Rating: Summary: A great story with great characters Review: In 1781 England, Lady Ariel D'Archer believes she loves her Archie, who has confessed a hundred times over that he loves her too. Caught in bed together by her father, Ariel's lover Lord Archibald Worth proves he will not love her tomorrow by admitting he will marry Lady Mary Carew in a month. Rumors about Archie ruining Ariel spread throughout the Ton, leaving her a pariah among family and friends. Her father refuses to speak to her ever again. Two years later, Nathan Trevain seeks information about his missing brother. He feels Ariel can be of help, but decides to hide his identity as the heir to the Dukedom of Davenport. Soon Ariel ignores her vow never to give away her heart as she falls in love, but wonders if she is his lasting treasure or a moment's pleasure and, by the way, where is his sibling? ENCHANTED BY YOUR KISSES is an action-packed Georgian romance that never slows down until the tale is finished. The story line moves forward due to the antics of the lead couple. Ariel will gain reader empathy as she suffers the wrath of the hypocritical aristocracy for her one indiscretion while her lover receives pats on the back for scoring. Nathan knows his skills and willingly uses them, but in Ariel he meets his toughest adversary, love. In just a few years, Pamela Britton has written novels like this one and MY FALLEN ANGEL that excites sub-genre fans with their originality and powerful cast. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: I'm totally Enchanted by this Author! Review: In 1781 England, Lady Ariel D'Archer trusted and thought Lord Archibald Worth (Archie) loved her and they would be married, but naively, she found out later that he would tell her anything for one reason only. She would agree to meet Archie at an inn - before the wedding - but before the physical act could be completed they would be caught in bed together by Ariel's father. The cad, Archie never did come forth to offer her marriage, instead a month later he married another. Ariel was ruined. Two years later her very kind and loving cousin Phoebe would not believe that she could still be shunned. So, against her better judgment, Ariel agreed to attend a ball with her. Ariel should have listened to herself as her appearance showed her that the ton had not forgotten her ruin and was just as unforgiving as it was two years previous - it did indeed have a long memory. Nathan Trevain was searching for his missing brother. He had been betrayed by love before and trusted no woman. He didn't let his conscience bother him when he decided to use Ariel in a plan to discover information to his brothers whereabouts. As the heir to the Dukedom of Davenport, he proposed a scheme to Ariel to `as a friend' to help Ariel thumb her nose at the ton by pretending to be his fiancé. His real purpose was to use her to gain access to her father, a high ranking British admiral's private papers. Ariel soon loses her closely guarded heart to him only to discover his duplicity. How could she be so wrong in love again? ENCHANTED BY YOUR KISSES was such a fast-paced action packed and totally emotional Georgian romance that I could not put the book down until I finished it! Ariel was a totally sympathetic heroine to which I found myself so immersed in her heartaches that I was in tears several times during the story. This was one of the most emotionally powerful romances I have read in quite a while as the author deftly shows the pain inflicted by the ton's hypocrisy towards the female while the male ends up looking like a hero! So unfair but so true! Nathan, granted had been betrayed himself so he could not trust her and was not a very sympathetic character at all in the beginning. The bantering dialogs and the sallies back and forth were fresh and wonderful as well as the solid and strong character development of the secondary characters. Total enjoyment for this authors works from MY FALLEN ANGEL to SEDUCED has proven that Pamela Britton is an author who has become an automatic buy for me.

Rating: Summary: Funny! Review: It was a nice change to actually pick up a romance novel and laugh. I adored it! Can't wait for more of Pamela's books to come out. She is right up there with Heather Ghram.
Rating: Summary: She's Done It Again! Review: Ms. Britton is amazing. She has a very unique way of capturing your imagination and transforming you back in time. You live through her characters and they live through you. I can't wait for her next book.
Rating: Summary: really funny Review: Ms. Britton's wicked sense of humor strikes again in Enchanted by Your Kisses. Nathan Trevain kidnaps a girl, Lady Ariel, that under any other circumstances he would probably want avoid. But, he needs her. She holds the key to finding his lost brother. However, keeping her captive is no easy task. She is bold, proud and unafraid. He is secretive and strong-willed. Their personalities clash immediately. Perhaps that is was draws them to one another.
Rating: Summary: a marvelous book Review: My Wicked Ways meets Ransom of Red Chief? Seriously! This is my first Pamela Britton book. I understand there were some problems in the productions of the novel. It was written as a paranormal, but then Ms. Britton was forced to change it into a straight historical. I cannot imagine the upset that caused a relatively new writer, so that it came out this charming is quite amazing! And it is charming! Oh, there is a sign here or there saying new author - but then, every author is a new author at one point, are they not? I found myself pulled by the characters. They are well drawn and follow logical, motivations. They captivated this reader. Ariel, especially, made me feel for her. A very naive young woman, unloved by her father, growing up with no brothers or sisters, she didn't have the raising to know how to act with people, what deceivers they can be. Her mother was a gypsy who died in childbirth, her father an Earl - a cold, distant man - and that gypsy taint already marks Ariel in the Ton's eyes. This sets poor Ariel up to be an easy mark to be seduced by a scoundrel who promises her something she has never known ¯ love. When they're caught in a compromising position, she's ruined, teaching a young Ariel men are not to be trusted. Two years later, she returns to London - pushed by her cousin, Phoebe. Now married, Phoebe hopes the years have made London forget Ariel's scandal. But they have not. It's heartbreaking for the reader to see Ariel's sense of always being on the outside. It makes her easy prey when Nathan Trevain, the future Duke of Davenport tries to befriend her. He proposes they pretend they're engaged. However, the reader knows Trevain is setting out to use Ariel. His reasons for using Ariel are with good purpose. He is not a cad, but is out to save someone close to him. Don't you just love it when the dark deadly alpha male is caught in his own trap? Trevain's plans to use Ariel gets out of hand when he's forced to kidnap her. Ariel, a wee bit fed up with people using her, is not about to make it easy on the handsome man. The kidnapping quickly blows up in his face, with spunky Ariel handling her situation with a determination that has to win your heart. What strikes me most about Britton is her gentle humor. In one instance, when Ariel escapes Nathan, falls into a pond, and nearly drowns, instead of total panic one might expect it's written with a deft handling. I won't spoil it ¯ but it's surprisingly original. Overall, it shows Britton has a style that should improve, as she grows surer of her craft, promising more novels that are delightful for readers.
