Summary: Where's the romance?
Review: If you want a how to on how to skip all romance and jump straight into the sack then this book is for you. It's also for you if you want to read about a weak willed ninny who doesn't even like her ex, says "no", but still is willing to romp at every opportunity. I always believed "NO" meant just that, but if you buy into this story it proves "no" means "yes" just because he wants it to. The characters jumped around from aggrivating to confused and never really developed an identity of their own. I enjoyed Rafe, it's sad this turned out to be such a loser.

Summary: An exciting Reconstruction romance
Review: In 1868 Denison, Texas, Rusty Ramsey, foreman of the B&G Ranch, offers Sam Gentry a job after the latter helped during a barroom brawl. Desperately needing work, Sam, who fled Kansas with a bank robbery charge hanging over him, accepts. However, to his surprise, the owner turns out to be his wife Lacey, a northern blueblood if one ever existed. While he still lusts over her, she never forgot the rebel who she believes abandoned her, but left her with a son Andy.

When Lacey, who claims Civil War widowhood, learns that Sam is her husband, she wants him to leave town immediately because she does not want him to interfere with her upcoming marriage. To save the ranch, Lacey plans to wed neighbor Taylor Chase. When her fiancÈ finds out that Sam lives, he uses legal and illegal means to rid himself of his rival even as the love between Lacey and Sam reignites.

Connie Mason's third Outlaw tale, Sam's story, is an exciting Reconstruction Era romance. The story line is fast-paced and filled with numerous twists and turns. The lead characters are a dynamite pair, as they struggle with the past and present leaving little hope for a future together. Connie Mason has written a winning tale that sub-genre fans will fully relish.

Summary: The Outlaws: Sam
Review: Ok I admit it, I'm a Connie Mason Junkie! I love all of her books. I've read and reread them so often I've had to replace them all once!
This is the third and final part of the Outlaw series. The two other brothers, Rafe and Jess, have found wonderful brides who can be gentle and strong at the same time and who have lead them on merry chases. Well Sam already had a bride but told no one of her. They met during the Civil War and were lost to each other soon after marrying. They were betrayed but Sam blames Lacey for it all and Lacey is told that Sam was killed in the war. Sam shows up to work on a ranch and finds that Lacey is the owner. But that's not the biggest suprise, he finds that she has a son who he believes to be the one she had with the man who betrayed him. She knows that her son is Sam's but she is so afraid that he will take him from her she doesn't tell him. She is engaged to marry another man but only to save her ranch. Sam throws a wrench into her plans but she soon discovers that she loves that wrench. Sam struggles with his feelings for her and for the boy who even though there is still a lingering doubt of his parentage, he is starting to love and consider his own.

There are a couple of obsticals in Sam's way though of claiming Lacey and her son, the warrent for his arrest for bank robbery is one, even though he knows he is innocent, and the man who Lacey was to marry. He must fight all of this to win her back.

I loved this book and was so happy to find out how the other brothers were doing at the end also. Connie makes her characters seem like part of your own family. I would highly recommend this book as well as anything else she has written. You'll love them.

Summary: Another Winner!
Review: Once again Ms Mason offers believable characters and a heroine who is full of courage and spunk that keeps a Connie Mason fan turning the page. We have Angel, a no good step-father, his accomplice in deception, and Rafe. There are a number of story lines being woven by this mistress of romance, excitement, and suspense so the reader is constantly wondering what's next. If you are looking for a story where the knight does not save the damsel in distress but say a knight and a damsel put together merely by circumstances beyond their control this is your story. Once you've read this story it will merely keep you craving for more Connie Mason.

Summary: A winner!
Review: Rafe Gentry and his two brothers, Jess and Sam, were wrongly accused of bank robbery. Pursued by a posse, the three Gentry brothers quickly packed a few items from home and split up, each riding off into different directions. On the exact date next year they were to meet at the Antlers Hotel in Denver.

This book is Rafe's story. He came upon a stagecoach robbery. He frightened off the outlaws, but the five people on the coach were already dead. Cowboys from a nearby ranch showed up and took Rafe to jail.

Sister Angela Abbot's mother died, leaving her to the whim of her mean stepfather, Desmond Kent. Just afterward, her real father's letter arrived, forwarded by his lawyer. Simon Abbot had left half of his gold mine to Angela and told her that if he suddenly died she was to suspect his partner, Brady Baxter. Sure enough, Simon died shortly later. Brady offered to buy out Angela's half and she refused. Meanwhile, Kent decided Angela would marry Anson Chandler. He and Chandler planned to split the inheritance. Instead of meekly marrying, Angela slipped away to check out the mine and see if her father was really murdered.

In Ordway, Colorado she found Rafe Gentry about to be hanged by a lynch mob. She reacted instinctively and announced to everyone that he was her fiancé. Once married, the two had Kent, Chandler, and the law hot on their tails.

Connie Mason will hit the New York Times Bestseller's list again with this one! If Jess and Sam's stories are even a fraction as good as this one, then I do not know how I will wait. It oozes with problems and has enough romance to melt the iciest of hearts! Highly recommended reading!

Summary: Not one of her best.
Review: Rafe Gentry is accused of murder and he is going to be hanged. At the last minute, Angela Abbot saves him by declaring he is her fiance and they are about the get married. Instead of being grateful to Angela for saving his life, Rafe actually dislikes her and thinks less of her for this (Odd guy.)

First of all i would like to say that i've read most of Ms Mason's books and i liked most of them. A couple of which i love and i consider keepers. Seeing all the favorable reviews on this book i was quite sure i would have another excellent read from Ms Mason but i was rather disapointed.

Its true that this book is packed with action and romance and some sensual scenes but what irritates me is the way Ms Mason is writing lately. She uses very simple dialogue, hurries over much of the scenes and I suspect she wanted to finish this book quickly. What good is all the action if it is over in just a few sentences? There's no suspense at all...no real sense of danger. There are no vivid and intresting descriptions of the scenes. For example - at one moment Angela is hit by bullet - and almost immeditaely recovers with no more mention of the wound! I strongly believe this book is nowhere near as good as some of her earlier books ,"My lady Vixen" for example. PleaseDont'hate me for this.

Summary: wonderful
Review: Rafe was a breath of fresh air. The unique twist of the songbird angel set it apart from other books. I enjoyed it very much.
