Summary: I kept waiting for it to get better but it only got worse.
Review: What a disappointment. The characters have absolutely no depth, they are all superficial, shallow, and worst of all--artifical. They were down right annoying! I didn't want to get to know them or delve futher into their situation.

Summary: It makes good fire wood.
Review: If you run out of fire wood this winter, just use this book instead

Summary: Warning: Do NOT buy this book!
Review: I've never felt so much pain while reading a book. It's by far the worst book I have ever read. I wanted to strangle Barry and Justine after just 40 pages. The book was written by a Long Island housewife, need I say more?

Summary: Just close the book and forget it....
Review: After reading some of the reviews on this site, I'm glad to see I'm not alone. I read the 1st chapter at the bookstore and bought it thinking I was in for an enjoyable read. HOW WRONG I WAS...I suffered through each and every chapter. Both the main characters were annoying and by the end, I was wishing they hadn't survived the plane crash...You're probably wondering why I kept reading-unfortunately once I start a book, I have to finish it-it's a compulsion. Skip this book and buy the WONDERFUL "Watermelon" by Marian Keyes.

Summary: Still haven't finished it! It made my eyes bleed!
Review: The dialogue is worse than running your fingernails down a blackboard. No other book has caused me as much suffering as this one. Save your money. One star is one too many.

Summary: Nothing intelligent but highly entertaining
Review: I fell into this book so easily and was a bit sad when I finished it. The story is a no-brainer but interesting nonetheless because we've all gone through it. The one aspect I didn't cater to was that Justine becomes altered and exchanges (supposedly from an epiphany) all the things she wanted for things less rewarding. I'm tired of strong women always compromising their careers and not quite reaching the top. But overall, I would recommend this to a friend who's interested in light reading that she can't put down.

Summary: Glad my single days are over...
Review: Loved this book! Being single was fun, for awhile anyway, but glad I'm not anymore. This was a step into the past remembering all the turmoil and fun it could be being single. When does the movie come out?? Tom Hanks has to be Barry!

 Rating:
Summary: After a few chapters the main characters became irritating .
Review: I thought I would enjoy this book, especially after reading the reviews, which were so favorable. Justine was really self-centered, whiny and a real snot. Reading this book was as enjoyable as root canal. The author used too many cultural stereotypes and generalizations.

  Summary: Funny and honest
Review: Never hearing of this author/book before, the title and cover caught my eye so I took a chance. I caught myself laughing out loud in the first chapter. Afterwards, I passed this book along to friends and everyone agreed it was great.

  Summary: a true summer read
Review: This was a fun book for summer, especially if you live in New York. It's a quick and easy read, well-written, with some interesting characters. The only problem is, they aren't likable in the least! Both were neurotic, self-absorbed, egotistical characters. I wanted them to get together in the end (and of course, there is never any doubt that they will) but only because they deserve eachother. And I wanted them out of the dating pool for the rest of us!!!
