Rating: Summary: A great beach read! Review: The sand is still in my copy! Marian Keyes is definitely one of my favorite authors! She's so good at writing an engaging story. We meet three best friends, Tara, Katherine, and Fintan. They each have their own battles to face. Tara is living with her verbally abusive boyfriend and is afraid to leave him. Katherine is terrified of needing and depending on someone. Fintan is lucky in love, but he is now faced with a life altering situation that will affect all three of them. The trio has to pull together and in doing so, they realize how lucky they are to have each other. This is a lovely book! Keyes has a talent for blending touching drama with hilarious, but very realistic moments. It was a change for this book to be written in third person, but I didn't care about the characters any less. This book is everything I've come to expect from this incredible author. I look forward to her next one!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful, funny, entertaining.... Review: This book has it all, the funny sarcastic 30 something humour, the over inflated egos, the low self esteem-weight problem issues. But it has so much more, its not the situations that makes it an unique and interesting tale but the realistic way in which the characters face them. This book is about friendship and loyalty and about the things you do for your self and the ones you love when you realize how much you are worth. A MUST READ!
Rating: Summary: Fabulous, seriously Review: This book is wonderful! Earthy humor, friendships, and on occasion, serious issues, which is why I wouldn't call it a "beach read".
Rating: Summary: Cute Beach Read Review: While this book is a fun read, it has some added benefits--Marian Keyes really knows how to develop characters. Her characters are complex, screwed up, happy and sad in the same breath--basically, they're real. While the plot and the story weren't especially interesting, it's worth reading just to experience Keyes' way of description.
