Summary: THE BEST RED DRESS INK SO FAR!
Review: I'm reading them in order of publication, and I liked this one the best so far. I could relate to Sarah, having played doormat in my life. It was good to see her working out of her "Oh, what can I do to please you, I'll do anything" phase early on in the book. And her new friends Martika and Tyler were a hoot.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Promising, if not there yet
Review: I've been there, too. Wishy washy, so stuck on my man that I didn't care much about my own life, then dismissed so subltly that I still called to see what was going on. Sarah doesn't get it at first either, but readers will. Although Sarah isn't someone we probably want to be, most people can probably relate to the tough, character-building situation in which she finds herself. The book is a bit choppy, bouncing between three very different personalities in a ping pong fashion, but it's a fun ride. Martika and Taylor are larger than life, breathing air into Sarah's mundane existence.

The author hasn't quite learned the knack of showing instead of telling, but she does tell a good story. If the book descriptions and dialogue are a bit stilted at times, the whirlwind Sarah finds herself caught up in still carries the plot along. Pick it up just for fun.

Summary: L.A.Woman by Cathy Yardley
Review: L.A.Woman is a fantastic look at the singles scene in Los Angele.
Cathy Yardley writes beautifully and with great insight into her
interesting characters. She presents modern day challenges, relationships, loyalties and betrayals with natural ease. I loved this book. It's fast paced so makes good summer reading on the beach or in a cabin or just in your backyard.

Summary: Fabulous Read for Fabulous Women
Review: LA Woman is both fresh and familiar. Author Cathy Yardley uses the popular dumped-girl-searching-for-a-bigger-and-better-life genre, but one cannot help but relate to the characters laid out in amazing technicolor glory. The cast of characters- small town Sarah Walker, glamazon Martika, over-the-top Tyler- are realistic and inviting. They not only represent youthful L.A. vigour as it truly is, but their charm and charisma woo the reader into making friends with the pages quickly.

Yardley's use of third person is remarkably easy to keep stride. Seeing the different perspectives of each character allows the reader to become more intimate with their quirkiness and then watch as each individual scenario becomes a part of the bigger picture. The writing style is spunky, true-to-life, and easy to grasp. In fact, the book barely seems like a novel with its ability to read like an up-beat conversation between friends.

Don't mistake a quick and easy read for unfulfilling though. Cathy Yardley touches on some serious issues and the questions of friendship, family, and being true to one's self are explored with ease and honesty.

The perfect balance of humour and reality, L.A. Woman is a fabulous read for fabulous women.

Summary: Very refreshing and fun novel.
Review: Let me start off by saying that I've read all of the other Red Dress Ink novels, and I have to say that this was the only one I couldn't put down until I'd finished it.

This is a story about a girl named Sarah who moves to L.A. because she mistakenly believes that she and her four-year fiance are finally going to move in together. At first, I was thinking that this was going to be yet another novel where the girl doesn't wise up until the last twenty pages. But truly, Sarah smartens up quickly and dumps him, leaving herself both friendless, jobless and boyfriendless in an unfamiliar city. She meets some new people who introduce her into a new life as a singleton searching for someone new.

I really liked the fact that the main character wasn't your stereotypically neurotic girl. And I really appreciated the fact that I didn't feel compelled to scream about her stupidity when she was being obviously mistreated. I give the author a lot of credit for being able to create a genuinely nice character who isn't a complete pushover.

Okay. So this isn't fine literature, but it's still a fun read, especially if you like the twenty/thirtysomething novels that have been becoming more and more popular since Bridget Jones. And maybe, yeah, it's predictable, but personally I don't think that's a bad thing in novels like these. I would get annoyed if the main character didn't end up with the guy I wanted for her. If you're like me and you read pretty much everything that comes out in this genre, you'll probably like this one as well.

Summary: A great read!
Review: Sarah Walker is searching...searching for the right job, the right man, the right niche. Unfortunately the searching isn't going real well! We've all been there. Watching Sarah's journey to find where she belongs brings it all back.

LA Woman is a delightful, fast-paced story that will keep you flipping the pages. Cathy Yardley is a talented storyteller and I'm so looking forward to her next release!

Summary: Loved it!
Review: Saw this book on Friday July 5th and judged the cover as something to pick up. Bought it right away after reading the back cover and knew this was the book for me.
Cathy Yardley, must be someone I know. Read the whole book over the weekend, like I was reading my true life story. I being a L.A. Woman who ran with Bridget Jones to London. Found myself
reading page by page.
This is the BEST book of the Summer! Would not be suprised if
it turns into a film soon. So refreashing to read, this author
needs to be spotlighted for her work. Cathy, writes Very Real!
If you have been in a dead-end relationship or have lived the
L.A. life, go and buy this book. Hope Kelly Ripa reads my review to make this one of her "Book Club" choice. AWESOME book!

Summary: Pure trash, and not in a good way
Review: This book is by far the worst I have read in a long time. The story is completely unbelievable and there is not a single character worth rooting for. Sarah goes from a goody-two shoes (who was so saccharine-sweet my teeth hurt - she's given her boyfriend Benjamin the nickname "Jam." Ewww!) to this ultra-[mean woman] who uses men for sex, thanks to the advice of her new "friend," the dominatrix Martika. And speaking of Martika, whose story this book is as much as Sarah's, my reaction to the ending was, "you have got to be kidding me!" Overall, this book was a huge disappointment from Page 1 to the end. In my opinion, it doesn't even deserve one star.

Summary: I've Read Better
Review: This book is easy to read, but a lil dull. I recommend Confessions of an Ex-Girlfriend..much more interesting to read and much funnier.
