Rating: Summary: I could not put this one down! Review: After slipping an antique ring on her finger, Shaelyn Sumner is transported back in time just in time to marry poor Alec. Shaelyn & Alec find themselves married, quite by accident. She thought she was participating in a "living history" re-enactment & he thought he was saving his brother from a loveless arranged marriage. Alec thinks Shaelyn is crazy even if she is very desirable and truly doesn't know what to make of her. Shaelyn is a wonderful female character, she's smart, sassy & she's got brass. I really enjoyed the way she & Alec played off of each other. I also enjoyed the "Puffin" conversations between Alec & his friend Griffin. I laughed out loud at the "Pugilistic Puffin" (you'll have to read the book to understand!). I love humor in romance novels and this one doesn't disappoint. Jenny Lykins is one terrific author and this book is well worth your time.

Rating: Summary: I would like to give this 3 1/2 stars or a 7 out of 10 Review: Distant Dreams is an enjoyable time travel read, and worth picking up. This story is better written than the last book by Ms. Lykins which I read (Echoes of Tommorow), but still not up to the standards I think she is capable of writing at. Shaelyn and Alex create a warm plot with humor woven throughout the story. I do not have any problem with the fact that our hero thinks our heroine is crazy and just can't believe she is from the future. To be honest, I think I would have a hard time believing anyone if they where to tell me that they were from the future. My biggest problem with the story is the ending...always the ending with Ms. Lykin's books. Is she trying to keep the story under a certain page number? Every story of her's that I read, the end is rushed. Where are we all going to in such a hurry that we have to cram 40-70 pages of story into 3??? One minute Alex doesn't belive her and the next he is devising a way for Shaelyn to return from the future. No revelation, just a scolding fron his sister (and not a very convincing one to me at that). What about Shaelyn's family? They don't think she's certifyable and accept that she gets swept back to the past? Can anyone be such a complete jerk as Alex's father and behave how he did? Please Ms. Lykins, I love your plot, ideas, and writing, but I wish you would take more time with your endings.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down! Review: Enough people gave a rough story discrption, I just wanted to say I loved this book. I couldn't put it down (stayed up half the night reading!). I usually can figure out about half way through the book exactly how it is going to end, but this one kept me guessing until the last couple pages. It takes you through just about every emotion, but doesn't leave you with a cry your eyes out ending. I really felt for the characters, and I will definately buy the sequel! I have only read two other books by Jenny Lykins, and I think is her best yet, but will definately read more.

Rating: Summary: A Truly Wonderful Story!! Review: I have read a number of time-travel books and this was one of the best. I truly enjoyed reading it and was glad that Shaelyn had a chance to go back to her one-true-love.I'm looking forward to reading Griffin's story.
Rating: Summary: A must read, like all her books Review: I liked the book but it went too fast for my liking. I wanted to know more about Shaelyn and her thoughts when she was thrown back in time. The book seeemed to have her take it in stride. She should have been frantic. This book is a must for all time travel fans. I will be reading more of this author's books in the future.

Rating: Summary: Her best one yet! Review: I loved her other books, but this one is her best book yet. I don't want to give away any of the story, but I laughed and cried the whole way through. It's obvious Ms. Lykens writes time travel because she loves it. She does it better than any other author I've read. One of my favorite scenes is when Shalyn introduces Alec to Dentyne gum. And she always leaves me biting my nails.
