Summary: Wonderfully moving. You truly can feel the wind!
Review: I was honored to be able to read an advanced copy of this wonderful romance which is soon to be published. Please don't miss this one. It is truly one of the best of the genre I have ever read. Ms. Goodger is truly a talent to be recognized and this is without a doubt her best to date. In Hannah and James she has created a couple which rival the passion of Rhett and Scarlet. Ms Goodger made me feel just what it might be like on a clipper ship off the New England Coast. You can smell the salt air. The strength of Hannah's character in enduring the test of the sea and of love make her one you'll never want to leave.

Summary: A boring read
Review: I was not impressed with this story. Hannah and James didn't have one meaningful conversation on the 98 day trip on Windfire, much less any conversation. He wasn't even nice to her and all they did was bicker at each other. Then, I turn the page and he's 'deeply' in love with her! He doesn't even know her and he's begging her to marry him, running down a street shouting he loves her! And Hannah is determined to marry a man who deserted her, who she doesn't even love. She loves James too, even though she doesn't know him any better than he knows her. Sorry, but this book was a total disappointment to me. I had to force myself to finish it.

Summary: A MUST READ
Review: If you love a great romance, this is a must read for you. Jane Goodger brings you an incredible romance that you shouldn't pass up! I loved it!

Summary: Entertaining historical romance
Review: In 1851, Captain James McRae rages as he sees his bonus disappearing for lack of a navigator. To James' shock, Hannah Wright applies for the job of navigator on the clipper ship Windfire. Hannah desperately wants to go to San Francisco to find her fiancé. Her future mate departed for the coast over a year go seeking gold. James tells Hannah that she has the job if her father approves. James is confident the man will say no because women and ships do not mix.

To his shock, her father approves of Hannah as the navigator. He prays that Hannah and James fall in love so that his daughter can drop that bum she is engaged to marry. On the trip around the Horn, the captain and the navigator fall in love. However, she declines James proposal, feeling she owes it to her fiancé to stay faithful to him. James has to prove that she needs him and not some person touched by gold fever.

INTO THE WILD WIND is a warm historical romance that will garner much reader attention to author Jane Goodger. The first three-quarters of the novel is some of the best story telling found in the sub-genre, especially the dueling between the couple. However, the plot slows down a bit when Hannah refuses to accept that her fiancé is out of touch with reality and that James is her love of a lifetime. Still, even the stretch run remains quite good though not on the par excellence of the earlier subplots. Ms. Goodger provides her audience with a fabulous Americana romance that will have the audience scampering for her previous w0orks.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Well above the average Romance novel for heart and content
Review: Into The Wild Wind is more than a romance. It's a story with historical significance. Hannah is a woman who defied the normal behavior of the times. The marvelous backdrop of the clipper ships makes for a wonderous story. You are never sure how it's going to end. I loved it.

Summary: Terrifying
Review: Jane Goodger's story follows the ill-fated love of a captain and his beautiful navigator on their trip to San Francisco. He sails to collect a reward, while she looks for her fiancé, lost to the gold rush. Along the way, the pair becomes intrigued with each other's sailing prowess. Bound by the same love for the sea, they fall into an expected passion (what else do you do for three months at sea?). The question remains: will she still marry her fiancé when they reach San Francisco, leaving her ship captain wallowing in despair? Or will she overcome her fears of abandonment and decide true love worth the pain it might cause?

Even writing out the plot makes me cringe. After the first five pages, I felt overwhelmed by overdramatic writing and prose stretched thin to the point of incredibility. It was like watching one of those movies in which the actors consistently over-act, to the point where the audience covers their ears every time they open their mouths in anticipation of another asinine over-statement.

Don't get me wrong-I'm a fan of a good love story just like anyone else. However, the lack of good character development, the thin plotline, the extremely obvious character motivations (please!) and the simple fact of terrible writing make this book hard to like. If you'd like an amazing example of this author's work, read "When There Is Hope." [...]--I promise it will be a much more satisfying experience.

Summary: One of the best books I've ever read!
Review: This is a must read! I really loved it! I've read all of her books and have never been disappointed!

Summary: Well told, few flaws
Review: This was a great book. I didn't want to put it down once I got passed the middle. It tells about finding love, losing it, and getting it back. If you're a romance fan, this is the book for you. What I didn't like is that first they hated eachother, then they were madly in love, then they hated eachother, then in love, etc. Sometimes, I didn't really like the characters, but it was a good book overall.
