Rating: Summary: A hilarious tale...... Review: A hilarious tale about an Irish lass and her fascination with a devil.....a very HANDSOME DEVIL. Sheridan "Danny" Delaney, ascorted by her Aunt Aggie and Uncle Finny, visits her old friend, Jules in London. Jules invites the three of them to join Jules at her cousin Nicholas' home where she has been staying. You can count on this not being your ordinary visit, as Sheridan can't seem to get rid of the trouble that follows her around. The late 1800's come alive in this story of friendship, passion, and humor. Ms. George has done a wonderful job of creating her characters. Emery, the deaf butler, Uncle Finny and his "hallucinations" and Aunt Aggie and her "last breaths" are just some of the funny characters that Melanie George has invented. You will fall in love with the devil himself just like Danny does. From Uncle Finny getting arrested to the myna bird who uses inappropriate language, this story is one of the most entertaining books I've read in quite a while. Is this your usual knight in shinning armor comes to save his fairy princess story? Does Jules have matchmaking in her mind all along? Find out how Nicholas and Sheridan finally come together in HANDSOME DEVIL.
Rating: Summary: Devilishly charming prose Review: After her maiden book DEVIL MAY CARE, Melanie George immediately blaze the trail with Handsome Devil in the Devil's series, pairing up the gentler Nicholas Sinclair with the Irish lass Sheridan Delaney - a close friend of his cousin Jules. Sheridan finally gets a chance to sail off to England to meet her beloved Jules - only to find that when she sets ashore - an intriguing knave rescues her from undesirable attentions and seals their meeting with a kiss and a passionate night. Little did Sheridan know that he is the notorious rake - Nicholas, and he is to house Sheridan as a guest. Along with Uncle Finny & Aunt Aggie, their heated squabbles and harsh personalities are softened by love in their hearts... only if Nicholas can learn how to trust. In this second book, Ms. George does not disappoint. The Irish colloquialism may be difficult to grasp - but with exaggerated descriptions like Nick "charming the barks off trees" - the book bounces with an uplifting and scintillating mood. It is hilarious as it is emotional when Sheridan hides her pregnancy because her love is unreciprocated. Misunderstanding sparks a festered relationship. However, the magical ending never fails to life a smile when the rogue decides to settle down for love. Handsome Devil is devilishly charming even though it lacks Devil May Care's more textured plot. Ms. George's writing is indeed infectiously debonair.
Rating: Summary: I LAUGHED.....I CRIED..... Review: FROM THE BEGINING, THIS BOOK WILL HAVE YOU LAUGHING...THEN CRYING.. IT IS ALMOST AS IF YOU ARE THERE... WHAT A WONDERFUL TALENT MS GEORGE...CANT WAIT UNTIL NOVEMBER!!!!!
Rating: Summary: LOTS of fun!!! Review: I have yet to read an author who writes as funny as Melanie George -- and in an historical, no less! Her books are not your *standard* format romance, and I'm so glad I found her. I can't wait to see what she comes up with in the future. This is one talented author and I feel she could easily go in any direction she chooses.
Rating: Summary: I loved this book! Review: I loved this book. I liked DEVIL MAY CARE enough to want to read HANDSOME DEVIL, but I definitely didn't expect it to be as good as it was. As a general rule I don't like when the plot of a book revolves around a misunderstanding at the beginning that is then the cause of all the conflict in the story until it is resolved at the very end. In this book there is a misunderstanding when Sheridan and Nicholas first meet. It's an understandable misunderstanding that plays into insecurities Nicholas already has as a result of his parent's marriage. The conflict doesn't lead to overt hostility between the characters, but it keeps Nicholas from thinking of Sheridan as someone he can marry and they agree to be friends. I think what set this book apart from most other books which start with a misunderstanding is that the focus of the book is on Sheridan and Nicholas's evolving relationship and their feelings for each other. The misunderstanding is not focused on, we are reminded of it only through Nicholas's conflicting feelings toward Sheridan. This was a great book to read. When it ended I was disappointed because I wanted to keep reading. That doesn't happen too often. DEVIL MAY CARE comes before this book. It may give you a better sense of Nicholas's mother and why he has his specific insecurities. It's very well explained in this book though, so it's not really necessary. If you've already read DEVIL MAY CARE, this book is even better!

Rating: Summary: Brilliant! Review: I've waited a long time to find a new author whose characters and outstanding wit could so enthrall me that I stayed up all night reading this wonderful book! The hero is hot as heck and the heroine a joy to behold. The love scenes are awesome!! WOW! Melanie George soars to the top of my list for MUST READS!
Rating: Summary: Handsome Devil Review: If possible this book was funnier than the first in the series. It also has a great love story. I read it through the night.
Rating: Summary: This One's Another Keeper! Review: If you've never believed in love at first sight, you will after you read this. Sheridan Delaney, spit-fire, always in trouble, speaks her mind, beautiful, stubborn and runs headlong into one big Handsome Devil! Not only is he handsome but a tender wonderfully sensitive man. Wow! Stand by for ignition! These two were absolutely meant for each other, as Nicholas' endearing cousin Jules knew. Dialog aplenty, that will have you on the floor and laughing so hard the tears will come down your face. But that's not all, throw in a deaf butler, an oriental gardner/houseboy, a wacky aunt and a feisty uncle... and Scally - well you're going to have to read the book to find out about him! Lord what an amazing cast of characters to support this wonderful romance from the extremely capable and talented hands of Melanie George. This one is a real keeper and on my list of all time favorites to re-read again and again!
Rating: Summary: A good time read Review: In a word this book was FUN. Poor Nicholas! He didn't know what he was up for when he opened his doors to Sheridan Delaney and her family.
