Summary: Enchanted by "Enchanted"
Review: After reading and falling in love with "My Fallen Angel", I was really looking forward to Pamela's next book and "Enchanted by Your Kisses" lived up to all my expectations with great characters and a wonderful story. I can't wait to read her next book!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A wonderful read!
Review: Don't be fooled by the negative reviews! This book was pure fun. Arial was an endearing heroine who made me laugh with her antics. Sure Nathan was a bit of a putz in the beginning but the author eventually brought me around.

Highly recommended!

Review: I bought this book because it was on special ...and I'm glad I did. It was surprisingly good considering I'd never heard of this author. I'll definately be on the look out for more of her books. I'd recommend it to someone who's looking for a light read with just enough emotion and plot to keep you highly entertained.

Summary: She did it again!
Review: I eagerly awaited this book after reading MY FALLEN ANGEL. I was thrilled to get another great read! Ms. Britton has a way of stating things that never fails to tickle my funny bone. Fast paced, hilarious and touching. Wow.

Thanks, Ms. Britton!

Summary: A book I just couldn't put down!
Review: I found Enchanted By Your Kisses to be a book that had everything you could want in a historical romance. It had intrigue, suspense, a wonderful story of love winning over all the odds, and a comedy of errors that happened to the heroine (Lady Ariel D'Archer). Nathan Trevain (the hero) was the handsomely dark haired stranger, a foreigner (American), which Lady Ariel doubts from the beginning. It was hilarious when Ariel thought she was taking control of the situation and realizes things weren't working out like she planned. Ariel does turn things around and helps Nathan in his quest. This is the first book I have read of Ms.Britton, but it won't be the last!

Summary: Loved this wonderful book
Review: I loved My Fallen Angel and didn't think this second book could surpass the first. But it does. Of course, there were laughs galore. I was in stitches before I even finished the prologue. Ariel's character grabbed me from that first moment. And Nathan is another delicious hero. Their dialogue was funny and snappy, and I was rooting for them the whole way. I especially liked the gritty doses of reality on the Torture Chamber ship. It gave the book more depth, in my not so humble opinion, and gave me a real sense of urgency. This author has a fresh voice and a way with metaphors. I read this book in two sittings, and I was dying to get back to it after a long hard day. I recommend this wonderful read with a nice glass of wine, a little chocolate, and a hot bath.

Summary: ouch...
Review: I was disappointed in this book. I bought it all the glowing recommends here (should have listed to the few voices of complaint for they were dead on!). The dialogue was stiff, redundant - really redundant. She had conversations that were supposed to be sparkling repartee - they were neither. They were self-indulgent. Same, for she has potential, but like she has weak editor, or she runs rough shod over them. The book needed GOOD EDITING.

The story starts out, but does the same things like three other Britton books I read - fizzles. She has all this fire, then just loses the focus and settles for the blah.

Her hero - I use the term loosely - Nathan - I am sorry - he starts out a carbon Anne Stuart tortured bad boy - but she lacks the genius of Stuart in handling this sort of character. Instead of being the bad boy we cannot resist, he begins to really turn me off. His attitude toward all women in general, and the heroine specifically really SUCKS.

Sorry, read the lower starts and then decide if you really want to spend your dollars on this one. I did not do that and I am sorry.

The author shows promise, but it sort of shooting herself - and the reader - in the foot.

Summary: Not Really....
Review: I was very disappointed in this book. I had read Britton's freshman book, MY FALLEN ANGEL, when it first came out and absolutely LOVED it, so I admit I had high expectations, but ENCHANTED BY YOUR KISSES didn't even come close to meeting what would be my low expectations.

First of all, the dialog was stilted. It went around and around in repetitive circles, and occassionally meandered without any point whatsoever. I suppose some of their conversation was meant to be witty reparte, but with such bad dialog, it was really hard to tell. Also, I don't define being rude or hurtfull as "witty," no matter how clever the insult--and these characters were insulting and rude to one another a lot.

Secondly, the characters. Oh, boy. Nathan, the hero, started out as your typical dark, mysterious, Byronic-type--which is great--but I quickly lost any liking or interest for him. There is really no excuse for the way he deceives and treats the heroine, and even though he suffers guilt pangs about it, he is still cruel to her. And the way he keeps thinking that all women are betrayers reminded me of a serial killer. Basically, he's like Eeyore with really nasty teeth: a little black cloud hangs over his head constantly, and he lashes out meanly at everyone else because HE has problems.

Ariel, meanwhile, is very blah. While I sympathized with her anger at being ostracized from society, she didn't seem to have a heart to me. She's simply a very angry, bitter, cold character.

As for the plot... did the author bother to think about it at all? Her book is supposed to be humorous, but humor seems like an insult when there's a man being beaten to death (a scene that was very difficult to read, and which should have been cut out, by the way). One of the things I really appreciated about Britton's earlier novel was that it was apparent a lot of thought had gone into it. Not so with ENCHANTED BY YOUR KISSES.

I did chuckle once or twice during EBYK, and perhaps by the end of the book the two characters overcome their differences, yada yada yada (though I probably wouln't have believed it), but the truth is, by page two hundred, I simply didn't care. While I would recommend MY FALLEN ANGEL without reservation, I would definitely NOT recommend EBYK. Hopefully the author's next work (which is supposed to be a sequel to MFA) will turn out better.
