Rating: Summary: FIVE STARS ARE NOT ENOUGH! Review: After reading all three of her novels,Dream of Me, Believe in Me, and Come Back to Me, I simply have to declare Josie Litton the best historical romance writer I have ever read, and I am an avid reader. Now, along with Susan Elizabeth Phillips in contemporary romances, Josie Litton is my favorite author. Here are the reasons why: Fully developed characters and plots; characters that are decent human beings with excellent traits and endearing faults; a true sense of the daily life of the main and secondary characters in the historical period portrayed; a meticulous attention to details, no lose ends; no contrived situations to lengthen the book in the absence of original ideas; intimate situations with the exact balance of tenderness and sensuality; babies; intrigue; and consistency in the story lines of all three novels. I could not put them down, but at the same time I did not want them to end. I know I will reread them several times and I look forward to many more delightful novels from Ms. Litton. Other promising authors, such as Shana Abé and Linda Lael Miller, should learn from Ms. Litton. If you are intelligent, educated, expect excellence, and do not like to be underestimated by the authors of romantic fiction, you will love these novels. They are keepers!
Rating: Summary: 2 great stories for the price of 1 Review: DREAM OF ME. The Vikings and the Saxons are at war as they have been for centuries. Viking leader Wolf Hakonson believes that the "Ice Princess" Lady Cymbra is the cause of the latest conflict. Leading his men on a raid of her castle, Wolf captures Cymbra, but quickly she melts his heart with her passion as love sets in between the duo. BELIEVE IN ME. As a follow-up to the beginnings of peace started by the marriage of his sister Cymbra to the Viking, Lord Hawk weds Norsewoman Lady Krysta. He knows he must do whatever it takes to make this marriage of state work if he is to build on his sibling's success and further the cause of peace. However, the Saxon and the Viking never anticipated love to enter their relationship. Readers gain two full historical novels for the price of one book as Bantam showcases the debut of Josie Litton's strong new sub-genre voice. Both books contain strong characters and resplendent details distinguishing the era when the Vikings and Saxons constantly fought one another. The story lines are well written, never slowing down with only one problem. If readers are as selfish and hedonistic as this reviewer, they would have wanted a triplet rather than wait a whole month for book three. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Must READ! Review: Fabulous characters and setting, engaging plot and impossible to put down! Cant wait for Come Back To Me! This is an author to watch!
Rating: Summary: A great new author! Review: I am a long time fan of historical romance. My favorite being Johanna Lindsey. I was sceptical at first being this is josie litton's first book, but it didn't take long to become a big fan. I could hardly put the book down. A wonderful story that I will enjoy reading again. I was just as pleased with her second and third books. I can hardly wait for her next series to come out in the spring of next year. If you love historical romance, don't hesitate to read this trilogy by a new and wonderful author.
Rating: Summary: More like 4 1/2 stars - but not quite 5 Review: I borrowed this from the library, taking 5 minutes to choose a book and not knowing how good it would be. Dream of Me was a fantastic, passionate love story and is the reason I gave 5 stars to the book. It is a marvelous escape from every day life -- and such a beautiful love story. Unfortunately, Believe in Me didn't measure up. Not as fast paced, not nearly as passionate and the characters just didn't get fleshed out as much, especially the hero Hawk who was just a shadow compared to Wolf (the hero of the first book.) Take out the book and read the first story -- it's worth it!!!

Rating: Summary: Loved it, loved it, loved it!!! Review: I bought this book on recommendation of Amazon and I am really happy I went for it. Got the book and read the first one in just one day. I found it refreshing that the main characters immediately fell for each other. Especially the love story of Wolf and Cymbra was touching. What more can I say? I am now online buying the last book in the trilogy and hope this author will write much more books like this. Josie Litton is now definitely on my list.
Rating: Summary: Love it! Review: I have a hard time finding books that I can jump right into and that will hold my attention. Josie Litton is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. I just started reading this book and am enjoying every word. Her writing style is easy to read and the characters are well created. Can't wait til the next book in the series is available!!
Rating: Summary: I don't hate it but.... Review: I must say I don't see what all the fuss is about. I don't hate this book but it's nothing to write home about. In fact i've had it for several weeks and still havent finished reading it. It just doesn't hold my attention like some of my favorites. You know that feeling you get when you read a really good book? You just cant put it down. You cant sleep because you have to finish it tonight? I just dont get that feeling. But maybe it's only the first novel. I havent finished it yet. I just cant seem to care over much about these perfect characters who can do no wrong. I don't relate to them in any way. Their lives seem too perfect to me. They are so happy and in love from the start where does the book have to go? I dont want to spoil it for anyone and I doubt that I could since I am not even done reading it yet, but the book just seems too polished. It's a nice read to distract yourself while doing other stuff. In fact I've read several other better novels between reading chapters of this book. I picked up Robin Schone's " the lady's tutor" and couldn't put it down, also I read "Hawk's way the virgin groom" and couldn't put it down. Then there was "Every wish fulfilled" not great but still more engrosing than this. Every body else seems to love this novel but I just don't know why. I mean it is perfect. Too perfect. It's all plot and no passion. It's like a diamond, perfect brilliante, and cold.
Rating: Summary: More like 4 1/2 stars - but not quite 5 Review: I read "Dream Island", the first of the Akoran trilogy, before the Viking/Saxon trilogy and I loved that book. So I was looking forward to reading these first books of Josie Litton's. Though I liked both "Dream of Me" and "Believe in Me" I couldn't rate the combined books at 5 stars. This is due to "Believe" being a bit slower paced. And compared to Wolf and Dragon, the Norse brothers, Hawk is a bit on the dull side. Actually he reminds me a bit of Royce from "Dream Island" & the just released "Kingdom of Moonlight". A bit too serious and occasionally self-righteous (though still likeable). But Wolf and Dragon (and Hawk) are terrific, funny, charming, sexy guys. I must say Josie Litton creates really likeable male characters. Her female characters are also interesting with each having some sort of "gift" or maybe curse (!) that they have to handle and live with. While this could be hokey, the author handles them well and in a fairly low-key fashion. Both Cymbra and Krysta are likable heroines with Krysta really redeeming the relationship with Hawk with her cute, pixish personality - she lightens him up! And the gorgeous Cymbra is the perfect mate for the equally gorgeous Wolf. Their food fight scene was great - funny and sexy! If you are looking for lots of action, these books are not for you. They really are concentrated on the evolving relationships between the couples in both books. Don't get me wrong they're not boring, but not action-packed either. Though this trilogy is well written and enjoyable to read, I much more look forward to the Akoran trilogy. A bit more action, and a bit more background story to go along with the romance and passion! For sure I will look forward to all of Josie Litton's future books. I think she rates along with Kathleen E Woodiwiss as one of the best writers of historical romance.
