Summary: Meant to be...
Review: After the death of her husband, Vera Jackson is determined to live the rest of her life to the fullest, and this does not include falling in love again. Marcus Devereaux, the CEO of a major corporation, and Vera's best friend, has been in love with Vera since he first laid eyes on her. He doesn't acknowledge those feelings, though, until they are pointed out to him by none other than his girlfriend, who observes how he looks at her and how many times he mentions her name.

After a bit of soul searching, Marcus declares his feelings for Vera, but she refuses to believe him. In fact, due to problems in her first marriage, and her feelings of inadequacy, Vera does everything she can to discourage him. Marcus is persistent, though, and finally breaks down Vera's wall of resistance. Just when the relationship seems to be on the road to happily ever after, a secret from Marcus' past threatens their newfound love. Will this secret destroy a love that was meant to be, or will the couple stand strong in the face of adversity?

LET IT BE ME is a very poignant, beautifully written love story. Being the incurable romantic that I am, I found myself thoroughly captivated with this novel, and hated to see it end. I eagerly anticipate all future works from this very gifted author.

Summary: Too Real to Be Fiction!!!
Review: I am 3/4 of the way before finishing this novel and decided to go ahead and write my review on it. This is, overall, a very good read. The beginning was rather slow. The book did not actually pick up until about page 80 when the actual love attraction was revealed by Marcus. I felt several parts could have been omitted in the book. There seems to be quite a number of characters in the book and Arabesque books ususally don't try to cram 50,000,000 characters into one book. That's the major reason why I like to read these little romance novels, because you don't have to play detective to find out who everybody is and who is related to who. Overall, though, the book is very enjoyable. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Schuster's novels. Keep up the good work!!!

Summary: NOT WHAT I EXPECTED........:(
Review: I have been waiting with baited breath for this book. MY ONE AND ONLY LOVE was sooooo good, I just knew the sequal was gonna be "tha bomb"! I was dissappointed. Very dissappointed. The beginning was slow and when it did pick up, it went back downhilljust as fast. This was a busy book; too many friends and relatives to keep up with. Found myself flipping back, trying to refresh my memory, on how the numerous characters were related! Too many issues that could have been left out of the book. I did appreciate the younger man/older woman twist, especially when it wasn't along the same storyline as HOW STELLA GOT HER GROOVE BACK. I'll continue to buy Melanie's books, even though this one didn't do it for me. She has so much potential, I'm confident she'll get back on track. There are more relatives in the Devereaux family who need their own story.

Summary: I must have been reading a different book
Review: Let It Be Me was not what I expected it to be. It received great reviews from some of the other readers so I decided to buy it even though I have never read anything by Melanie Schuster. Once I started reading it myself I was not feeling the characters in the book even though the story line was ok.
The book moved really slow and it talked more about Marcus's family memember marriages then Marcus and Vera's relationship that's the reason why I gave this book only 2 stars out of 5.

Summary: Vera and Marcus sittin' in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g!
Review: Marcus Deveraux had been in love with Vera Jackson since he was 18 and she was 28. But Vera was married to John Jackson, a pro-football player. John was not faithful to her, and his caustic comments made her feel less than a woman, but Vera stuck it out. Then, John got killed in a tragic plane crash and Vera, now a widow, continued to castigate herself with thoughts of being frigid, etc. All because of her mentally abusive marriage. Vera had a lot of pain to get through. But Marcus, being the youngest Deveraux brother and possibly the most determined vowed to break through her resolve. Vera had all kinds of reasons why they shouldn't be together, and Marcus had all kinds of reasons why they SHOULD. It was so much fun reading about the ways he wooed her. What woman wouldn't melt under that kind of attention? Ms. Schuster gets better and better with each book in this series. I cannot wait for the next book which is about Angelique and Adonis (what a name!). This book is steamy and quite impossible to put down, so read it when you've got a large block of free time! JS--writer and avid reader.

Summary: Love Was There All The Time
Review: Melanie Schuster has produced another "red-eye special"! You know, one of those novels that make you stay up `til the wee hours of the morning trying to finish "just one more chapter." I am definitely hooked on this author's writing style and with this latest novel she gives her readers a truly heartwarming story.

In Let It Be ME Ms. Schuster takes us back to visit that magnificent Deveraux Clan. This time it's the avowed playa Marcus Deveraux who gets knocked off his feet by his love for Vera Jackson. After years of being best friends, Marcus and Vera slowly come to terms with the fact that their love for each other was there all the time.

As always Ms. Schuster's fresh writing style helps to thoroughly captivate the reader. She places her characters in real life situations and presents well developed main and secondary characters. I can hardly wait to read her next offering!
