Rating: Summary: A Fun Read! Review: I literally cheered for Sarah when she finally tells Benjamin off! Loved her new buddy in town, Taylor - an absolutely sweet and hilarious guy. Sarah's new roomie Martika is great. Totally the opposite of Sarah, of course. But so lively & fun - although the gal does live on the wild side. I flew through this book & found it entertaining and witty. This book was 5 stars all the way through until the very end of the book where I felt it ended a little too fast. Without given the story away, I also felt like, by then, Sarah knew better than to have "chosen" that last big problem. But otherwise, the characters were great, the story was great & I really enjoyed this book.
Rating: Summary: This book was awful Review: I love chick lit but this book was pathetic. I concur with the other reviewers who couldn't believe that it was published. None of the characters are interesting or have any redeeming qualities, the dialogue is stilted and the plot predictable. I finished just to see if it would improve and it didn't. Thankfully I purchased it used and plan to sell it or donate it. It doesn't begin to compare to Helen Fielding, Marian Keyes, or any of the American chick lit authors.
Rating: Summary: This book was horrible Review: I thought this book looked interesting so I picked it up. I read the back cover and felt a similarity to the main character. Well, to my surprise, I was cringing as I was reading the first couple chapters. It was so cheesy and so predictable. The main character is a girl in her mid-twenties who meets another young lady and they become roomates. Martika, the "cool roomate" tries to change Sarah by making her more of a party animal. This book is ok for a high schooler, but not someone in their late twenties like me.
Rating: Summary: Quick and Fun Review: I was beginning to think that Red Dress Ink was losing its touch, but this book proved me wrong! I loved the characters (even if some of them are stereotypical) because they really paint the town red. I love the fact that she's starting from "scratch" and finding her place in the land of L.A. Oz. I give it 5 stars, not because it's the best literature I've ever read, but because I couldn't put it down and it kept me wanting to know more about Sarah and the wild crowd she gets drawn into. I had a lot of fun reading it and finished it in two days!
Rating: Summary: Predictable plot, annoying characters Review: I was excited to get this book because I'm a single woman in my mid-twenties living in LA. However, the author writes like a teenage girl who is fantasizing about what adult life is like. The characters say annoying things like, "Byee" and "We're drinks!" The writer doesn't seem to have a particular writing style; she's all over the place. There also seems to be this need to squeeze in the name of as many "cool, trendy" LA bars as possible, which is pointless and adds nothing to the story. It's readable, but not well-written. I would NEVER compare this book to Bridget Jones' Diary.

Rating: Summary: Huh? Review: I was suprised this book was published. It's pretty poorly written and the story is trite. I finished it just to see if it would get any worse, and it didn't disappoint, the ending was... huh? I've lived in both LA and San Francisco, and I've rarely met women as shallow and one-dimensional as the protagonist. The only redeeming character is the ...friend.
Rating: Summary: L.A. Woman rocks! Review: I'm a married chick in my 30s who had a great time reliving my roaring twenties in Sarah's shoes. L.A. Woman is right up there with Bridget Jones on my list of women I'd like to hang out with over drinks and laughs. Great writing style too. Fast, fun pace and snappy dialogue. I can't figure out why that one reviewer gave a low score. I for one loved the edgy, in-your-face writing style. It's hip yet still has emotional depth. And when it comes to men and sex, she tells it like it is. I can't tell you how tired I am of downhome, sentimental love stories. It's so refreshing to finally read a story about a real woman who has a real life. Buy it and enjoy it in the tub. You won't be sorry!
Rating: Summary: I was there! Review: I'm a picky reader with piles of unfinished books by my bed, but L.A. woman passed my high-interest test. Hats off to this new author. L.A. Woman is right up there with Bridget Jones on my list of women I'd love to hang out with over drinks, laughs and reality checks. Great writing style too. Fast, fun pace and snappy dialogue. I can't figure out why that one reviewer said it wasn't her thing. Guess she doesn't get out much :) I, for one, loved the edgy, honest writing style. It's both hip and emotionally satisfying. And when it comes to men and sex, the author tells it like it is. If you're looking for a fun bathtub or beach read, this is it. Happy reading!
Rating: Summary: This book was awful Review: I'm reading them in order of publication, and I liked this one the best so far. I could relate to Sarah, having played doormat in my life. It was good to see her working out of her "Oh, what can I do to please you, I'll do anything" phase early on in the book. And her new friends Martika and Tyler were a hoot.
