Summary: Save your money and skip this one; IQ really matters?,
Review: Save your money and skip this one; IQ really matters:
What a big dissappointment! I have to admit that I am totally puzzled by the high ratings this book has received. Unfortunately the main story line and romance was totally lack of attraction and humour. The author had been unable to do even an average character development. Mainly, what I can not understand about this book is everybody asks or knows everybodys IQs. Perhaps, that's the problem of the author. I, myself got fed up with counting this issue after 11th question referring this subject in this book.
I guess, It would be more clever to write a complete book about Schuyler who is actually the most interesting and dominant character in this book. Actually, the main characters are far beyond being the main ones. I have not understood anything about the relationship between Leo and Lily, in fact that was not even a relationship. No chemistry, no spirit at all. The first 100 pages of this book was a total mess. When Schuyler came back to his house, the plot a little bit became interesting, however the romance between Schuyler and Caroline and also Schuyler's relationship with his daughter Chloe were the unnecessary reading points. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Summary: The pause that refreshes
Review: This book gave me exactly the same feeling as watching a favorite old movie on television--it's funny and charming and well-crafted, and I put it down feeling like all was right with the world. Excellent!

Summary: Fun filled and touching!
Review: This book is one of the most entertaining books I have read recently. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters of Leo and Lily. The supporting cast was also well written. I loved the budding romance of Schuyler and Caroline. It would have made a wonderful story on its own. I found I had to stop myself from skipping forward to checkout what was going to happen between the two of them. All in all I loved the book and am going to purchase "My Man Pendleton" and Ms. Bevarly's upcoming books.

Summary: Fun filled and touching!
Review: This is a great novel and I can't wait to get my hands on other works written by Elizabeth Bevarly. However, there are a few discrepancies that keep me from rating this book five stars. I feel that the characters are not fully developed and that there are a few holes in this story that are plugged, so to speak, with bad escapes by the writer. Examples of these poor "holes," is the incredibility of so many people in Bevarly's story possessing IQ's of over 140. Let's get realistic, Bevarly conveys to the reader that she's created a think tank. This is not very romantic, and not necessary to make the story stand. Furthermore, how Lily and Leo end up in bed is a little rushed and the script before they land in bed seems empty and just a filler for them to have sex. I can't help being critical of these small mistakes by the writer, but the only time that I find it worthwhile to be critical is when the writer actually shows promise of something good. My last and only complaint is the premise of $50 million dollars being missing. I can't help but question why would the billionaire Kimball care if people knew that his secretary was donating money to charity? Finally, what I really enjoyed about Bevarly's writing is her ability to create humour and describe the steamy lead up to lead couple's "tango." Bevarly shows a lot of promise for future works, so get out there and buy "Her Man Friday!"

Summary: Save your money and skip this one!
Review: This was a terrible book. The premise upon which the story is based is so offensive to me as a woman. I can't believe that in this day and age such a backward story would even get published. Such a premise may have been plausible in a historical romance, but in a contemporary romance it was quite insulting to all women with professional careers. Aside from the main premise, I found very little to recommend the relationship between the two main characters. I couldn't see why they were even attracted to each other. The character of Lily seemed to be very cold. The character of Leo seemed to always think the worst of Lily, while he had immersed himself in a series of deceptions.

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on this book. The only character in the book I actually liked was that of Caroline, which was a small secondary character. However, Bevarly paired her up with Schuyler, a completely self-absorbed character with little to recommend him. My only regret is that I wasted my time on this book and didn't immediately chuck it into the garbage.

Summary: This book was..um..different
Review: This was my first time reading one of Elizabeth Bevarly's books. I hope that all her other books are not like this one. I felt that the book was too wordy. Nothing exciting happened at the begining, the middle OR the ending! If you see this book in the store, don't pick it up; just walk away. I don't think that I am going to read any more of her books.
