coming out with a new book I rush and go get it. This book is really good. The characters are full of adventure. They seem real with the things they go through. You can relate with his stories. If there is a author that you don't have to worry about if the story is going to be good, then this is the one. Every book he has written has been good. Whoever reads this story will really enjoy it. Waiting on the next one.

Summary: Damn that boy is good!
Review: I agree with everyone else, that Dickey did it again! I love the way he tells his stories and he always gives us a good drama. However, in this book I didn't particularly care for the characters especially Dana. She seemed too petty and I hated the fact that Vince was so weak. I definitely found myself more pulled into some of his other work but all in all, I still couldn't put the book down because my opppositional views of Dana and others kept me reading and unable to put the book down.

Summary: Pretty good...but not the Best
Review: This was the first time that I have ever really NOT liked one of Dickey's characters... I didn't hate Dana.. but I almost found myself wishing that she and Vince wouldn't make it. The book was a pretty good read...but for once I found that I didn't feel...in touch... with the characters. The storyline was interesting and well thought out.. but the characters didn't draw me in. I suggest that you read this book on a leisure journey... It wasn't nearly as compelling as some of his other works....

Summary: Excellent again
Review: I have been a fan of Eric Jerome Dickey since I picked up a copy of Sister Sister. He just keeps getting better. Although Cheaters will probably remain my all time favorite, Liar's Game was an excellent read. EJD characterized Dana and Vince with clarity and made sure you knew them by the time you got to the end. The sub plots and secondary characters were well developed and had interesting stories of their own. The twists and turns in the plot with Dana and Vince keep you captivated and kept you turning the pages to the end.
