Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: Not the style of writinig i'm used to from her. I'm sorry but I couldn't even finish this one. But do read her other books and see my reviews of them. She is a DYNAMIC Writer maybe just some bad luck with this one.
Rating: Summary: NOT HER BEST Review: Of the seven Sandra Kitt books that I've read, FAMILY AFFAIRS is the only one that I did not like. I don't think this novel is up to her usual writing style and story line standard. This is the story of Gayla, a beautiful, single, Black art gallery manager in New York. She is the mother of Allison, who is very obviously half-white. An old acquaintance comes on the scene with "new-age" art and a relationship develops. Meanwhile Allison's father reappears and finds out he has a teenage daughter. I've read and reveiwed many of Ms. Kitt's books and novellas, with very favorable ratings. This one didn't measure up.
Rating: Summary: A suitable treatment for insomniacs..... Review: Save your money on this one. It severly lacks the intensity of her previous efforts, which goes to show you that you can't be target all the time. Hopefully her next one will be on par of "Siginificant Others, Between Friends, and the Color of Love."
Rating: Summary: Color of Love still her best.. Review: Since reading COLOR OF LOVE (which I feel is her best book) I had been reading all her subsequent books..hoping that the books will be as good as Color of Love...however they are all not up to the expectation. I think I'm going to skip her next book, Homecoming, as I don't want to be dissapointed again..
Rating: Summary: missing excitement Review: The author could have added alot more to the story to make it more interesting.
Rating: Summary: i expected better of ms. kitt Review: The book could definitely have been better. I expected better of the author. I have read several of her other books and all of them were excellent. Color of Love was fantastic! And I picked up this book only because I was excited to read Ms. Kitt's latest novel, I didn't even read the back cover. Her latest effort was a disappointment but I'm sure her next one won't.
Rating: Summary: The book was a great disappointment to me. Review: The main characters lacked chemistry. They had nothimg in common other than sharing the same house at one point in their lives. I felt that there was great deal more romantic potential with the former lover Graham and or the current beau. I didn't feel close to this female character at all. It was hard to understand the attraction with the guy who grew up with her and her brother. I feel that Sandra could have expanding the story line. I really prefer her interacial romances a great deal better.
Rating: Summary: Not too shaby but could have been better.... Review: This book started out okay but this was an unbelievable plot. The main character got pregnant, didn't tell her mother and her mother accepted that? Come on, get real! No mother, no matter what race would stand for that. The ending was a little finicky but nonetheless, I was glad it was over. Actually, I couldn't put the book down, but that was because I was restless....
Rating: Summary: Midnight Reading Review: This book was a page turner but only when I had nothing better to do. Those late nights when you can't sleep or you're looking for something to read in the bathtub, this is the book for you. Otherwise it's a dud. The sex scenes are not graphically descriptive at all. Ms. Kitt is capable of better.
Rating: Summary: Suspensful, intriging, and full of passion and action!! Review: This book was most definately a good read. At first, I wasn't feeling it. The cover was like so, so. But once I got into it, oh boy, it was on. The characters was described in such a way, I felt like I was right there when everything was going on. I'm not one to tell people details about a book, so I won't but what I will say is get the book!!!. It's great!!!
